We spent a week here while we explored the wonderful coast of Maine. The house was very spacious and well-appointed, and we enjoyed watching the birds and chipmunks from the back porch. My older son enjoyed having the basement apartment to himself. Very close to local towns; we spent our days exploring the coastal area and enjoying some terrific lobster!
There were a few minor things to be attended to when we arrived. Management was very responsive. We were vacationing with adult children so the amount of space and the number of bathrooms was unlike any previous rental. Great location.... quiet but nearby great towns to explore. We had a nesting mourning dove on the porch who produced two babies before we left. Would highly recommend this rental.
My husband and I have been coming to this wonderful log cabin for years. It is roomy with a great gas fireplace , loft bedroom and fully equipped kitchen. The rear deck overlooks a big lawn on a very private multi acre lot & great for sipping coffee in the am or wine in the evening. It has an attached garage & full basement apartment if need be. It truly is our home away from home..and the only complaint is we never want to leave!
Our log cabin stay was a fitting introduction to Mid Coast Maine. Quietly secluded in the forest, it provided a spacious, clean home base to explore the scenic and cultural attractions of the area that are very nearby. We especially enjoyed the back porch with plenty of rockers & chairs for comfortably enjoying the many birds plus plenty of peace & quiet. Of the many places to explore, I highly recommend the Farnsworth Museum in Rockland...a well displayed collection of American artists who have lived or worked in Maine. Lots of places to enjoy good seafood too: our favorites included Atlantica in Camden and an outside table at The Pearl in Rockland. Great chowder!
Our first Mid Coast Maine getaway. The house was exceptionally spacious and the setting was wonderful. Very quiet. Close and convenient to Rockport, Rockland and Camden. Wonderful home in a great spot. We cannot wait to visit again next summer.
We experienced mice in the living room and master bedroom during two of the four nights we stayed in this house. This was extremely disruptive to our evenings as well as having to be concerned about mice running about while we slept. We notified the property manager, sent a photo and video of the mice, and requested a partial refund. We were told there was no evidence of mice based on the cleaning staff and exterminator. Apparently a photo and video were not enough evidence for this property manager and owner. We were also told that unless future guests complained about mice we would not receive any refund. This response was unacceptable to us.
Rockport is a small Maine Harbor village in the heart of Midcoast Maine. Well loved by locals and visitors, spectacular mountains meeting the oceans edge. Some of the best views and hiking opportunities in Maine. Lots of local artists and an opera house offering dance, music, and plays year round. Many fine art galleries, a harbor park with historical landmarks, day trip sailing cruises, and more. Come visit local museums, beaches, light houses, and off-shore islands. Spend the evening at one of the many wonderful restaurants in the area.
