Thank you so much for the complimentary review. It was great meeting the family. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. Hope to see you again.
Just as the photos indicate, this apartment is spacious, beautiful and clean. Linda was attentive to our needs and graciously answered any questions we had about the neighborhood. We found the apartment to be in a perfect location. It is just a five-minute walk--down beautiful oak and maple-tree lined Stuyvesant Avenue--to the Utica Avenue subway station, where you can jump on the A train to Manhattan. We enjoyed some of the best food we have ever had at nearby restaurants: Emeline's for breakfast, Saraghina and Peaches--the cornbread is a must-have!--for dinner. If you want to eat in, there are multiple places in the area to pick up groceries. We had great weather during our stay and were able to enjoy the wonderful cross-breeze this brownstone apartment provides. This, along with the quiet neighborhood, allowed for wonderful sleeping conditions. A good night's rest gave us the energy we needed to pack each day full. Overall wonderful experience. We have no reservations whatsoever with recommending this apartment to friends or relatives who want the experience of being Brooklynites, if only for a few days. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed our stay in this incredible flat. The accommodations were perfect. If you go, say hi to Sam at the Green Market from Matt and Pam. We went into Manhattan on the subway and it was very close and fast. Linda was very gracious and her son was helpful. This was our first VRBO stay and we are definitely using it again.
Linda is the most accommodating VRBO host I have ever come across. She made my stay so easy and was consistently offering to help in any way that she could. The place is beautiful with full amenities and everything that you would need. It is exceptionally easy to hop on express A to get to Manhattan if need be. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone that wants a full Brooklyn experience and also the convenience of getting to the city. Thanks again, Linda, you are the best!
Miss. Linda and her son Drew were great host during my stay. They made sure that I was comfortable by contacting me around 3 times during my 4 day stay. The information regarding the Subway and restaurants in the area was a great help! The apartment was as pictured in the photos - clean and well-kept. If you have lived in an apartment you will not be surprised by any noise from the top floor tenant. The tenant was very respectful when he found out that someone was staying in the apartment below.
If you do not want to stay in the hustle of Manhattan, I would recommend this property. The brownstone location felt like a regular neighborhood. The Subway is the best way to get around. It is a few blocks from the apartment, but if you are used to walking in Manhattan the walk to the Subway is a "cake walk". The apartment is around the corner from 2 good restaurants - Earline's and Peaches. I ate at Peaches most of the time.
Uber is the cheapest transportation to the apartment.
Linda was an incredible host! She met us when we got there and showed us around, she even had a list of local restaurants for breakfast and lunch that were delicious! Our group consisted of three girls and we always felt very safe in the area and traveling to and from the subway. Linda was very accommodating and made our trip very comfortable! We accidentally left a pair of boots at her apartment, and she promptly shipped them to us (it arrived in less than a week!). I would definitely recommend staying with Linda during your trip, you won't be disappointed!!
My wife and I brought our twin daughters to New YORK for Christmas and their 21st birthday and the best decision we made for the trip was to stay at this apartment in Brooklyn. Linda is such a wonderful and attentive host. It was great knowing she was in the building in case we needed something but since she takes such good care of the property we didn't need anything. The bedroom is huge and the living space is big enough to leave the fold out couch open since that's where our girls slept. We thought it was really awesome that we were staying in an authentic brownstone. Linda provides info about area restaurants and stores and if we had any questions all I had to do was text her.
The Utica Ave subway station is a ten minute walk from the property so we bought 7 day Metrocards which was the way to go. I highly recommend using the Embark app for New York City to aid in using the subway system. Linda is so helpful that she even told us to be near the rear of the train when we returned so that we were closer to the exit that we needed to take out of the subway station. We felt safe walking the streets when we returned from a long day in the city, although we were never out very late.
There is no doubt that the next time we go to New York we will choose to stay in Linda's property again. I'll also share this property with friends and family planning their own New York experiences.
