House, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 2-10)

Soak in the luxurious natural hot springs water on the private covered deck. You will be looking out at glaciated peaks and the deep blue waters of Upper Arrow Lake. The relaxing earth tones in the house make it easy to sit back and enjoy the sattelite radio with your choice of music. This three bedroom home has four queen size beds that can accomodate 2-8 guests comfortably. A large kitchen with all the essentials makes putting meals together easy. There is no beach at the home. There is a restaurant and bar located just one mile away along with a small beach and dock at the Halcyon Resort. A DVD player is also available with about 50 movies to choose from. Some books and games are also there for your entertainment. Many people enjoy just soaking and relaxing in the hot springs water. However if you like action, the area is best known for incredible snowmobiling and heli/cat skiing during the winter! Families can ski and snowboard locally at Summit Lakes Ski Hill or enjoy the experience of Revelstoke Mountain resort. While summer time brings gentle kayaking on the lake and hikes through alpine wildflowers to stunning waterfalls! Families might want to check out The Enchanted Forest and Sky Trek which are 1 1/2 hours away to the North. The first one is a path through the woods with story book characters, elves, little houses and tree forts. The bigger kids of all ages will enjoy Sky Trek where they can climb safely among the trees and experience the thrill of a zip line. Both Nakusp and Revelstoke have restaurants, museums, paved walking paths, beaches and parks. The home is near Halcyon Resort which has a spa, massages and a restaurant. If fishing is what you are after Upper Arrow Lake has world class trout in the fall and winter months. So, there are year round experiences that are as memorable as the natural hot springs! About Martha Dyck

Steve, Terri and Evan Matthews enjoy exploring the outdoors and sharing it with friends. When we found the home in Nakusp BC we were absolutely delighted by the positive spiritual experience we gained from the hot springs and the local people! We ran a snowcat skiing operation in Idaho for 17 years and understand hospitality. Our goal is to bring our outdoor experience to the Hot Springs Escape!

Martha Dyck purchased this house in 2005

Why Martha Dyck chose British Columbia Mountains

The mountain ranges in Nakusp and Revelstoke British Columbia are the best in the world for snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding. Since there are favorite sports of ours this opportunity was a dream come true. In the summer months we enjoy mountain biking, kayaking and hiking. While the activities help us stay healthy and activie the hot springs bring healing and relaxation.

What makes this house unique

Sitting in the hot tub looking out at Mt. Odin from your hot springs pool is an experience in ralaxation that you will not forget. Osprey and Eagles fly by at eye level and dive down into the lake for a fish.

Guestbook comments from the owner

WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VIEW!!!

  • 4 of 5

Right from the star, this was a great experience. Martha was wonderful and informative and was very quick to respond.

We stayed for 2 nights in August. We brought friends from Chicago to stay there and none of us were disappointed.

The house has everything you could possibly need and was clean and comfortable. The spring fed hot tub was VERY hot so we really only dunked our feet but was still awesome.

The tub and the outside back deck need a little bit of updating with some paint but not so badly that it is not enjoyable still.

The price is reasonable.

The view is magnificent.

The hospitality was great.

We will absolutely stay again!

Thank you for being lovely Martha!!

Great spot for a good price

  • 3 of 5

This property is in a great location and features a large open, covered deck to enjoy the view of Arrow Lakes and the surrounding mountains. Another plus is it was 5 minutes from Halcyon Resort, a great hot springs and spa. Unfortunately it's the guests responsibility to ensure the kitchen equipment is cleaned and the guests before us put away dirty dishes into cupboards which meant we ended up doing lots of extra dishes. Also, we were not informed that you needed to take your own garbage with you at the end of your stay and we did not have the room or the knowledge of where to dump it. Other than those two things it is a comfortable, albeit quite dated and in need of a few repairs, property.

Had a great time again this year! We come to fish and it was good and productive. The B S sessions on the back deck were also good and productive. Martha did a great job keeping us happy.

home away from home

  • 4 of 5

We had an exceptional time. The home is spacious, clean, well maintained, and not difficult to find, although we are locals so we know the area. I found Martha to be very helpful and clear and easy to work with. I would definitely recommend this listing and will return again for another relaxing getaway.

Map

Car: recommended

The Nakusp and Revelstoke areas are most famous for snowmobiling as well as heli/cat skiing. The Halcyon area is located on the northern end of the Valley of The Hot Springs. For kids there is the Enchanted Forest with adorable elves, little houses and tree houses to explore. Sky Trek is another great activity for families. These two atractions are about 1.5 hours north. There are multiple outfitters in the area who offer summer activities as well that include heli hiking, alpine touring and white water rafting. Motorcycling in this area is very popular with the spectacular mountain views. Mountain biking as well as hiking into waterfalls or amongst the wild flowers is also a favorite pasttime of the locals. Mount Revelstoke Park offers a very inexpensive easy way to drive to the summit. If you enjoy fishing then Arrow Lake has world class lake trout primarily in the fall and winter. There are also beaches, parks and local events to enjoy. The Nakusp music festival is in July.
