Our 3rd stay here

  • 5 of 5

4 years ago our group of friends decided to rent this house for a long weekend. We loved it so much that we have tried to come back every year (with the exception of one year when the house was completely booked already). Our reservation this month was our 3rd stay at this house. We always have a wonderful time. It is cozy and homey, and accommodates a large group. Every year we make plans to rent snowmobiles, ski, or snowboard. There are snowboarding trails right off the backyard and the house is very close to Saddleback Mtn. There have been some years though, when we haven't ventured out to do any of these activities, as everyone is too cozy inside near the fireplace, or outside in the hot tub. The home itself is very secluded, and there are often deer and wildlife wandering through the yard. Our first two years at this house we saw deer every day in the yard. This year we didn't see any, unfortunately. The owner thought this might be because not all the guests feed to deer so they do not know to make the house a regular stop. Our first time staying the owner let us know ahead of time that if we put deer food out they would come into the yard. He hasn't mentioned this the last couple times, so I'm hoping if he remembers to include this information in the future for all renters, then most people will put the food out so the deer will come regularly. There is a feed&seed store across from the IGA grocery store in town, and you can get a large bag of feed for under $15. It is so worth it! Our first year we were in the hot tub watching a large group of deer eat only yards from us!

I cannot say enough good things about this house, and we will be booking again next year!

Great place

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here in july 2016. Huge house. We were big group and house had enough place. House is away from other houses but still right in city. Only thing we had was lot of night bugs/insects on windows, but I guess that is common in area. Owner had arrangments for that too. We enjoyed our stay and would love to rent again, if we are in area.

Don't let ad fool you, there is no access to ATV trails. You have to trailer your machines!!

  • 1 of 5

No direct trail access for ATV's also no hot tub. Front porch collapsed last winter and has not been repaired. False advertising to say the least!! Rangley is beautiful, but this house is not where you want to stay!!!

Owner's Response: Don't be fooled by this negative review. Trust the other 14 five star reviews that we have for this house. Yes we did have damage sustained to the front porch and hot tub that is under repair. The ATV access has changed in the Rangeley area over the past few years so we do have to trailer 2 miles to get to the nearest Trail. Sorry I do not control the ATV trail system. In Rangeley. The tenant was told about both the hot tub and having no direct access to the ATV trail system before his arrival. Please read all of our five star reviews. Thank you

Great house

  • 5 of 5

There was plenty of room, it was laid out well, close to town, yet on a quiet road. It had all the amenities we needed.

We are a large group of women who have been renting houses for 15 years. I think this one is our favorite.
