Wonderful Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Michèle's apartment for 22 days in April-May and enjoyed ourselves immensely. The apartment is large and comfortable, full of beautiful paintings and books. It is also off the street and quiet. Michèle is charming and helpful. The neighborhood is ideal with boulangeries, charcuterie and restaurants on every corner and in between. The apartment is close to the Jardin de Luxembourg, the Jardin de Plante (both beautiful) and Rue Mouffetard and a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame,Isle St. Louis and the Maria's. Metro stops are a three minute walk. Bill and Lynne from Seattle

The perfect place in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was everything you could possibly want and more. My husband and I had never stayed in the 5th arr. and wanted to try something different. We were so pleasantly surprised at how central it was to two of our favorite places-- Luxembourg garden and the jardin des plantes-- and the lively moufftard area. Michelle could not have been more gracious and enthusiastic about the area and what we might want to do while we were there. The apartment was warm and personal and the furnishings and linens very comfortable. It was particularly fun to read The Moveable Feast by Hemingway and read his impressions of the area, as he actually lived a few doors up on the same road. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is looking for a wonderful experience in a historic district of Paris.

Wonderful home base for families

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four (including kids ages 8 and 10) stayed here in June 2016 and loved it. We found it to be very well- provisioned, with a great little kitchen, a nice layout with multiple floors and bedrooms for privacy, and overall just an authentic feel. It was very quiet and no street noise at all could be heard, and it's location was perfect, with a lovely little square just down the street with lots of restaurants and cafes to choose from and super close to the Arenes De Lutece and Jardin des Plantes. It also has an ATM very close. There are a lot of stairs, which was fine for our family, but could be challenging for others. It was a great home base and Michèle was a wonderful hostess with recommendations and lots of helpful info -- thank you, Michèle!!

Lovely Paris Apartment

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five, including three school aged boys, stayed in this lovely apartment for four nights this summer. It was perfect for our dream vacation to Paris. The owner, Michele, was warm and kind. She took the time to explain everything about the apartment and the surrounding neighborhood. The apartment is perfectly located within steps of the Metro as well as shopping, sightseeing, and delicious food options. It is also a very safe area and our children enjoyed the freedom to explore a little bit on their own. The apartment itself has a wonderful old world charm. It was very clean and inviting. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed the option to eat in on occasion. The bedrooms are large and bright with beautiful windows. The bathrooms are modern and of a nice size. We would absolutely recommend this apartment to our friends and family visiting Paris and would definitely stay here again if we are ever lucky enough to return to Paris.

We lived like Parisians!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed at this charming old Parisian apartment with my husband and three children and it was perfect! Michele was kind, gracious and very helpful--it felt like I was meeting an old friend.

The apartment was very clean, had everything that we needed and was VERY charming. We really felt like Parisians and not tourists. The kitchen had everything that one would need and the bedrooms were the right size and very comfortable. We definitely would have loved to stay there much longer.

The location was just a few steps from the Metro, a market, bakeries, hundreds of cafes and restaurants, and....Hemingway's apartment (for those of you who are fans of Hemingway like me). There was so much to see so close to where we stayed and everything else was just a quick Metro ride away from the apartment.

When we return to Paris, we will definitely stay here again. Thank you so much Michele and Herve! :)

Wonderful and Charming Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

Myself, my family (spouse and young child), and my colleague stayed in this charming apartment in May of 2015 while traveling on business for our university. This is the kind of apartment you dream about when you plan a visit to Paris - perfect location, beautifully decorated, historic building, clean and quiet! The owners are absolutely fantastic - they were polite, helpful, and courteous before and during our stay, giving us all the information needed.

Travelers with disabilities should note that (as the description states and other reviews have said) it is up four flights of stairs with no elevator, so it is not suitable for those with a handicap. However, the stairs were not a problem for us and the views from the windows are lovely. We had great weather and often slept with a window open (we could hear bells and pigeons in the morning but never any noise from the street). The two bedrooms both have comfortable queen-sized beds; the second bedroom has a twin bed where our daughter slept but which an adult or teenager could also use. Both bedrooms are very spacious. The kitchen is small like most European kitchens but well-equipped (we stayed for about two weeks, so we made a lot of use of the kitchen) and it has a dishwasher. The upstairs bathroom also has a washing machine, which was very useful. The wonderful collection of books, art, and music made it a peaceful, welcoming place to relax at the end of the day.

The neighborhood is great - you can walk to Notre Dame in about 30 minutes or take the metro - the closest station is just a few blocks away. There is a grocery, boulangerie, pharmacy, flower shop, doctor's office, cafe, and lots of restaurants (for every price range) within a 5 - 10 minute walk. We can't wait to come back!
