Clear Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake in the State of California. Visitors enjoy fishing, swimming, sailing, wind surfing, water-skiing, boating, and riding jet skis. Individuals can rent boats and personal watercraft from several local businesses. Clear Lake can be found in beautiful Lake County, approximately 120 minutes northwest of Sacramento and 120 minutes northeast of San Francisco. For fourteen consecutive years Lake County has had the cleanest air in all of California. Winters are mild here, generally 40s and 50s and Summer temperatures are usually in the 80s and 90s.

The lake itself is truly magnificent. It stretches nearly twenty miles in length and includes over 100 miles of shoreline. Considered a “warm water” lake, the bass fishing is unrivaled as witnessed by the many fishing tournaments held here annually. The record large mouth bass caught out of this lake weighed a whopping 17.52 pounds!

Clear Lake is a clean, healthy, nutrient rich lake which can produce algae blooms during periods of warm temperatures, particularly in mid-August.

About Christy and Dave

We have owned this home for over fifteen years. Our children have grown up vacationing with us at this very special place. They caught their first fish off the dock here, developed a love for nature and learned to water ski. It's our pleasure to share this unique property with you and your family.

Christy and Dave purchased this house in 2000

What makes this house unique

This property is one of the few lakefront homes on Clear Lake that offers so much space and privacy. Majestic oak trees offer plenty of shade on a warm summer day.

Large lawn area just above beach to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Located in a protected cove that provides smooth water for water-skiing, tubing, kayaking and fishing.

Lots of wildlife, including deer that visit meadow above house on a daily basis, great blue heron that perch on the dock to catch a fish for a meal, otters, turtles, grebes and more.

Private pier and large dock to moor boats, fish, swim or just relax on. Catch bass and catfish right off the dock.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dave and Christy,

Your place is fantastic, I caught to two bass in the 4-5 lb range on a spawning bed at your dock, Eileen and I have been to wineries daily, well organized and the comfort we were looking for, we came back one day and a deer was bedded down in the shrubs at the carport as though he was your pet.

Thank You,

Al and Eileen

Great Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My family had a wonderful time on our second stay at the Lakefront Paradise property. We really enjoyed the backyard, especially since the lake is right there. The green area right before the bridge unto to the dock is a great place for kids to run and have fun. The house is well kept and in great order and we appreciated the updated furnishings. There is plenty to do with the family between the kayaking (which was provided at the site), books, movies, boardgames, and fishing we couldn't ask for more. The people in Clearlake are also really nice and appreciative of your business. We plan on taking a long trip and short trip every year to this site. Keep up the great work we really love it.

Fabulous Lakefront Property!

  • 5 of 5

Our family spent a week at Lakefront Paradise during the week of the Labor Day holiday. The home and property were fabulous. Home was very clean and fresh and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The beds were comfortable and the cooling system kept the home comfortable even during 100 plus degree days. The water filtration system worked great, the water smelled fresh and clean (we saw a previous review that said the water had an odor to it). There is plenty of cookware, dishes and utensils. The BBQ worked great. Home has Wi-Fi and nice HDTV with plenty of cable channels and local sports coverage. Views from the home, deck and property of the lake are absolutely beautiful. We used the kayaks provided by owners. It was easy to launch them right from shore at the ramp and the cove is protected from the wind so it is perfect for kayaking. We spent much of our time on the large dock fishing and swimming. The water was warm and the dock has a swim ladder. The fishing off the dock was excellent, we caught many large mouth bass and a 15 pound catfish. We enjoyed watching the egrets and great blue heron that frequented the cove as well as the family of river otters that swam by. We ventured out to visit several wineries in the area and highly recommend doing that as many are located on very scenic properties and the wine is fantastic. Many of the wineries don't charge for tasting or charge only $5 which they refund if you buy a bottle of wine. Very relaxed atmosphere at the wineries. Everyone we ran across was very friendly, the county has a small town country feeling to it, a refreshing escape from the hectic Bay Area. We ate at several very good restaurants that the owners recommended to us. We definitely plan to come back to Lakefront Paradise again in the future!

Lakefront Paradise - Our Home Away

  • 5 of 5

We've been coming to Lakefront Paradise now for 12 years. We're Clear Lake veterans, and stayed in various vacation homes around the lake before discovering this one -- at which point, we knew we'd never go anywhere else again.

