Fully furnished with all new appliances for most everything one would need, even for those needing handicap accessibility. Val and Steve are wonderful hosts and great people. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for having us.
brilliant facilities for all the family
Fairfield Accessible Barn was fab!
the quality of the whole place was incredibly high from the kitchen to the sitting areas to the bedrooms to the bathrooms. Everything had been well thought out and no expense spared on the quality of the fittings. absolutely spotless! (bit of a worry with a 6 and 3 year old!)
our hosts were very friendly and helpful and suggested some local attractions, there was plenty to keep us busy even in January. we learnt and enjoyed a lot!
we were so impressed with the electric bed that we immediately ordered one when we got home!

We arrived to a warm welcome and with a thorough explanation of the facilities. The property reflects a high standard of cleanliness, cheerfulness, and technology that meets all visitors' needs. We especially liked the adjustable bed which made evening reading a delight and the ease of car parking. The location is lovely for a short break with good walking opportunities with being close to Sherwood Forest and several National Trust properties. The extra bonus was some lovely pubs that serve delicious food at affordable prices and supermarkets nearby.
Beautifully presented property to a very high standard. We were only the second people to stay there so everything was new and pristine. We had a comfortable and relaxing week's stay. The owners are very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend a visit.
Thank you. We are so glad you enjoyed your holiday and glad you had a relaxing time at the property.
Our Wedding weekend

A house you could live in!
This is beautiful rural property and the photos do not do it justice. All was clean and well maintained. We stayed here from the US visiting the many family and friends we have in the area and specifically for my mother's 80th birthday. This house made a wonderful base for our stay. We hosted a largish (30) family bbq in the lovely lawned garden and a couple of other smaller get togethers with friends and family. We were only 6 staying in the house but all had plenty of room. We were very fortunate to be staying at the end of May when the weather cooperated with our vision of a bbq, but had it rained we could have moved indoors to the downstairs space and still been comfortable.
The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The bathrooms (both upstairs) were modern and well finished. There is a separate downstairs loo with hand basin, which was useful for guests and my 80 yr-old mum.
The owners were always on hand should there be a question or something needed, they were the perfect hosts bringing over a garden umbrella one time when we were sitting outside in the sun - yes, it really was hot when we were there!
Locally, there is a pub a short walk away, which was fine for a drink and a snack. We had a fabulous lunch not far away in Laxton at the Dovecote Inn and a lovely walk round the village there. There are walks from the house across the local fields and down to the church. The larger village of Ollerton (3 miles) has a really good butcher's shop on the main street, plus a large Tesco supermarket with everything you might need.
We would not hesitate to recommend this property to others or to use it again ourselves should we be travelling with all our children again.
