About Bruno

Friends who own other beautiful villas asked to join in and rent their properties with my help. I was pleased to do it as I had a lot of requests about houses overlooking the sea in Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.

At VillatoRent.it, we are glad to present our selection of wonderful villas and apartments in the most fascinating vacation spots in Italy: the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento coast. We offer only selected properties with special features, such as sea views, pools, Italian interior designs, Wi-Fi Internet access, and great locations...not just a simple place to sleep.

I would like to invite you to browse our properties and visit this fantastic land where we live.

One of the best villas we have ever stayed in

  • 5 of 5

A wonderful villa for facilities and location. Is there another villa in Sorrento with such a wonderful view across the Bay of Naples and so close to the main square?

Add to that private parking within a beautiful garden and a wonderful host and agent, it is hard to imagine a better villa in Italy and possibly anywhere on the med.

Highly recommended.

Villa Donna Elisa

  • 5 of 5

Madame Elisa was a wonderful hostess,

knowledgeable, kind and lovely to meet and visit with. We will miss her as much as we miss Sorrento.

Our only disappointment was that there was no access to a swimming pool as stated in the listing.

The listing should be corrected for future bookings.

Awe-inspiring...

  • 5 of 5

To be very honest, we wish we did not have to leave a review so I could keep this jem all to ourselves! We very much enjoyed our visit to Villa Donna Elisa again this year. It was our 6th year in a row! Madame Elisa has really thought of everything and the house feels like our home away from home. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are always freshly pressed. The house is perfect with lots of space. Beautiful bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen, and terraces off every room with ocean views! As you enter through the front gate you see the beautiful gardens. The smell of the flowers and citrus is amazing. The view as you sit on the balconie(s) is breathtaking. Really I don't know if the location could have been more perfect. We look forward to coming and visiting again, year after year. Madame Elisa is the perfect host and we consider her family now. Thank you Elisa for sharing your home with us.

Perfecto!

  • 5 of 5

Villa Donna Elisa in central Sorrento is exactly as advertised. We were 5-10 minutes walking distance from all the best attractions in Sorrento. You can take bus, train, car, or boat to anywhere on the Sorrento peninsula, Amalfi coast, and Napoli bay with very little advance notice. Unlike other parts of Italy, there was very little concern about pick-pockets or crime!

What we learned:

1) Hydrofoils are better than guided tours to Capri, Amalfi, Positano, Napoli, Vesuvio, etc.

2) Renting a boat and piloting it yourself is better than hydrofoils. Understanding the buoy system of parking boats in Positano, Prianio, Amalfi, Capri, etc, creates a tremendous amount of flexibility to shop, visit, and eat.

3) Renting a car is better than taking the Circumvesuviani train (it is scary, frankly).

4) Tasso restaurant serves the best food in the region and Tony and Franco are some of the nicest people you will meet. Tony even gave us his private mobile number and asked us to call/text him with any questions during our stay!

5) The Cathedrals and chiesas (churches) are not to be missed - yes there are a thousand beautiful churches to be seen throughout Italy.

6) There are many cute stores all over the coast and most of them sell the exact same stuff. The further you get away from Sorrento towards Amalfi, the higher prices tended to get.

This was the 3rd leg of a 2-week honeymoon for us (Roma, Venezia, and Sorrento), so we experienced other situations.

If I had a chance to do it again, I would have:

1) Called Donna Elisa and asked her to have a Mercedes van meet us at the Napoli Centrale train station - eliminate the pick-pocket worries and undesirable local train.

2) Arrange for a 3-day boat rental with a local company through Donna Elisa (eliminate the hot waits for hydrofoils and the expensive day/night cruises).

3) I would have spent much more time in the surrounding little villages on the coast to balance the busy Sorrento city center. I never had a bad meal or a bad bottle of vino the entire trip.

4) Rent a taxi to go to the top of Anicapri/Capri (we walked for 20 minutes and realized that there were 800+ steps to the top -- the heat and hydrofoil would have prevented that -- we walked back down and paid 25EU to take a cab to the top).

5) Take a boat across the bay and then rent a van to take us to Vesuvio and avoid the trains/heat/lines.

6) Prepare more sandwiches to take on day trips and bring lots of w

5) Take a boat across the bay and then rent a van to take us to Vesuvio and avoid the trains/heat/lines.

6) Prepare more sandwiches to take on day trips and bring lots of water in the cooler. The stores were great and food was plentiful in the local markets. No real reason to eat out 2+ meals per day.

7) Figure out a reasonable way to bring back more local wines -- we stored 4 bottles from Amalfi and Sorrento in our checked luggage at 6-8EU each! Fabulous wines!

There were no meaningful negatives to this trip as far as the property was concerned! Cold A/C, comfortable beds, fabulous views, appliances that all worked, and the most lovely Italian "Nona"/hostess you could imagine.

Next time I will bring another couple (2 bed/2 bath situation), and we will have an even better value for the rent, but as this was our honeymoon, we appreciated the privacy.

I would give this 5.1 stars out of 5! I look forward to our next visit and pray that Donna Elisa remains in excellent health so we can see her again!

Great stay, best location in Sorrento

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Villa, and the property is amazing in condition, location and views. The grounds are like a botanical garden, and the views are the best in Sorrento. Elisa was a perfect host, and very welcoming and friendly. You are literally a five minute walk from the main square, and can be anywhere on foot in Sorrento in less than 15 minutes. The villa was spotlessly clean and maintained. This is a special place, and we hope to come back!
