In all the home was just what we need for a weekend getaway.
Cons: We were highly disappointed in the fact that as advertised the pull out couch turned out to be a bust! The bed frame was mangled and unable to be used, leaving one of our guest and her baby to sleep on the matress on the cold floor. Attempts to reach property managers to address this failed - also, they claimed they didn't know the bed was broken - hmmm not sure how they wouldn't have know???. Also we found dirty dishes in the kitchen cabinets so just heads up...clean the dishes before you use them!!!
We had our family reunion at Tahoe Serenity (11 people) and it was a very pleasant experience. The first night we arrived the master bedroom had electrical issues and we were not able to get the lights in the bedroom to turn on. I was able to make a call to the main office - Renee & Melissa were so helpful in getting the issue resolved right away. Renee offered to drive from downtown to drop off an extension cord so we could temporarily make use of a lamp until they were able to get someone to fix the electrical issue. But, after messing with the breaker box my brother was able to get lights working. The second night we had issues with the bath tub drain but Julie sent someone out to quickly fix the problem as well. Overall, the commute from Tahoe Serenity to Northstar, CA and Lake Tahoe was only a mere 15 minutes. Safeway is less than 10 minutes. If you have an Apple Phone - the Apple map may not get you to Tahoe Serenity - you will be wandering around in the dark wondering where the house is (3 people in the car had Apple Phones and no one could find the house using their phone). If you have a Droid phone that uses Google maps, it will get you to Tahoe Serenity (2 of us had Galaxy Samsung 4s and it was able to locate the address).
The kitchen has everything you need to cook a gourmet meal (...according to my parents) and the long kitchen table has enough room to fit a large family of 11. The master closet is a huge walk-in closet and ended up being the 4th bedroom (my cousin had bronchitis and was coughing all night). We played Pictionary and watched movies every night we were there. Thank you for sharing your home and helping us build lifetime family memories at Tahoe Serenity. We hope to be back next year!!
