About Cassie Hurles
My name is Cassie Hurles, I have always lived in Texas (Dallas & Houston Areas) and all my summers were spent at the Frio River area. I met my husband, Darren (Daz) in 2001 while he was working here in the states. He moved here from Scotland in 2001. We then had our son, Connor in February 2004 and our daughter, Isla in May 2008. The first time I took my husband to the Frio River he fell in love and we kept the family tradition going with our kids, making it a must every year. Then we moved to the beautiful Texas Hill Country in April 2015 & bought Whiskey Mountain Inn on July 22, 2016. We are looking forward to this new adventure.

Why Cassie Hurles chose Leakey
My place is close to Garner State Park (3 Miles), Lost Maples Park, Frio River, Concan, Utopia, Kerrville, & Uvalde. The famous three sisters (best driving roads in the USA) You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), big groups, and furry friends (pets), Pets are an additional $15 per pet, per night.

Everything was so perfect. The cabin was cozy and had everything we needed. The location was Primo- so tranquil. Access to everything was easy. Could not have had a better stay. We did have some problems with scorpions inside but that is to be expected in a setting like that.
Not the best experince. No sheets, no towels, no soap bar. Generally did not look and feel very clean. 1 flimsy toilet roll for 5 guests. Squeaky beds, mosquitoes inside n outside. May be ok for a college crowd to use likea dorm room, but not for a family. We Cleaned place as much as we cud before checking out and yet got charged damage fee of $10 for apparently leaving one trash bag in the room. We Cant remember which trash bag we left behind as all 5 of us took turns to do a final check. We did not appreciate being fined as we did our best to leave the room cleaner than we found it, but the fine being just $10 We did not dispute it.
All of our amenities are disclosed on our website, some additional items are supplied via special requests. It is typical in the Hill Country area for most cabins to have the bare minimum. However when my husband and I purchased these cabins a couple of years ago we wanted to provide a unique experience in this area with a clean & rustic decorative interior and adequate supplies for our guest's Hill Country camping experience. We are unique in the area in that we have fully stocked kitchens, which include coffee, sugar, filters, salt & pepper, paper towels, dish soap & kitchen towels. We also supply liquid hand soap, trash bags and toilet paper to make it as convenient for our guests as possible. On the booking site and in your arrival instructions, we inform our guests that we only supply one of the above items to help get you started with your camping experience. We do appreciate your cleanliness, however our trash policy is communicated on the booking site and in the cabin.
We are sorry it was not to your satisfaction. We hope upon your next visit to our area you will find more adequate accommodations.
Have a blessed day!
Wonderful place to get away and be with family.
This was a perfect way for us to get away and spend time with our family. The cabin was clean and neat. The check-in and check-out instructions were so easy to follow. The best part about these accommodations would have to be the great job they did communicating with us all along the way. This was the first time we rented from VRBO and Cassie was so helpful in communicating everything we needed to know in order to make our trip the best it could be. Thank you.
Steve and his family took great care of our rental. We would have them back anytime. So happy you enjoyed your stay!
Cute little cabin!
I loved my stay at Whiskey Mountain! It was very clean and cute. The location was perfect, close to Garner and Leakey. Having the store on the property was convenient, and Cassie was a wonderful host. My dog and I would definitely stay again :)
Chillin’ at the River
We had a great time while staying at Whiskey Mountain. Very well kept. Quiet and peaceful. Everything you need when away from home.
Comfortable and quiet
Our family of four enjoyed our time at the cabin. Location can’t be beat for a trip to Garner. Watching the sunrise with our coffee on the front porch was lovely, while a fire pit in the back was great fun in the evening. Would return!
We are in a great central location, only 3 miles south of Leakey, TX. Very close to a lot of river crossings, starting at 2 miles away & on. 2 miles from a tube rental & shuttle. And only 3.5 miles from Garner State Park.
