Overview

About the property

4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 2 - 9

ENJOY HISTORIC SAVANNAH or a 15-minute drive to TYBEE ISLAND BEACH, passing gorgeous low-country rivers & marshes. ARDSLEY PLACE is a cozy, comfy, eclectically decorated single family home located in Savannah's first suburban neighborhood, Ardsley Park, within blocks of downtown Savannah. PERFECT FOR A CORPORATE OR VACATION RENTAL, Ardsley Place, circa 1940, has beautiful wood floors, high ceilings, is bright & airy and is decorated with original & unique furnishings/artwork. An enormous 100-year old pecan tree adorns the backyard & provides a scenic, private & shady patio environment to relax & have a cool drink. With 4 Bedrooms/2 full Bathrooms, Ardsley Place is stocked with everything you'll need to have a fabulous vacation, including very comfy beds!! A separate 2-car garage provides extra safety for your car(s); a full-size attic for suitcases, shopping spree purchases or ghost chasing; fenced private backyard provides a safe environment for you, your dog or your kids. BRAND NEW ON THE VACATION MARKET!!

Benefits of Ardsley Place vs. Downtown Savannah: Staying in Downtown Savannah is fun, but has its drawbacks. I've stayed downtown in hotels, vacation rentals and B & B's several times before I bought this house. It's noisy throughout the night with over-imbibed and zealous revelers hollering in the streets or fish/vegetable trucks hauling produce in the wee hours of the morning. The downtown area also has several inner-city pockets into which a pedestrian would not want to wander unknowingly at night. Ardsley Place will give you the proximity of downtown Savannah and quiet, SAFE, serene evenings without all the traffic and city noise.

Ardsley Park Background: Bordering historic downtown Savannah, the Ardsley Park neighborhood was built in the '30's and '40's as the first suburban neighborhood for the downtown business area. It has been rated Savannah's TOP neighborhood every year for the past 7 years for it's beauty, majestic oaks, historic significance and safe streets. Ardsley Place is centrally-located within blocks of downtown Savannah and easy driving access to the marshy inland islands and Tybee Island Beach.

Other attributes of Ardsley Place: Ardsley Place is stocked with meaningful selections of my grandmother's antique furniture and glassware collections. She was born the year the Titanic sunk, so her collection dates back to the 19th century. Ardsley Place also has a full security system. A large, city block-sized park is located approximately 3 houses away with swings and play sets. It's a beautiful park to take kids or dog to, and is also large enough to enjoy a picnic lunch or jog through.

Charming, Comfy, Convenient to all Savannah sites

  • 5 of 5

This place is a wonderful “Home Away” in the Savannah area. I rented this home for an extended stay while working a consulting position in Savannah, Georgia.

1.) The location is extremely convenient. The location is within a few miles of the restaurants, historical sites and scenes you will want to enjoy while in Savannah. It is a close drive to the Tybee Island beach.

2.) The kitchen, bedrooms and entire house are equipped with all the items you would hope to find on a vacation stay. Plenty of attention to the smaller details such as kitchen necessities for cooking, clothes hangers, plenty of towels, pillows and other household items for a comfortable stay.

3.) The owner, Lisa is a joy to work with and very accommodating and helpful. Her sunny personality shines through every conversation when working out the details for rental and any associated questions which may arise.

4.) The décor of the home itself is filled with interesting artwork and antiques. She has really created a light, happy, cozy atmosphere. There is most definitely plenty of space. There is even a lovely area to sit outside in the mornings or evenings drinking your coffee … or wine as the mood suits you! 😊

5.) The home is in a great neighborhood with so many other interesting homes to see. I brought my bike and rode around the area just to enjoy viewing the Savannah style homes in the area. There are no “cookie cutter” homes in this neighborhood. People are friendly and I felt very safe in this home and neighborhood!

Overall, Lisa’s home provided a charming place of calm where I could relax each day after work, enjoy cooking in the kitchen and easily go sightseeing or shopping to Savannah’s many historical areas. It truly was a “home away”. This home certainly deserves a “highly recommend”!

Thanks, Lisa!!

