Lovely, authentic Parisian apartment in the 5th!

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely apartment! Beautiful high ceilings, very comfortable sitting and eating areas, views of Paris from one of the second floor bedrooms (a tiny kitchen, however, although, big enough for two people to negotiate making breakfast.) The apartment is perfectly located in the Latin Quarter and is near many good restaurants and shops. Because we love to walk, we did so everywhere, including to the major museums which were a good hour or so away. Our walks took us through wonderful neighborhoods with outdoor markets and comfortable cafes. Michele, the owner of the apartment, is absolutely charming and very, very welcoming and helpful. She was there to greet us and made sure we were completely set up and comfortable in our surroundings. We highly recommend this apartment, although, one must be prepared for the five-flight walk-up (it gets easier each day, though).

Can't get any more authentic than this, and what a great location!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! This has to be one of the favorite places we have stayed as a family on vacation. We are 2 adults with 2 young adult children who stayed here 5 nights while in Paris. I always wanted to spend more time exploring the Latin Quarter, and this location was perfect for meeting that goal! Not only is it in the heart of the Latin quarter, but within walking distance of Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, St. Chapelle) and so much more. The Cardinal Lemoine metro stop is right at the end of the street, so anything that seemed further than we wanted to walk to was easily accessible by subway.

The apartment itself is authentic, old French, with modern updates where needed for comfort, and it was exceptionally clean. The kitchen is small but well-apportioned with everything we needed to prepare breakfast and dinner before and after our days walking through Paris. Both a grocery store and bakery were easily accessible at the end of the street. The amount of space in the apartment was so refreshing after staying in small hotel rooms at some of our other stops. At the end of each day we were able to spread out comfortably and decompress in pleasant, homey surroundings. Loved the decor (a soft green garden theme) and the fresh flowers in the dining area - what a nice touch!

Michele, the property owner, is very sweet, accommodating, accessible and helpful. We enjoyed meeting her and getting tips on what is nearby, and are so grateful she is willing to share her home with travelers looking for more of an immersion than straight sightseeing experience in Paris. My family and I will look here first for availability on future trips as I cannot imagine finding a place we'd enjoy more!

Perfect Parisian Apartment for a Family of Four

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is very large and airy. There are beautiful huge windows in each room that open for a nice breeze. It is a duplex with 2 large bedrooms on the upper floor. Both bedrooms have doors for excellent privacy. The master bedroom has a nice queen bed and bathtub with shower. The 2nd bedroom has 2 beds. One is a queen and the other is a twin. This was perfect for our 17 and 13 year old kids. There is a bathroom with shower on the upper floor as well as a half bath on the lower floor. Michele is a wonderful host who really helped us to enjoy our stay in Paris. She was also really pleasant to talk to and has a great sense of humor! She really wants to be sure you have a great stay in her apartment. The place really has an old-world charm to it and part of that is the lack of A/C and the 4th floor walk-up (no elevator). We would just be sure to do our shopping when we returned from our activities so we only had to walk up and down once a day. The location has everything you need: easy access to 2 Metro lines, grocery and other food shopping, plenty of cafes and nightlife, walking distance to Ile de la Cite and two great parks, etc. Our stay was everything we could have hoped for thanks to Michele and her great apartment.

Wonderful Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Michèle's apartment for 22 days in April-May and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The apartment is large and comfortable, full of beautiful paintings and books. It is also off the street and quiet. Michèle is charming and helpful. The neighborhood is ideal with boulangeries, charcuterie and restaurants on every corner and in between. The apartment is close to the Jardin de Luxembourg, the Jardin de Plante (both beautiful) and Rue Mouffetard and a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame,Isle St. Louis and the Maria's. Metro stops are a three minute walk. Bill and Lynne from Seattle

The perfect place in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was everything you could possibly want and more. My husband and I had never stayed in the 5th arr. and wanted to try something different. We were so pleasantly surprised at how central it was to two of our favorite places-- Luxembourg garden and the jardin des plantes-- and the lively moufftard area. Michelle could not have been more gracious and enthusiastic about the area and what we might want to do while we were there. The apartment was warm and personal and the furnishings and linens very comfortable. It was particularly fun to read The Moveable Feast by Hemingway and read his impressions of the area, as he actually lived a few doors up on the same road. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a wonderful experience in a historic district of Paris.

Wonderful home base for families

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (including kids ages 8 and 10) stayed here in June 2016 and loved it. We found it to be very well- provisioned, with a great little kitchen, a nice layout with multiple floors and bedrooms for privacy, and overall just an authentic feel. It was very quiet and no street noise at all could be heard, and it's location was perfect, with a lovely little square just down the street with lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from and super close to the Arenes De Lutece and Jardin des Plantes. It also has an ATM very close. There are a lot of stairs, which was fine for our family, but could be challenging for others. It was a great home base and Michèle was a wonderful hostess with recommendations and lots of helpful info -- thank you, Michèle!!
