About the property

Spacious, Prime Location, One Floor, All Modern Comfort, Air Conditioning, WiFi

Located on the first floor of a historical building (formerly a convent), in the Santa Croce section of Florence, near Duomo, Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and the Verdi Theater. This fabulous property offers elegant living and dining with all the modern amenities. The social area includes a large Dining Room and a Living Room/Bar with high cassettone ceilings and terracotta floors. Both the Master Bedroom (King-size bed) and Bedroom 2 (Queen-size bed) include a private full bathroom. In addition, a queen-size sofa bed in the Living room allows for two (2) more people to be lodged, if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and it includes a conventional and a microwave oven, as well as a dishwasher. Ideally located in the Centro Historico of Florence, guests need only a 2-minute walk to reach the closest grocery store, or they can walk 8 more minutes and reach one of the greatest markets in the city: Sant’Ambrogio. ATM, pharmacy, coffee shops and more are all within a 5-minute walk. The city's greatest attraction, the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, is a five minute walk, but you see the beautiful Duomo around the corner from the apartment. The landmark Santa Croce church houses famous Florentine art and the tombs of remarkable Florentines like Dante and Michelangelo. The church is also the focal point of one of the most genuine neighborhoods left in the old center. While the area's western edge abuts the medieval district around Piazza della Signoria -- Via de' Bentaccordi/Via Torta actually traces the outline of the old Roman amphitheater -- much of the district was rebuilt after World War II in long blocks of creamy yellow plaster buildings with residential shops and homes. Few tourists roam off Piazza Santa Croce, so if you want to feel like a city resident, stay here. This neighborhood also boasts some of the best restaurants in the city.

Best place we have ever stayed!

  • 5 of 5

This place deserves the best rating possible for so many reasons:

The furnishings were absolutely beautiful. And there were fluffy towels - just one of the many added touches that make this place so elegant..

The location was great because we could walk ANYWHERE in a short time - Duomo, Uffizi, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, Galileo Museum, Santa Croce, and countless restaurants.

The service was awesome - we were met at the apartment and given a much-appreciated bottle of champagne, plus helpful info - like how to reserve a taxi for our airport departure.

Great location and a gem

  • 5 of 5

After slight difficulty communicating with the person who was to meet us at the apartment, we arrived at this lovely centrally located gem. We could walk to all the "must-see" places in Florence. There are many restaurants in this neighbourhood, whether you're in the mood for Italian fare, ramen or kebabs, you can find them easily.

The apartment is very clean, has a very well equipped kitchen. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure and hot water. Comfortable beds with high end linens, lots of wardrobe space for hanging clothes as well as shelves for other items.

The lights switches were a little funky, mainly because many of them are 3-way switches. It would have been nice if toilet paper was supplied for our stay, but a convenient store next door helped solve the situation.

We would definitely recommend our friends to stay here and we would definitely stay here again when we return to Florence.

Gem in the heart of Firenze!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Casa Balducci! What can we say? This beautiful apartment in the heart of florence absolutely blew us away from the moment we set foot inside! Carlos and Lordes were outstanding hosts. Lisa is a wonderful person to allow us to visit and we will be forever grateful to her. The apartment is literally within a 5-10 walk from any point in Florence you want to visit. Stroll the streets and see all the great places to eat or just sit at a cafe and people watch. We loved this place!

Like a 5-star hotel, with more privacy!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this gorgeous flat, with our 2 elementary-aged daughters, for 3 nights in February. The apartment itself is possibly even more spacious than it looks in the photos, with a beautifully renovated kitchen and very comfortable beds. We had absolutely everything we needed, and it was a lovely place to come home to after long days of exploring Florence. We arrived on the day of a taxi strike and ended up walking from the train station, so we arrived later than planned. But Samuel, one of the managers, greeted us at the apartment and provided us with lots of information about getting around the city. We also found a lovely bottle of prosecco and plenty of bottled water waiting for us. Nothing is far apart in Florence, but this was an especially excellent location, away from the more crowded area around the train station, but still close to many restaurants (and gelato places); just down the block from the beautiful Santa Croce; and only a short walk from either the Duomo, in one direction, or the Uffizi. There is a nightclub down the block whose patrons are still exuberant when they leave late at night, but we travel with earplugs and were prepared for some city noise. We hope to make it back to Florence and would definitely stay here again if we do.

Wonderful apartment in Firenze

  • 5 of 5

Our family truly enjoyed our stay at Casa Balducci. The apartment is beautifully decorated and is convenient to all of the sites in Firenze. It has a full kitchen, large dining and living rooms, and comfortable bedrooms and bathrooms. Communication with our host beforehand was excellent and we were greeted at the apartment upon our arrival. This was hands down the best place that we have stayed during our time in Italy and we would definitely stay here again.

Perfect, Clean, Well Appointed Apartment in the center of all the attractions.

  • 5 of 5

Casa Balducci was everything described and then some. Very classy well appointed apartment in the center of Florence close to all the major attractions. We arrived in Florence after a long 18 hour flight from Pittsburgh and were met by Carlos at the apartment, he helped get our luggage up to the beautiful second floor apartment. Carlos showed us around the apartment and to our surprise he had stocked the kitchen with some basic Florence requirements, a bottle of Proseco Wine, a bottle of Champagne, milk, bottled water. Carlos was very helpful during our stay, our internet went out and he came to the apartment and got it fixed for us. He also arranged for our transportation upon check-out. The apartment has 4G Wi-Fi, this is very convenient, you can take it with you and have Wi-Fi everywhere you visit. There are loads of great restaurants, and pastry shops within seconds of your front door. One of our favorite finds was The Giastro, less than a 5 minute walk from Casa Balducci, very nice Florence restaurant that seems to be a frequent stopping point for many famous people that visit Florence. I could go on & on but I will stop here. Again if you're thinking about a trip to Florence, this is a great place to stay, very comfortable, roomy, well appointed apartment. You will not be disappointed.

The area of Santa Croce is like being in Italy during the Renaissance. Everything is only a short walk from the apartment. This area is safe and an area with a great deal of night life while the apartment itself is nestled in a quiet corner of an old monastery. Everything can be reached in 5 minutes’ walk: museums, churches, markets, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and you really feel you are in the heart of ancient Florence. This is where you can really experience Florence and life with the Italians.
