Fully furnished and renovated ocean view/garden level 2 or 3 bedroom suite in large home in prestigious West Vancouver. New wide plank beech hardwood flooring throughout, new kitchen cabinets, quartz counter top, 4 new stainless steel kitchen appliances. This can be either a two bedroom, one bathroom garden level ocean view suite OR a three bedroom, two full bathrooms garden level ocean view suite.

The two bedroom suite has 2 queen beds, but there is the flexibility of adding the third bedroom and extra bathroom to accomodate additional people. The third bedroom contains a king bed, a pullout sofa, additional sofa, coffee table and large tv.

This suite is located in an area of multi-million dollar homes, and has a stunning ocean, city and Stanley Park view. It is bright, spacious, has large windows, gas fireplace, hardwood floors in a large new contemporary kitchen. Insuite laundry, large screen plasma tv, dvd player, public transit bus right outside the door. Babbling creek and walking trails right outside your own private entrance and garden. Enjoy bar b quing and dining on your private patio as you watch the cruise ships sail to Alaska. If you love nature, privacy and peaceful surroundings, you will love this location.

Free parking, free wireless internet and an abundance of cable tv channels.

Location and Surrounding Area: This luxury suite is located in the prestigious subdivision of British Properties in one of the richest areas of Vancouver, yet is centrally located to all the major sightseeing attractions. West Vancouver is home to the two villages of Ambleside, Dundarave Village, and Horseshoe Bay with several sandy beaches, trendy shops and popular restaurants. In winter enjoy the proximity to Seymour Ski Hill, Cypress Bowl (home to the 2010 Winter Olympics), and Grouse Mountain, all within a 20 minute drive. Only a 12 minute drive to downtown, and one hour and 15 minutes to the world class resort of Whistler. Only 15 minutes to the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal which takes you to Vancouver Island.This suite is on the ground level of a large luxury home with many walking trails, tall trees, and spectacular views and stunning sunsets.

Sports: Enjoy mountain biking, sailing, golfing, windsurfing, skiing, hiking, swimming, sunbathing, tennis, etc. all within a short distance away.

Extra Accomodation: Can sleep 4 in the 2 bedroom suite or can add a connecting third large bedroom/studio and bathroom to accomodate 2-4 additional people for an additional rate of $100-$125/night.depending on the season. Lots of flexibility. Free parking. $150 cleaning fee and $200 refundable damage deposit.

You may see gorgeous sunrises to the east and stunning sunsets in the west all in the same day. Watch the cruise ships sail to Alaska in the summer while sitting at your table on the patio or relaxing in the back yard on the lounge chairs.

Our stay was lovely a bit wet at times but, that is part of the charm of beautiful Vancouver. Gail was a great host very approachable and most accommodating. The only drawback was we needed more time to explore the many wonderful sites Vancouver has to offer. Maybe next time? Hope to visit Gail in her home again.

A kind and generous landlady with a great place to stay

A nice and cozy place to stay. Well decorated with a beautiful view and neighborhood.

Our needs were available and transportation was easily in reach. And more important of all was a caring and modest landlady who gave us a high degree of attention and respect.

Clean, great views, convenient location

We stayed at this property for a week and it had everything we needed. Gail responded to our emails very quickly and made sure all of our needs were met. Would definitely recommend this rental to others.

West Van House

Thanks to Brian and Gail. This house has beautiful views of both the ocean and the mountains. There is a lovely porch area. This home is situated among some of the finest homes in West Vancouver, and is spotlessly clean!

Our hosts provided everything we needed, lots of towels, shampoos, etc. plus they are very accommodating, friendly and fun.

Close to all sightseeing, a great place to stay! The location is an easy drive to Whistler, Squamish, Grouse Mountain, Horseshoe Bay.

