Casa Serena (Serene Home) is located in a family neighborhood just under 3 blocks from the Malecon waterfront, which you will find is both a hub of family activities, as well as the center of lively night life. A convenience store is also 3 blocks away. A grocery store, many restaurants, shops and the downtown area are all within easy walking distance.
Casa Serena features a bright and airy open plan living, dining, and kitchen area. The living area includes comfy sofas, plenty of lamps for reading, and a brand new "smart" TV. The dining area has a large table that comfortably seats six, and access to the patio. The kitchen has been recently renovated with concrete countertops and open shelves, Talavera tile backsplash, and custom solid pine cabinetry. The kitchen has plenty of tableware for you and your guests, and cookware to enable you to prepare simple meals in the unlikely event that you get tired of eating out at La Paz's many wonderful restaurants, cafes, and bars.
The spacious second floor master suite was added to Casa Serena in 2015. The bedroom is furnished with a king bed and bedside tables. The room has a large built-in pine closet that includes both hanging space and drawers. The master bath features a double vanity and shower finished in beautiful Talavera tiles.
The main floor bedroom has a queen bed with bedside tables, an additional, single bed, and an armoire. This room has direct access to the enclosed completely private patio. The guest bath is adjacent to this bedroom. Both bedrooms are furnished with locally crafted pine furniture. The bedspreads were hand-woven in Oaxaca, Mexico. All bedding is 100% cotton.
We fell in love with La Paz the very first time we visited in 2004. La Paz isn't "touristy," but there are plenty of activities to keep us as busy as we like. At the same time, we find we can completely relax when we want to in Casa Serena. We hope you'll enjoy your stay, too, and come back to La Paz soon.
