Beautiful Place. Had a wonderful time here.

  • 4 of 5

The owner is really kind and reasonable, though it's hard to reach him some times because there is no reception here. So it's understandable when he doesn't reply immediately because I know he is working very hard at the Ranch to make guests' stay worth every penny. The Eagle Nest itself was well designed as it is spacious and yet cozy. Obviously a lot of thoughts have been put into the layout and I can't help but feel relaxed when I'm inside. One minor issue was with the guest bathroom. It is too far from the water tank so by the time hot water reaches there, it's already cold. Don't expect to shower in hot water unless you're in the master bathroom. At the end of the stay, you are encouraged to wash / dry sheets, pillow cases, and towels, as well as washing the dishes and cleaning the floor. I personally think it's a fair request considering the owner will halved the cleaning fee for you. But I do recommend doing part of this the night before since all the cleaning can take quite a bit of time as there are plenty of stuff that need to be washed and dried.

Will never rent again.

  • 1 of 5

Owner requested we book privately through him outside of vrbo. When we arrived the cabin had cracked and broken tile floors with dirty grout. Grease stains on the ceilings and walls. The floors had grunge build up. The bedding had holes in it. Luckily we brought our own. The roof had a leak leading to water on the floor causing both my children to fall. When we contacted him he did not respond for over 24 hours. The owner told us that if we cleaned the cabin before we left he would refund our cleaning deposit. So I cleaned his floors and Windows (finding beer caps from previous renters), did the towels, cleaned the bathrooms and swept thinking this would be enough. Upon arriving home we received multiple nasty text messages from gloom and an additional $275 charge on our credit card. Horrible service for a second rate cabin.

Owner's Response: In response to Annonymos, Reservations for Blue Sky Ranch always go through the owner Mr. Chis Pieretti. VRBO stands for (Vacation Rentals by Owner) and is the Information avenue for BSR. The issue with the roof was due to severe weather and was repaired within hours of notification which wasn't until the day the renters left. In regards to the cleaning charges for BSR, the renters have 2 options. Option 1 is to do no cleaning and will be charged the full amount. Option 2 is to do some basic straightening i.e. sweep, vacuum, wash bedding, basically leave home the way it was received and then cleaning charge is cut in half. This renter then requested an additional cabin for friends that were coming to the property. The staff was notified and the space was made available within 2 hours. The price and payment arrangement was agreed upon. This review was only written after renter did not fulfill payment for added cabin. The renter was not charged for the added cleaning necessary for the next guests . Their CC was charged for lack of payment of the added rental only. BSR made several attempts to rectify the situation with no success due to renters refusing to communite. All the staff at BSR want wish all our past and future guest a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year in 2017. OUR mission at BSR is to share this beautiful property and all the splendor it has to offer. Chris Pieretti, owner Blue Sky Ranch

Beautiful, secluded property

  • 5 of 5

The area is truly a little slice of heaven - it is breathtaking, and the A-frame is so cozy. We can't wait to return. We may have just found our new favorite retreat - and that is saying a lot because there are so many beautiful places in the Northwest.

The river and mountains are simply breathtaking. The area is so quiet. We loved star gazing at night and enjoyed the fire pit immensely. The hot tub is really nice.

Chris was wonderful to work with and very flexible.

We loved it!!! Would highly recommend this property and owner, and can't wait to return.

Great Booking Experience

  • 5 of 5

I booked this property directly through the owner over the phone. Chris was very professional and courteous throughout the process, and he addressed all of my concerns. Initially, I was a little skeptical about booking over the phone and not directly through homeaway. However, as Chris pointed out, it saved me a small percentage charge. I was also able to verify Chris's legitimacy through Homeaway reviews and through his separate internet site that shows his other properties.

I also appreciate that he reduces the cleaning fee if you are willing to put in a little elbow grease and clean up after yourself. ...I know a lot of other homeaway rentals charge low rental costs and outrageous cleaning fees that don't reflect the work required to clean the place; to me that just seems like a way to hide costs... I can tell he has a passion for the area the property is in and sharing it with others! His prices are reasonable and he seems to value fairness.

Rustic Retreat

  • 4 of 5

When you come into the house, there is a entryway & an alcove with a full bed.

We found everything we needed within the fairly clean kitchen. Disappointingly, the freezer & lower cupboards were dirty.

We could not find a regular coffee pot in the kitchen, but we found it in the hall closet. We left it there with the dust bunnies & used the Keurig instead. K-cups were thoughtfully provided.

The living room was comfortable & open, with a large collection of DVDs & CDs. I understood there would be a satellite receiver, but there was not.

Unfortunately, I was unable to connect to the wifi signal with my iPad & iPhone at all.

The access to the other full bed & loft is via a climbing wall, which was not super easy. We would have appreciated a ladder.

In the queen bedroom, there is a sliding door to the deck & a closet with extra pillows.

The hall bath was nice, but there were cobwebs between the cabinet & wall. Hair care appliances overwhelmed the circuit breaker & we had to hunt to eventually find it outside the house.

The master bedroom was as pictured, with a walk-in closet, tv, DVD player, & door to the deck. (There is an additional sliding-door closet that is filled with clothes.) The king bed was firm, but not uncomfortable, with soft linens.

In the master bath, no curtains mean the beautiful shower can be viewed from the hot tub area. There are double sinks, towels, & a very tidy cedar sauna.

In the laundry room, extra linens can be found.

The hot tub was ready, but there were no outdoor lights nearby for a night time soak.

A few things about our booking process: After an inquiry email, I communicated with the owner solely via phone, including payment. Strange, but the positive reviews made me comfortable. He allowed me to leave cash on the counter for the extra guest we had, which was very helpful. During the booking phone call, he told me that there would be a cleaning fee, in addition to the nightly rate. He said we could save 1/2 the cleaning fee & check out later, if we were willing to clean up. Upon clarification, I discovered we were to sweep, mop, clean counters & appliances, wash & replace the dishes & linens. I'm not sure if it was worth the savings. The sheets took so long to dry, we ran out of time before we could get the next load of towels 100% dry, so we left an apology note.

After our stay, I received a text from the owner, thanking us for leaving everything nicely.

Overall, it is a nice place and we would return.