My husband loves fishing - and the dock set-up is ideal. And I enjoy the fabulous deck and lake views, along with the all of the "comforts of home" that the spacious house provides (great WiFi, TV, furnishings and fitted-out kitchen). But most important for us, the owners take a personal interest in the property and are always available if we have questions or special needs.

A sense of serenity permeates the place; it's just far enough from town to feel entirely remote - while still being close enough to easily access services. And the surrounding woods are filled with beautiful wildlife. I cannot imagine a better place for a getaway!

We come up at least 2x per year, and plan to continue doing so for as long as we can . . .

Great location. Beautiful view.

  • 5 of 5

Wish I could have stayed longer. The house was great. The kids loved jumping off the dock and swimming. The kayak got lots of use. That was a favorite. We brought a jet ski and it was great having the dock. I wasn't sure how clear the water would be but it was fine. The water on the other side of the lake was really really green and gross and smelly but not on the side where this house is. The Alhambra water was a nice touch. Instant hot and cold. There was even a fire pit and we roasted marshmallows. I did have to call the owner once and he picked right up and was very nice. We brought our dog and had permission and it's so great not to leave her behind since she is part of the family. But no worries because the place was very clean and fresh. I've stayed other pet friendly places that were not too clean. If you are considering this place it's very private and relaxing.

Overrated, not worth the money.

  • 1 of 5

We were very disappointed in this rental. On first arrival this home appears to be a converted Mobile home. As soon as we opened the door we were hit with a musty and mildew/mold smell that never went away. The home had been very recently cleaned but just didn't smell like it. The rental has a swamp cooler not A/C which did not keep the house cool at all. In fact the swampcooler which uses water to cool the air made every thing feel damp. Beds, sheets and couches always damp. Carpet in the bathrooms which is discusting. Masterbath Shower was full of ants. Water into the house is lake water and smells like the algae in the lake. Taking a shower you never feel clean and smell worse than you did before the shower. The "beach" was non existent as the reeds in the water grew all the way to the shore and were about three feet tall. The only small water entrance was at the boat ramp which the cement was completely slimy and slippery so you couldn't safely enter from there either. But honestly the water was so full of algae you don't want to go in!!!

Unrelated to the owner but important information to have before booking this home: there are no activities in town if you leave the rental. The Clearlake area appears to be overrun with Meth addicts. The few restaurants around are substandard (pack in all your food), the neighbors three doors down love to play their music to be heard for miles and will speed by in their boats very close to your dock morning and night.

Needless to say, we cut our trip short only staying two nights in our week rental.

Owner's Response: Debbie, we are truly sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience. We do everything possible to make our home and property comfortable and enjoyable for our guests and utilize feedback to make things better for our future guests. We do wish that you had called us during your stay with your concerns. We are always available to address issues or provide suggestions on things to do, places to see or good restaurants in the area. Lake County has much to offer with many fabulous wineries, State Parks, beaches, hiking trails and country museums. We have a caretaker who is available seven days a week that could have come out during your stay and addressed any issues with the ants, slippery boat launch, cooling system and water system. We have had the cooling system and our commercial water filtration system serviced since your stay and they are working very well without the issues that you describe. We have never experienced that issue with the cooling system and the water filtration system produces fresh clean water in the house. The neighbors you refer to were guests staying at another vacation rental in our cove. We are located in a very quiet peaceful cove on the lake. Our cleaners do a meticulous job of cleaning the house and we constantly get great feedback from our guests about how clean and fresh the home is. We are located in the deepest arm of the lake and algae is much less of an issue than other parts of the lake. There is algae in the lake in August when it gets very hot and temperatures were over 100 degrees during your stay. We have been renting our vacation home now for almost ten years with over 500 bookings and this is the first and only one star rating we have received so your experience is certainly not typical. We do everything we possibly can to make every stay a memorable experience for each of our guests and most of our business is from repeat guests as a result. Regards, Dave and Christy

Beat Vacation on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

It was bigger than expected and had all the ammenanitie when away from home. The fishing was the best and had the best water toys for the kids. Its tucked away from all the crouds and perfect for peace and quite. The kitchen has all the utensils and a nice bbq as well. All in all a good deal for the money.

Thanks Robert N.
