Attractions and Activities:
We have seen the Atlantic in all its moods. We have seen a hare in the garden & a gannet dive from 30 metres straight into the sea. If you tire of driving, the peace & calm of this cottage & its garden is a memorable haven.
We (my fiancée and myself) came to the cottage on Friday night. It was quite cold these days (below 0 Celsius), but heating worked very well + we could make use of the amazing fireplace! The house is just perfect if you like to be at the end of world. House is indeed decorated in very professional way which emphasised the cosy and magical atmosphere of the place. Communication with the owners was very good and getting to the site not as difficult as it could look like. We wish to go there again!
Very unique and beautiful cottage on an small Island just beside the ring of Kerry. With the first step in the house we felt like coming home. It has a very warm atmosphere and nice arranged furnitures. We had a very Irish week with sunshine the first half and storm at the end. We enjoyed having breakfast on the nice terrace with the ocean behind and sitting down just a few steps away from the sea in the evening. And even the storm was fascinating - feeling the strength of the wind and sea. The place is furthermore a great starting point for exploring the ring of Kerry. The owner (Jane) provided us with a lot of helpful information and answered all questions soon. We would love to come back to this lovely place.

The cottage is truly unique. The location of the cottage, the view, the home decoration ....Everything about the cottage is simply right. I'll come back again.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this part of Ireland from this fabulous cottage. It is filled with luxuries and views that cannot be found just anywhere and was exceptionally clean. We greatly appreciated the washer and dryer after 2 weeks of traveling and every other amenity one could want was available. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the complete silence, it was wonderful. We enjoyed long walks up to the entrance to Rossmore Island and encountered a family of cows! The location is very convenient to Sneem and Kenmare, which had 3 grocery stores and all the supplies you might need. Jane and her husband gave us all the information needed for our arrival and were very responsive to our questions. We toured the Ring of Kerry and its incredible coastal views, and also toured the Killarney National Forest area. About 3 hours away are the spectacular Cliffs of Moher if you decide to venture out a bit further. We would not hesitate to recommend Seal Rock Cottage and would return there in an instant if we are able one day!
We spent two wonderfull weeks in this fabulous cottage: The pictures on the website show really what you get and even more ! Nothing missed, neither the charming luxury of the house nor the fantastic environment.
Lovely 2 bedroom home on Rossmore Island on the southern Iveragh coast, about 10 minutes to Sneem and about 20 minutes to Kenmare.
Beautifully appointed and spotless, this is a great find. if you value privacy and views, this is a wonderful choice. Fully equipped kitchen, two living areas, fireplace and fully modern appliances and bathroom fixtures. Great picnic table at water's edge. Owners Jane and Michael were very easy to contact and prompt with all replies. Everything was as stated in the description. Directions to the house were good; we found it without difficulty but HIGHLY recommend planning to arrive before dark. I would return and definitely recommend to friends and family.
Rossmore Island lies 5 miles from Sneem and 11 miles from the gourmet town of Kenmare. Beyond the nearby McGillycuddy’s Reeks lies the famous lakes and town of Killarney – a mere one hour’s drive. Also within 90 minutes are the world class golf courses of Tralee, Ballybunion, Dooks, Waterville and the Ring of Kerry (10 minutes)
The region has unequalled scenery, where the beauty of mountains, sea, lakes and woodland can be seen in varying light and shades whatever the weather. Because the shore is washed by the Gulf Stream, the area enjoys a mild climate where tropical plants flourish outdoors.
The Ring of Kerry follows the coastline and is one of the most dramatic scenic drives in the country. A multitude of interests and activities are available including walking, riding, cycling, canoeing, fishing, boating and golf. Guides & Ghillies can be arranged. Nearby Kenmare is renowned for its fine dining restaurants and music-filled traditional pubs and is a mere 15 minutes away.
Golf: There are many world class golf courses in the vicinity - Ring of Kerry Golf Club is a 15 minute drive and Kenmare Golf Club a 20 minute drive from the cottage. The courses at Killarney (venue for the 2011 Irish Open) and Waterville are also within a reasonable distance.
