The house is a contemporary self-catering holiday home providing an an opportunity to relax and unwind in a beautiful heart of the Cotswold Water Park.

A luxury break

  • 5 of 5

Cuckoos Nest is luxury living in an idyllic setting. The house boasts all those things you need to make your holiday as relaxing as possible. The kitchen inspires you to create and all mod cons are available to help you. There was enough room for three cooks at one time and not a bad word was said.

The living area was spacious enough for all 8 of us to be able to relax, and when you wanted some space there was always the balcony and the patios downstairs. The accommodation is so flexible that it is suitable for large families and groups of people young and old as we were.

We spent a lot of time in the ArtSpa which relaxed you as soon as you went in the door. Lying by the pool listening to the soothing music with a good book. What more does one need.

The Cotswolds are beautiful but the estate was so lovely that I spend most of my time around there. I would definitely consider going back again with even more good books, fine wine and a cookery book.

And relax...!

  • 5 of 5

This was our fourth time back to this fantastic property. From the moment we drive through the gates of the Lower Mill Estate we knew we were on holiday. The whole atmosphere around the estate is so relaxed and peaceful (even with our 3 kids!) The house is perfect for us with a master bedroom on the ground floor with the 2 other bedrooms for the kids. My sister in law and her husband then took the other master bedroom in the second floor. The first floor living space is very well laid out with a fully equipped kitchen, free view TV, toys/games etc to use during the stay. The owners always ensure the house is stocked with toilet paper, dishwasher tablets, washing liquid etc which is considerate. The view from the lounge is stunning.

The real treat is the Spa which was really quiet whilst we were there giving us the pool to ourselves! The sun even stayed out long enough for us to enjoy the outdoor heated pool but the Eco pool remained as freezing cold as always!

Another great break had by all. No doubt we will be back next year!

tranquil retreat

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect weekend retreat for our larger group. Rarely do u get such well sized rooms and living space in a property for 8 and everything was well appointed. We were especially impressed with how well the kitchen was kitted out. Gorgeous living space to relax in with the all important view of the lake...simply stunning. Pool and facilities for the kids topped off a great stay. We'll be back

Fantastic House

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic house! I have stayed in many homes both here and abroad but never one so well equipped. The owners have thought of everything. We even began to play a game of what was missing!!! The only thing I couldn't find was a needle!!!! Lower Mill Estate is such a tranquil destination . Even though the weather wasn't great we still had a fabulous time. This is my second time staying on the estate and I can't recommend it enough. If you are looking for a safe, clean and beautiful location this is where to head.

Fabulous Weekend Break

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely, relaxed, weekend break. All you could need for a home from home atmosphere with the added bonus of the ArtSpa on site. I have to say we did very little exploring. We drank tea, ate, swam and nattered our way through our 3 days. 1 guest had a spa treatment and praised the service. The swimming areas are lovely. The steamroom fabulous. Will be returning, same place, same time, next year all being well!

Although there is plenty to entertain you on your door step, should you venture outside, the charm of the Cotswolds awaits. Below are listed a number of the nearby attractions which will make for a wonderful day out:

* Cirencester is an historic Roman town in the heart of the Cotswolds with attractions from a Roman Amphitheatre to the nearby Chedworth Roman Villa. The Corinium Museum in an important source of information on the local history. Cirencester has many fine examples of historic mosaics, including one which can be found near the Brewery Arts Centre in the heart of Cirencester.

* Stow-on-the-Wold is a small market town of about 2000 people set in the Cotswold Hills. It stands beside the Roman Fosse Way at its junction with six other roads, where a settlement has existed since the Iron Age. Like many of the Cotswold towns and villages, the houses were built with the very distinctive mellow Cotswold stone from local quarries.

* Cotswold Wildlife Park: lions, white rhinos

Golf: The nearest golf course is at 'Cirencester Golf Club' on the Cheltenham Road which is just north of the town and approximately 8 miles from the Lower Mill Estate. Green fees are reasonable and visitors are welcome.
