About the property

Townhome, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This sunny townhouse is located in a quiet neighborhood with incredible access to all that Mammoth Lakes has to offer no matter what the season. Annual festivals such as Bluesapalooza, Oktoberfest & Mammoth Lakes Jazz Jubilee are a short walk away, as is the 'Village' providing great restaurants, shopping and entertainment. The town shuttle stops at the bottom of our street & also runs directly behind the townhouse along Lake Mary Rd which is also the location of the paved Lake Mary bike path.

Inside we have taken care to update this mountain home & provide as allergin free an environment as possible. The sunny upstairs has wood floors, wood burning stove, fully equipped kitchen & plenty of room to entertain. Broadband WiFi access is free and we have a selection of DVD's available to play on our 44in flat screen TV.

Downstairs our two carpeted bedrooms have plenty of closet space, 32in TV's, alarm clocks.

The Kitchen

The kitchen has all stainless appliances and since this is our mountain retreat we generally have a selection of spices and some basic supplies available for your convenience. We have a coffee maker, coffee grinder and electric kettle for those tea drinkers! Blender, hand mixer and baking dishes are available for those home cooked meals! There is a microwave and the oven is electric with glass range top. For the chef's assistant there is a dishwasher to make clean up easy. The dining area has a round table with four chairs and two additional bar stools to seat six when needed. Not planning on cooking? We have a great choice of local restaurants. Many offer 'Happy Hour' deals with hours ranging from 3pm-7pm. A selection of menus is available in the townhouse. Von's is our local grocery store, and they can provide all the supplies you may need.

Bedroom / Bathrooms

We tried to keep our townhome as allergin free as possible and for that reason we do not accommodate pets of any kind. All of the flooring with the exception of the bedrooms are hard surfaces. In the bedrooms we have carpeted floors and for your comfort have allergin free duvets. Each bedroom has a queen sized bed and 32' flat screen television. Alarm clocks are provided. The rear downstairs bedroom has a closet with the washer and dryer for your convenience.

The bathrooms both have ceiling heaters and hairdryers.

The living room has a woodstove with local stone hearth. A supply of wood is available during the winter months. The living room also doubles as the third sleeping area there is a closet area adjacent to the woodstove and guests have access to the upstairs bathroom. A full size sleeper sofa is available for guests. There is a 44' flat screen television with cable provided as well as free broadband WiFi access. A laser printer and copier is available for your convenience. There is a DVD player and also a Wii system. Limited movies / games are available. We also have a selection of board games and some books as well as information about the local area.

About The Owner

We have traveled extensively throughout North America, Europe and around the world but have been consistently drawn back to the mountains. Loving to hike, ski and be outdoors as much as possible it wasn't long before we found Mammoth Lakes and realized this was the perfect destination no matter what the season for our family. We hope you will fall in love with the area as much as we have.

The Owner purchased this townhome in 2011

Why The Owner chose Gold Country / High Sierra

We love all that the Eastern Sierra has to offer. The ability to enjoy outdoor recreation all year round. Providing one of the longest ski/snowboard season's in the country is a huge advantage. When the snow is gone the summer months provide wonderful weather with low humidity and plenty of stunning scenery to enjoy. Enjoy hiking the many scenic trails in the area as well as relaxing at the festivals and concerts that the town of Mammoth Lakes offers.

What makes this townhome unique

In the winter months the townhouse is in the perfect location with the free town shuttle literally stopping on the doorstep and providing easy access to Eagle, Canyon and Tamarack lodges as well as the Village gondala. During summer months walk the short distance down to the Village and the local festivals. Enjoy the mountain lifestyle while having easy access to everything.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We stayed in this property for a long weekend in October. We 4 adults and one 3 year old. We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is convenient to go to twin lake, lake mary etc for sightseeing and fishing. The living area and kitchen of this unit is really comfortable. The picture posted by owner actually under sell the living area and kitchen. The remodeling done in kitchen is quite high end. During night, when you turn on all the lights in this area, it looks very nice. You can also burn some wood in the fireplace and unwind here with your family. If we ever come back to Mammath lake, we will definitely stay here again.

Close to Eagle Lodge

  • 5 of 5

Great 2 bed/2 bath condo. Kept us very comfortable. Only 1 assigned parking spot, but open parking is very close. The yellow line shuttle stop to Eagle Lodge and the Village is a 1 min walk away. Full kitchen allowed us to cook all our meals.

Great Mammoth condo

  • 5 of 5

We were a party of 4 and the condo was perfect. Bus stop right out front made it easy to get to the mountain. The condo had everything we needed including 2 full bathrooms. Kitchen was fully stocked for the home cooking we did. TV and DVD player made for some good movie time after skiing. Wood burning fire place really warmed up the place. Lots of wood right on the deck to keep the fire going.

Lacked central heating

  • 3 of 5

Condo was clean and adequate for a short stay but lacked central heating. There were portable heaters to use but these would not be adequate if it were really cold. The condo was also too far from parking area although you were allowed to park with 150 feet of the condo to unload. The sidewalk was not cleared of ice and snow. I would not want to walk to the bus stop in my ski boots from this location. I was also disappointed to find there was no Jacuzzi in the complex for after ski relaxation. And there were way too many rules, like no shoes were allowed upstairs because it could damage the flooring. There are two bedrooms downstairs and one bathroom to share because the other bathroom is upstairs on the same floor as the kitchen and living room, not convenient at night.

Owner's Response: Dear Yvonne, Thanks for the feedback on your stay. The property is well heated with underfloor heating in the downstairs bathroom and entry, as well as electric wall heaters in all rooms which are thermostatically controlled for individual comfort. The wood stove when operated can heat the whole house to almost sauna like conditions! Additionally, we have provided portable electric oil heaters for back up usage should guests need them. I’m disappointed to hear the sidewalk was icy for you. Our community has a great onsite manager who keeps the exterior well maintained. It’s always good to know when there is an issue we can resolve while you are staying at the property instead of after so we can address it. The building does not have parking immediately in front of it but as you noted there is a drop off area within 150 feet and the bus stop is a very short walk from the front door. Our guests often comment on how quiet the property is and how they enjoy listening to nature and star gazing from the balcony, and even watching their children build snowmen in the open area out front. Not having vehicles and their intrusive lights immediately outside the unit greatly adds to that cabin feel we love so much. We don’t advertise a jacuzzi as an amenity for our property or the community we are in but can always help with recommendations for local places to enjoy. The bedroom and bathroom configuration is as noted in the property description. This property is an owner operated property, Mammoth Lakes is a place we love so much and feel so very blessed to be able to own there. We want our guests to feel like it is their home from home and it has been furnished and equipped to feel that way versus a commercial property. Unfortunately, not everyone is careful with hiking boots and ski boots and the damage they can cause to the upstairs wood floors, so for that reason we put a few rules in place. I’m sure you can appreciate that.

Everything you need for a winter trip to the mountain

  • 5 of 5

Felt cozy and comfortable! Had all of the necessary things and more for our snowboarding trip. Great location, close enough to walk to the village or take the shuttle to the lifts. It is extremely clean and I hope to stay here again!
