Alexandra Howard purchased this cabin in 2005
Surrounded by endless activities and attractions, while still having peace and quiet in your mountain home.
If you've ever fantasized as a child about living in a tree house, then Two Rock Treehouse is your house for Wrent.
This rental was absolutely beautiful, and we fully enjoyed our stay. The house is perfectly laid out and was very comfortable. There was even a washer and dryer! Alexandra was so easy to work with and sent detailed instructions. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this rental!
Extremely clean and exquisitely decorated. Felt like a true mountain cabin. Owners are great to work with and our trip was wonderful. Very close to all Boone, NC has to offer. We went tubing at Hawksnest and exploring the surrounding mountains. Has a great time and we will be back.
We so enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The cabin is small, but does not lack any ambiance for mountain living. It is very nicely stocked, and we never had a need for anything that was not provided. Loved the sheets on the master bed! So soft!!! The stairs up to the front door were a chore for us with old knees...but the cabin is worth the work you put in on the stairs. Loved working with this owner. So sweet and always willing to help with questions. Would I use this home again??? YES...with no reservations about my decision. We also loved that we were out from Boone, but only a ten to twelve minute drive into town.
This cabin is full of charm, very neat and clean and had all that we needed. We were able to cook meals as cabin had all we needed! Beds were comfy, shower had good pressure, and living space was perfect to lounge in with kids. We had a hard time deciding between staying in Boone, Blowing Rock or Banner Elk and were pleased that we decided on Banner Elk. We loved hiking in Linville Falls and enjoyed rock climbing with Footslogger in Boone. We could have spent a week here and still had stuff to do!
This cabin was perfect. Very clean and centrally located to everything we had planned to do and even some excursions that were not planned. Would highly recommend and hope to be back soon. Thanks for a wonderful experience.
My family loved our stay at Two Rock Treehouse. We mainly wanted somewhere to relax for a few days after a hectic week visiting DC and New York, on our family adventure over from the UK. The Treehouse was perfect. We loved the peace and tranquility, combined with the convenience of the location. The facilities at Mill Ridge Community were great for our kids (11y.o. & 16 y.o.) - beautiful tennis courts (racquets provided by the Treehouse), a clean swimming pool, basketball hoop and pretty places to walk. We loved grilling on the deck every evening, and watching a variety of birds visiting the feeders. We didn't go out too much as we were there for a rest from sightseeing, but really enjoyed Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and the views from Blue Ridge Parkway. For families wanting to be more active there was so much to do - rafting, kayaking, zip lining and horse riding all near by. But best of all was the feeling that we were special visitors in a much loved family home with all our needs catered for by Alex, a wonderful hostess! I can definitely recommend this cabin as a quaint and charming place to stay, with plenty to do for older children.
Everything was great, Alex was very pleasant and accommodating and responsive. I would definitely recommend it. We loved the area, it was easy to find and a short drive from every kind of activity. We did a lot of hiking and canoeing on Julian Price Lake. Visited Boone. Saw the Linville falls and caves. Down the road was a little hidden gem called Otter Falls, I'd definitely recommend that.
It was also nice having the Watauga river right there, and community pool available, my son loves to swim.
Unfortunately it rained a lot, but the Olympics were on, so having wifi and satellite TV was awesome. We may have gone a little crazy otherwise.
My only minor complaint is that the one room where my son slept was very musty. He didn't complain but would wake up sneezy and stuffy. I understand it must be really difficult to avoid that in that particular environment, but it was a little overpowering.
Banner Elk is the ski capital of the south and the city has just celebrated its 100th anniversary. The cottage is centrally located within 8 miles of the 4 ski/tubing resorts, the city of Seven Devils, Linville, Boone, Blowing Rock and the rural town of Valle Crusis. World-class restaurants serving superb mountain cuisine are scattered all over the area. Within a couple of minutes of Downtown Foscoe includes specialty shop's, antique stores , flea markets, country stores, old fashion gas station/grocery store (serving breafast, lunch and a Friday Fish Fry). Trout fishing, swiming holes, white water rafting.
The backroads hold offbeat settlements such as Valle Crucis,( latin for 'Vale of the Cross') off us-194 where the original 1883 Mast General Store well worth a look for its cast-iron, outdoor gear and a 5 cent cup of coffee. This rural community has stayed untouched for two hundred years.....or Maybe just do nothing and sit on our deck and smell the crisp fresh mountain air!