Amazing Savannah Stay!!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I have vacationed in Savannah many times but this was most certainly our best stay yet. This home was so comfortable and well stocked with all of our necessities, we ended up spending more time there than downtown. We enjoyed more than one home cooked meal out in the lovely backyard, a luxury we don't get to experience often enough when traveling. There was also plenty of room for my kids and their friends, leaving no one to sleep on the couch. I had my concerns about safety since we have stayed near some sketchy neighborhoods in the past, but we felt safe and sound in this beautiful historic area. My kids loved the park within walking distance. Overall a wonderful time and I am sure to bring my family back!

Best home away from home

  • 5 of 5

This house was the best home i’ve ever had the pleasure of staying in. i was in savannah for corporate training for 2 months and didn’t want to leave when my job was up!! this house had everything…..spacious, beautiful, comfortable, safe, nicely decorated, perfect and gorgeous neighborhood, clean as a whistle, quiet surroundings, everything. it’s 5 minutes away from downtown, and super close to everything…the hospital, publix, the mall, restaurants, etc. i stayed with 3 other people in my company and we all had our own bedroom and plenty of privacy. the rooms are very large, each one with a queen or king bed that is so comfortable!!! there is plenty of space in the living room and dining room and the kitchen is also spacious with every utensil, pot/pan, etc that could ever be needed!! the back yard is wonderful with lots of space, well maintained, and quiet with a huge shady pecan tree and outside furniture to relax in. it’s fenced in, so great for a dog. and a separate 2 car garage so we could park our car and store extra items. the house is in a safe, family neighborhood with mossy oak trees and a park down the street. it was perfect for my evening walks and i even made a few neighborhood friends. so i highly recommend this house if you want to truly enjoy savannah as a visitor or as a corporate residence. the price is right for what you get and Lisa is so easy to work with. her housekeeping staff is amazing too and will come to clean during your stay.

We stayed at Ardsley Place

  • 5 of 5

My family of six: myself (female widow), my brother & wife, their daughter (also widowed), her 17 yr. old daughter & 10 yr. old son wanted to take a family trip to Savannah. The females went online looking for places to stay. One of the places we found was Ardsley Place. We liked the picture of the house & rooms & it was within our price range, so I rented it earlier in the year. We arrived Oct 5, 2015, & left Oct 9. The house looks exactly as you see in the pictures. Lisa has beautifully decorated it. It was adequate for our family of six, although with 3 families & 2 bathrooms we had to do some taking turns. The driveway is a little narrow backing out, but we made it without hitting anything !. We ate out some and ate in the house some. There's just about anything you need in the kitchen. I did buy one thing. I wanted to make omelets in a bag for breakfast one day & my sister-in-law wanted to make a low country shrimp boil for one dinner. We wanted a larger pot than we found there, so I bought a stock pot at Walmart. I can use it anyway, so I bought it & brought it home with me. But I think you will find just about anything you need. We loved the dishes, bowls, etc. The beds are very comfortable as is the living room furniture. I think you will enjoy staying there & you can see I gave it a 5-star rating. I've never met Lisa, but we've exchanged some nice emails since I first contacted her about renting it. We were close to the things we wanted to see & do - just needed more time to do more things !. We went to Tybee Island, the beach, River St. on the Savannah river, the Juliette Gordon Low house. She is the lady that started Girl Scouts & my niece & her daughter have been involved with them for about 11 years or more. We spent a good part of a day in Forsythe Park - it's beautiful. Some of the places we ate out were Panera Bread, Lighthouse Pizza (I had delicious spaghetti - the rest had pizza), The Crab Shack (delicious food & we asked for a table near the river), and Waffle House. There are many places to shop - more than we had time to go to. I think you will be well pleased if you stay there. Betty D. Moore Co. Tn

This is such a lovely house and accomodated eight women perfectly. We loved the art work and quaintness of this house, plus it is located SOOOOO close to downtown Historic Savannah and Tybee Island. It's in a lovely neighborhood. We loved our stay and highly recommend this adorable home to anyone. Plus, Lisa is FANTASTIC to work with and gives great advice about Savannah.
