ENJOY HISTORIC SAVANNAH or a 15-minute drive to TYBEE ISLAND BEACH, passing gorgeous low-country rivers & marshes. ARDSLEY PLACE is a cozy, comfy, eclectically decorated single family home located in Savannah's first suburban neighborhood, Ardsley Park, within blocks of downtown Savannah. Ardsley Place, circa 1940, has beautiful wood floors, high ceilings, is bright & airy and is decorated with original & unique furnishings/artwork. An enormous 100-year old pecan tree adorns the backyard & provides a scenic, private & shady patio environment to relax & have a cool drink. With 4 Bedrooms/2 full Bathrooms, Ardsley Place is stocked with everything you'll need to have a fabulous vacation, including very comfy beds!! BRAND NEW ON THE VACATION MARKET!!
Benefits of Ardsley Place vs. Downtown Savannah: Staying in Downtown Savannah is fun, but has its drawbacks. I've stayed downtown in hotels, vacation rentals and B & B's several times before I bought this house. It's noisy throughout the night with over-imbibed and zealous revelers hollering in the streets or fish/vegetable trucks hauling produce in the wee hours of the morning. The downtown area also has several inner-city pockets into which a pedestrian would not want to wander unknowingly at night. Ardsley Place will give you the proximity of downtown Savannah and quiet, SAFE, serene evenings without all the traffic and city noise.
Ardsley Park Background: Bordering historic downtown Savannah, the Ardsley Park neighborhood was built in the '30's and '40's as the first suburban neighborhood for the downtown business area. It has been rated Savannah's TOP neighborhood every year for the past 7 years for it's beauty, majestic oaks, historic significance and safe streets. Ardsley Place is centrally-located within blocks of downtown Savannah and easy driving access to the marshy inland islands and Tybee Island Beach.
Other attributes of Ardsley Place: Ardsley Place is stocked with meaningful selections of my grandmother's antique furniture and glassware collections. She was born the year the Titanic sunk, so her collection dates back to the 19th century. Ardsley Place also has a full security system. A large, city block-sized park is located approximately 3 houses away with swings and play sets. It's a beautiful park to take kids or dog to, and is also large enough to enjoy a picnic lunch or jog through.
My family of six: myself (female widow), my brother & wife, their daughter (also widowed), her 17 yr. old daughter & 10 yr. old son wanted to take a family trip to Savannah. The females went online looking for places to stay. One of the places we found was Ardsley Place. We liked the picture of the house & rooms & it was within our price range, so I rented it earlier in the year. We arrived Oct 5, 2015, & left Oct 9. The house looks exactly as you see in the pictures. Lisa has beautifully decorated it. It was adequate for our family of six, although with 3 families & 2 bathrooms we had to do some taking turns. The driveway is a little narrow backing out, but we made it without hitting anything !. We ate out some and ate in the house some. There's just about anything you need in the kitchen. I did buy one thing. I wanted to make omelets in a bag for breakfast one day & my sister-in-law wanted to make a low country shrimp boil for one dinner. We wanted a larger pot than we found there, so I bought a stock pot at Walmart. I can use it anyway, so I bought it & brought it home with me. But I think you will find just about anything you need. We loved the dishes, bowls, etc. The beds are very comfortable as is the living room furniture. I think you will enjoy staying there & you can see I gave it a 5-star rating. I've never met Lisa, but we've exchanged some nice emails since I first contacted her about renting it. We were close to the things we wanted to see & do - just needed more time to do more things !. We went to Tybee Island, the beach, River St. on the Savannah river, the Juliette Gordon Low house. She is the lady that started Girl Scouts & my niece & her daughter have been involved with them for about 11 years or more. We spent a good part of a day in Forsythe Park - it's beautiful. Some of the places we ate out were Panera Bread, Lighthouse Pizza (I had delicious spaghetti - the rest had pizza), The Crab Shack (delicious food & we asked for a table near the river), and Waffle House. There are many places to shop - more than we had time to go to. I think you will be well pleased if you stay there. Betty D. Moore Co. Tn
This is such a lovely house and accomodated eight women perfectly. We loved the art work and quaintness of this house, plus it is located SOOOOO close to downtown Historic Savannah and Tybee Island. It's in a lovely neighborhood. We loved our stay and highly recommend this adorable home to anyone. Plus, Lisa is FANTASTIC to work with and gives great advice about Savannah.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ardsley Place! The house was immaculate, the furnishings stylish and comfortable, and the neighborhood quiet and convenient. Trust the pictures and descriptions of this rental - they are 100% accurate. Only 10 minutes from the historic river district, Ardsley Place offers guests all the comforts of home with plenty of space for the entire family. You'll love the well-stocked kitchen! And the fenced backyard provides a safe haven for your pup while the adjoining patio is a great place to relax after dinner. Lisa has thought of everything, right down to providing a list of things to do and see, area maps and local info. Oh, and be sure to check out the great selection of books in the display case while you're there. Look no further - this is THE perfect place to stay when visiting Savannah and neighboring Tybee Island!
My family and I had a wonderful vacation at Lisa's place. The house is as pictured and very clean. There was enough room for my family of 9 including 3 boys. The kitchen was well equipped and the bathrooms had all the amenities. The beds were super comfy. It felt like home. We will definitely stay again and we will recommend Lisa's place to our friends.
What a charming house! It was just as it was pictured on the website but bigger than we expected. We were in town for our daughter's wedding and had planned to host a bridal party luncheon on the backyard patio, which would have been perfect. However, it rained, so we entertained our guest inside and everyone had a delightful time. Our guest enjoyed and commented on the eclectic furnishings and artwork. Lisa was great to work with. She quickly responded to all my questions and offered helpful suggestions as I made plans for my luncheon. This house would be great for anyone visiting Savannah. We would definitely rent it again!!
This house was perfect for us... very clean, room to spare, fenced-in back yard for the dog, and close enough to town to go in every day, a trek to Tybee Island, close to grocery shopping, and with so little gas used we were surprised. As others have said, it is just as advertised, and it worked out better than we expected. Lisa was great to work with, and we are already thinking of coming back next year
