Located on the beautiful southeastern Caribbean Coast of Costa Rica and within Gandoca-Mazanillo wildlife Refuge, Villa Noor is the perfect getaway for absolute tranquility. With its private access to a magnificent unspoiled beach, Villa Noor sits on 5 acres of tropical garden where you can find giant rainforest trees, a small creek, birds, howler monkeys and other wildlife species. The beach house is situated just before Manzanillo village: the journey from San Jose is about 3.5 - 4 hours depending on the traffic conditions. (Ask us for more details on how to get to the property).
Built in 2011, Villa Noor has all the commodities of a modern house: Wi-Fi, cable plasma TV, DVD player, fully equipped kitchen, hot water, etc. The property has its own private road to get to the sandy almost-deserted beach (just 100 meters). The house has 2 floors (220m2) and can keep up to 9 persons. On the first floor, there is one big bedroom with a double bed, one bathroom, a spacious open living/dinning area with a sofa bed, a plasma TV, a DVD player (bring along your favorite movies and music). Also, there’s a dinning area that can seat up to 12 people. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, stoves, oven, microwave, toaster, coffee machine, pans, cutleries, chinaware, etc. On the second floor, there are 2 big bedrooms: one with queen + single bed and the other room with a double bed. Also, you will find a private modern bathroom. You will also enjoy the spacious chilled-out terrace with its beautiful tropical garden view, its 2 hammocks and comfortable seats. The whole house is screened for mosquito protection. Towels and linens are provided.
Nearby villages and activities:
Manzanillo and Puerto Viejo are a unique Caribbean blend of local Costa Rican people, Jamaican descendants, indigenous people, worldwide expats, tourists, surfers, backpackers, etc. The atmosphere and energy in that area is very laid-back and relaxed.
Manzanillo (600m) is a small fishing village with a few restaurants, grocery shops and small boutiques. Make sure you don’t miss Manzanillo’s famous seafood restaurant: Maxi’s. Puerto Viejo (13 km) is a very chilled-out village where you will find more options for restaurants, bars, nightlife entertainments, etc. Also in Puerto Viejo: ATM’s, a drugstore, a doctor, a Bank, some boutiques, big supermarkets.
Activities close to Villa Noor include: kayaking, swimming, windsurfing, wildlife viewing, snorkeling/diving, biking, fishing, boating and restaurants/bars.

Excellent location, we loved it. Great for 2 families with kids.
Overall an excellent stay and we would recommend. The location is perfect: very short walk on a cool path, and close enough to Manzanillo for occasional groceries or to eat out or visit the park.
During our stay in January 2018 there was a large ocean vessel abandoned on the beach immediately in front of villa noor. The kids were fascinated and it created a nice sandbar for playing, but still a shock to discover without warning. We were sad to not have hammocks or a working dryer urine our stay. We ended up taking our humid clothes to puerto to wash/dry, which was expensive!
One of our favorite parts of the stay was having the unique luxury of a near private beach combined with just enough jungle to impress: sloths, monkeys (spiDer and howler) and lots of neat birds, the location is ideal. Thanks for a great stay.
Very nice place we really enjoy our stay in the jungle.
The house is very well located in the jungle with direct acces to the beach. It would benefit a good cleaning and refresh but we enjoyed our stay very much. We saw a lot of wild animals right around the house and it was very nice.
great for what we wanted.
Very close to the tiny town with supplies, quiet, house big for 6 people. Only sleeps 7 max. Beach was private and a very short walk on their jungle path. Toucans visited every morning. A sloth was hanging on the tree by the house. The drive to P. Viejo is short for more action/shopping.
Felt like home
We were a party of 8+baby and had a wonderful stay. There was enough space so everybody could do what they wanted without bothering the rest. The closeness to the beach is really positive. We also liked that there wasn´t much people around that part of the beach.
All in all, we had a very nice family vacation and would book again!
villa noor small natural reserve
Sept 2017 ,The pics on VRBO accurately describe this home. Villa Noor is like a small nature reserve, beautiful, wildlife is everywhere, monkeys, sloths, turtles, hummingbirds, blue morphia butterflies, you don't even have to leave the property. The white sandy beach is 300 feet away with clean clear blue water. Five minutes after arriving at Villa Noor I was in the water so warm and refreshing. The house was comfortable for five people. Kitchen had everything you need. Manzanillo area is beautiful and friendly, remember this area is warm and humid all the time night and day. The house can get a little warm. There were 5 fans in the house. Our clothes did not dry much, even when they dried, they would become damp again. We did not need insect repellant. Lizards, toads, frogs, and spiders were busy controlling the insect population. One bottle of water was provided, it lasted us 24 hours. Then you purchase water. There were 2 dogs chained during the day and they guarded the house at night. Cindy was available to answer any questions throughout our week. We are already thinking about returning to Villa Noor. Owner is easy to communicate with and helpful.
Pictures are not enough, this is paradise!
Stayed with two young kids (9 and 12), wife and grandparents in August. Daily wake up call just before sunrise by resident troop of howler monkeys followed by the birds (toucans, parrots etc.). Follow the foot path through your own private jungle paradise to the perfect beach for swimming. Do not miss the Cocoa tour at the Cocoa Museum, Punta Uva beach or the Tree of Life rehabilitation centre. Too many fantastic restaurants in the area to mention. Thank you Manuel and Lucia for all your help and being such welcoming hosts.