Luxury Ocean View Garden Level Suite

What a great place to stay with a family if you want to explore Vancouver or Whistler. The suite is the downstairs portion of the house (with the host living upstairs), closed off from upstairs and with a private entrance. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable and there is a full kitchen. What makes it so special is the neighborhood. It is located in a beautiful and posh suburb, just 15 minutes from Stanley Park and the west end of Vancouver. It has a gorgeous view of the harbor and is quite close to the center of West Vancouver, where there are restaurants, stores, and the sea wall. All in all a very comfortable and quiet place to stay!

This is an awesome place, lot's of sun light and good view of the ocean. Really quiet living area as well. My family absolutely enjoy the time being here. highly recommend for family hanging out.

Met our needs

The community this property is located in is a wonderful, hilly upscale community. It was very quiet and private. The "suite" itself is a 2-3 bedroom unit which is the walkout basement of the owner's home. The property shows well and appears bright and cheery, largely due to the decor. However, it was in need of some re-stocking. There are only 4 coffee mugs and very few spatulas, etc. Appears that this property gets what's about to be tossed out from main house. It would also be nice if there were some spices, etc. There was only salt available. Coffee was supplied, but no sweetener or creamer which I found unusual for a property through homeaway-especially in this type of setting. There is a gps available if you needed it, which was a nice touch (we did not). The owner met us there after arrival and was pleasant and gracious, but we were put off being pressed to pay a $75 cleaning fee. It continued to rub us the wrong way since upon arrival the dishwasher was full and the house was not as clean as the fee would warrant. Not sure what that fee was for. The unit is in need of a very thorough cleaning. Fixtures, windows, picture frames were in need of a scrubbing and hadn't been tended to for some time. As one said, "it's surface clean". Crumbs and broken pieces of styrofoam about the floor indicated to me that only sheets and linens had been changed. Just don't feel that the cleaning fee was justified. Oh shower temp has extreme fluctuations. Be careful. Having said this, the property is very comfortable and in a good location. Far enough, but not to far. We all slept GREAT! Crack the windows and listen to the water running through property.

Owner's Response: I regret that these vacationers had some concerns, but I am grateful that the suite met their standards, and that they enjoyed the setting, the location, and the cheeriness of the suite. With respect to styrofoam crumbs on the floor, the carpet had just been cleaned by a professional carpet cleaner two days prior to their arrival (they were the first ones in after the cleaning), so perhaps the crumbs were from the pieces of styrofoam the carpet cleaner placed underneath the furniture legs after cleaning. As for any items that may be lacking in the kitchen, I am always more than happy to provide any items on the spot that vacationers request. I do appreciate the feedback however, and will be doing a thorough inventory of kitchen items to ensure that there is enough of everything provided. I do have the suite professionally cleaned after every vacationer, and will be doing an additional spring cleaning of windows and picture frames. As for the cleaning fee, the guest understood at the time of booking that there was a cleaning fee involved, as with many vacation rental properties, and was not "pressed" to pay it, but rather than them offering to pay it when they checked in, I did have to request it, at which point they had no issue in providing it. These vacationers were pleasant people, quiet, and respectful of other people's property. I only wish that they had voiced their concerns to me in person, as I always try to do my best to satisfy my guests' needs.

This property is well located, just 12-15 minutes from downtown Vancouver (over the Lions Gate Bridge), 15 minutes to the Horshoe Bay Ferry Terminal which takes you by ferry to Vancouver Island, 1 and a half hours to world class ski resort of Whistler, 5 minutes to the two towns of Ambleside and Dundarave Beach of West Vancouver. Minutes to restaurants, Park Royal Mall, and beaches. With a half hour of three ski hills, Cypress Bowl, Grouse Mountain, and Mount Seymour. Golf course within a 15 minute drive at Gleneagles. Public transportation right outside your door which runs every hour.

For groups of more than 4 adults, there is a large adjoining bedroom/sutdio with a king size bed, tv, two sofas, and extra bathroom with shower for an additional charge of $125/night.
