About Diane Dalton

We visited Bethel, ME in 2011 and knew that this was a place we want to bring our family for many years to come. Growing up in the panhandle of Texas, (Diane) and Iowa (Chris), we had NO idea that Maine was such a fabulous state to visit! We were enamored with the area and chose this beautiful cabin which we immediately remodeled, then added a screened gazebo and fire pit to better enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Each year we continue to add features and upgrade because we consider each guest a special part of our endeavors to provide a wonderful vacation.

Diane Dalton purchased this cabin in 2011

Why Diane Dalton chose Bethel - Sunday River area

Where do we begin.....Ski magazine has hailed Bethel, ME 'The Greatest Ski Town In the Universe' and '#1 Best Skiing in New England', GOLF #1 'Best Public Golf Course in the Northeast' (2014). Bethel was also listed in the top 10 'Best Outdoor Places in America', offering hiking, biking, canoeing, rafting, and Bethel's Outdoor Adventure Park.

We first visited the Bethel area in the summer of 2011. We immediately fell in love with the area and its friendly people. There were countless activities from which to choose for our 15 y/o daughter and her friend. We played golf on the spectacular Sunday River #1 Ranked (GOLF 2014) course, hiked, canoed, and white-water rafted. On the weekend, we went to Sunday River Resort where we did the zip line and went down the mountain to the brewing company, where we had delicious hamburgers and a flight of beer. Sunday River also offers hiking and mountain biking at various levels of expertise.

The restaurants were fabulous! We dined at the tavern, Suds, where we listened to great live music. Later, we ate at a world renowned 22 Broad Street 4-star restaurant, where we had wonderful Italian food. There were many cuisines available....or you can cook your own delicious meal!

We were sold once we discovered that the best snow and golf course in the Northeast is Sunday River. Our family loves both winter and summer sports so this scenic place was perfect!

What makes this cabin unique

Since 2011, when we purchased our lovely cabin, it has been such a joy to offer our guests new and beautiful features. Every year, we determine what our guests and family would enjoy and add those features/items to the cabin.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Diane,

What a wonderful time we had in Bethel, Maine. I just wish we would have

had more time in that part of the country. The colors in Maine were

spectacular. Your cabin was all you said it would be and more. For myself

and my family thank you for allowing us to share your wonderful home in

Maine. You made our trip and the wedding one I will long remember.

Cute Cottage in a Lovely Area

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is a cute, clean home to visit. The area has a lot of fun and exciting things to do (concerts, hiking, ziplines, tubing ect). The house is well stocked (sheets, shampoo, cleaning supplies, laundry facilities, towels ect) and inviting. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Large Accomodating House Close to Sunday River And With A Hot Tub

  • 5 of 5

The Dalton's were very accommodating to our group of 10 friends’ as we ventured into our fourth trip into another state of New England. Diane responded very quickly to questions we had during the process of planning our trip, as well as some questions that came up while we stayed at the house. The house was very clean, and had a kitchen stocked with all the essentials needed. Wifi and the cable package was a plus, especially since the cellular strength varied for each of us. The house provided a wii and xbox which were great for when it was raining.

The hot tub in the gazebo was a great touch, and especially in the winter time it would be a great way of relaxing after a day of skiing. We had a small issue with the hot tub when we got there, but after contacting Dianne we could get in touch with their hot-tub person and get it fixed the next morning. The mosquito's can get overwhelming at night, but when we started a fire in the fire pit, we weren’t affected. For those that visit the house in the summer time, we visited Rattlesnake Brook which is part of the Cold River Area. The water hole was about 30 minutes away, but it was worth the trip. There is a waterfall about 15 feet high on one side, and there is a popular area to jump into the brook right next to the waterfall. For those interested in disc golf, there are courses around the area. One is about 30 minutes away, and involves hiking at times. We will keep this house in mind for future travels we have, and thank you again for allowing us to rent your house.

Beautiful property, great amenities!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here for a long weekend for my wife's 30th birthday. There were a total of 12 people here with plenty of room for sleeping and lounging. The hot tub and fire pit are a great touch for any relaxing you would like to do.
