Our mountain has all of the amenities of home without the stress! Built in 2005 on a quiet cul-de-sac approx 1 mile from Mtn Inn, the home offers a large kitchen with granite countertops, adjacent to a large living room with cathedral ceilings and a beautiful stone fireplace.
The eat in dining area seats 8 comfortably, but the large island in the kitchen is perfect for kids.
The top floor has the kitchen, dining living area with a 1/2 bath, a master suite (queen bed) with walk in closet and full bath. There is a large deck off the master suite and living area.
The middle level has another master suite with a queen bed, full bath and private deck. Also on the middle level are two additional bedrooms, one with a single over double bunk bed, the other bedroom has a double bed. There is a full bath between the two bedrooms. The hot tub is located on the middle level deck.
The bottom level has W/D and a play room with a television and an L shaped couch perfect for watching movies
Activities: Wintergreen is a 4 season resort. In addition to its beautiful setting, the resort offers fine and casual dining, golfing, hiking, skiing, tubing and numerous children's activities. The surrounding area offers wineries and breweries that are great for groups, couple's or a girl's weekend get-away.
The Treehouse located at the Mountain Inn has 1/2 and full day kids' programs that my kids love, and it gives a much needed break for the parents!
We are a family of 5 who currently live in Annapolis, MD. Sheri is originally from Richmond and remembers fond visits to the mountains as a child so purchased our mountain home in Wintergreen to share those same experiences with our children.
Sheri Reno purchased this house in 2010
This spacious home on three levels is beautifully furnished and has everything a family needs to enjoy a home away vacation. Fully stocked kitchen; plenty of firewood & starter logs; games & puzzles for all ages (including a giant size Jenga game which is loads of fun!); a hot tub to relax in after a day on the slopes and tons of DVD movies to choose from. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next year.
Nice property and well-stocked kitchen. We joined two other families for the trip. There were six kids total; three infants and three toddlers. Despite having a fairly large group this property fit our needs perfectly. We were disappointed we weren't able to ski because it was so warm, but between the walking paths, the hot tub on property, and the play area for the kids in the basement we found plenty to do.
We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Reno Run. The house is lovely and well equipped. We enjoyed spending time together in the living room and made use of the fireplace one evening - very nice that the owner provided firewood for us to use. The kitchen had all of the cooking and serving items that we needed, and a large dining table that accommodated our full house. The hot tub was nice to have. We didn't really use the basement living room, but it was a nice space with a large TV. We found that the hot water didn't hold up for many showers in a row, but that could be avoided by spacing out when we took showers. Overall a wonderful home and somewhere that I would book again! Thank you!
Spent two nights here with a group of 6 friends in total - three couples. Each couple had their own bedroom and full bathroom, with another half bath and a fourth room to spare. Tons of space, a well-stocked kitchen with every dish and utensil you could possibly need, comfy rooms, a fireplace stocked with wood, and a hot tub. What more could you want? The sound system is also quite nice - plug an iPod into the living room system and the sound is piped to the entire top floor, two of the bedrooms, and the hot tub deck. Each set of speakers has its own volume control in case you want some peace and quiet in your room.
Only two minor complaints: a few of the beds have older, slightly lumpy mattresses, and the firewood pile isn't terribly well sheltered from precipitation. The latter made it tough for us to get a fire going the second night after a rather large storm. But neither are deal-breakers in any way - the place is just too nice.
Sheri was also very easy to work with, and responded quickly and clearly to all questions. The experience could not have been easier.
This is our 2nd time renting this house. It is clean, reasonably-priced, well-stocked, comfortably decorated and peaceful. We especially appreciate the hot tub after skiing, the "whole house" music system and the fireplace complete with wood & starter logs. There is also a nice selection of movies & books. The level driveway made loading/unloading the cars very easy. The layout was perfect for our 2 families with 4 teenagers, who enjoyed playing a board game once they realized there were no electronic games in the house! Gotta love that! The skiing at this beautiful, well-organized resort was great. Its an easy drive to the slopes from this house, about 5 minutes. Restaurants (Cafeteria for lunch, Copper Mine for dinner) were average.
The only negatives I noted: some of the furniture is a bit worn, there are drafts coming through the front door & lower level door. Upper & middle level of the house were nice & warm, but lower level was cold (although my son slept down there, and was comfortable with a sleeping bag and the space heater).
We were sad to come back to the "real world", which is always a sign of a good vacation for me!
My family and I enjoyed our stay at this property! There was plenty of room for our family group of nine. The kitchen was well appointed. The big stack of firewood on the porch made it easy to get wood for the fireplace. We liked the hot tub. The owner was very helpful in providing all the information we needed.
