About the property

Spacious, Prime Location, One Floor, All Modern Comfort, Air Conditioning, WiFi

Located on the first floor of a historical building (formerly a convent), in the Santa Croce section of Florence, near Duomo, Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, and the Verdi Theater. This fabulous property offers elegant living and dining with all the modern amenities. The social area includes a large Dining Room and a Living Room/Bar with high cassettone ceilings and terracotta floors. Both the Master Bedroom (King-size bed) and Bedroom 2 (Queen-size bed) include a private full bathroom. In addition, a queen-size sofa bed in the Living room allows for two (2) more people to be lodged, if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped and it includes a conventional and a microwave oven, as well as a dishwasher. Ideally located in the Centro Historico of Florence, guests need only a 2-minute walk to reach the closest grocery store, or they can walk 8 more minutes and reach one of the greatest markets in the city: Sant’Ambrogio. ATM, pharmacy, coffee shops and more are all within a 5-minute walk. The city's greatest attraction, the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, is a five minute walk, but you see the beautiful Duomo around the corner from the apartment. The landmark Santa Croce church houses famous Florentine art and the tombs of remarkable Florentines like Dante and Michelangelo. The church is also the focal point of one of the most genuine neighborhoods left in the old center. While the area's western edge abuts the medieval district around Piazza della Signoria -- Via de' Bentaccordi/Via Torta actually traces the outline of the old Roman amphitheater -- much of the district was rebuilt after World War II in long blocks of creamy yellow plaster buildings with residential shops and homes. Few tourists roam off Piazza Santa Croce, so if you want to feel like a city resident, stay here. This neighborhood also boasts some of the best restaurants in the city.

Perfect Florence retreat

  • 5 of 5

This apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean, and very well equipped. It is reasonably quiet even though it is in the center of Florence. The location is perfect. Carlos responded immediately when we had a small question. I recommend it highly.

Beautiful Place

  • 5 of 5

This was the first time my wife and I have gone to Florence and glad we stayed at Casa Balducci. It is a very beautiful place with plenty of room. The location makes it very easy to get groceries and to walk to all the main sights in town. The bed was comfortable and bathrooms worked well. Carlos met us when we arrived and showed us around the place. I did have one of the drains in the showers that backed up but Carlos unclogged it the next day. A few days late in the evening there was some partyers that made some noise but it was not the whole night or the whole week we were there. Kitchen is well stocked with knives, pots and pans, cooking tools, even a spice rack! Everything worked well. The washer and dryer are very small so I would suggest that if you are on a longer stay you should consider using a self-serve laundry mat instead. No English speaking TV so bring your own entertainment. Lots of room in the hall closets (behind the mirrors) to hang and store your clothes.

Fabulous Florence Flat

  • 5 of 5

This is a wonderful apartment. It is spacious and beautifully appointed. The beds are so comfortable and towels fluffy and absorbent. The kitchen is great, we didn't cook but you certainly would have with all the pots, pans and utensils that were supplied.

We loved the large pictures in the living definitely know you are in Florence. Renting this apartment was our first experience with couldn't have been better. The apartment was very comfortable and well located to sites, shopping and restaurants. The property manager, Carlos, met us at the apartment and was so helpful in orienting us to the amenities...including the washing machine and dryer!! We would definitely stay here again.

Best place we have ever stayed!

  • 5 of 5

This place deserves the best rating possible for so many reasons:

The furnishings were absolutely beautiful. And there were fluffy towels - just one of the many added touches that make this place so elegant..

The location was great because we could walk ANYWHERE in a short time - Duomo, Uffizi, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio, Galileo Museum, Santa Croce, and countless restaurants.

The service was awesome - we were met at the apartment and given a much-appreciated bottle of champagne, plus helpful info - like how to reserve a taxi for our airport departure.

Great location and a gem

  • 5 of 5

After slight difficulty communicating with the person who was to meet us at the apartment, we arrived at this lovely centrally located gem. We could walk to all the "must-see" places in Florence. There are many restaurants in this neighbourhood, whether you're in the mood for Italian fare, ramen or kebabs, you can find them easily.

The apartment is very clean, has a very well equipped kitchen. Nice bathrooms with good water pressure and hot water. Comfortable beds with high end linens, lots of wardrobe space for hanging clothes as well as shelves for other items.

The lights switches were a little funky, mainly because many of them are 3-way switches. It would have been nice if toilet paper was supplied for our stay, but a convenient store next door helped solve the situation.

We would definitely recommend our friends to stay here and we would definitely stay here again when we return to Florence.

The area of Santa Croce is like being in Italy during the Renaissance. Everything is only a short walk from the apartment. This area is safe and an area with a great deal of night life while the apartment itself is nestled in a quiet corner of an old monastery. Everything can be reached in 5 minutes’ walk: museums, churches, markets, grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and you really feel you are in the heart of ancient Florence. This is where you can really experience Florence and life with the Italians.
