House, 4 Bedrooms + Den, 3 Baths (Sleeps 12)

Beautiful property, 900 feet from the beach (just a block away). Our house is spacious, comfortable and feels more like a home than a beach rental. It is very family friendly, but is also great for a group getaway. It has been used it for college weekends, wedding groups, reunions, girls' getaways, etc..

The house is located on a quiet street with parking for four cars. The area is very safe and friendly, and has a great sense of community. The spacious, clean and inviting beach is less than a five minute walk from the house. The beach has a very long gradual slope to deeper water, which is ideal for little ones.

This house boasts an open floor plan upstairs. Downstairs, there are four bedrooms, three baths, a den with a sleeper sofa. Three of the bedrooms have queen sized beds, and the fourth room has two bunk beds, one with a single bed on top and a double bed on the bottom and another bunk bed with two single beds.

The kitchen is stocked with the basics - microwave, coffee pot, dishwasher, toaster, blender, waffle iron, etc. We have three levels of outdoor space for enjoying the ocean breezes, with a screened in porch as well as second and third level decks. You can eat in or outdoors at the dining tables on each level. You will love relaxing with a drink and listening to the ocean or just soaking in the beach life. You can cook out on the grill while ocean breezes keep you cool or rock in the rockers. Take a walk on the beach at sunrise or sunset and enjoy the natural beauty and friendly people.

This is a great house for a single family with kids or an extended family to enjoy all that the Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant and Charleston have to offer.

Things to Do: The whole island is bike friendly, and you can bike down to the pier, or the town center and park, which is less than a mile away. The town has nice high end restaurants, pizza parlors, casual restaurants, ice cream shops, a cantina, sports bar, and gift and specialty shops. There is also live music most nights in the summer at a rooftop bar and grill. There is a liquor store and a fish store less than a mile from the house, and places to rent surfboards or schedule water activities. There is a great recreation center with an outdoor playground, yoga classes, basketball, and lots of other activities.

If you want to leave the island, you can head down to Sullivan's Island and explore Fort Moultrie, or go kayaking and watch the dolphins. Make sure to get into Charleston to see the beautiful homes, and eat at the great restaurants. Go to Battery Park, Patriot's Point and Fort Sumpter, the museums, take a tour or just people watch. The Saturday morning Farmer's Market is always great, and there are wonderful fish markets all around.

Charleston is our dream location with lots of culture, history, food, and recreational activities. The town has something for everyone whether it is a sporting event, concert, art, or simply a relaxing walk on the beach. We want you to enjoy your stay as much as we do.

Why Misty Nichols chose Charleston Area

This property has fantastic reviews, and it is a great, well-kept vacation house. It is less than a five minute walk from the beach, near a playground and recreation center. It is close to the airport, Charleston, and Mount Pleasant. It is a beautiful, safe community, with lots of friendly people and many great activities. The beach is lovely, clean and wide. Everything is close by and you can bike everywhere. We have great restaurants in downtown IOP, an excellent fresh fish store, Ben and Jerry's, and other little shops.

What makes this house unique

Lots of outdoor space - three decks, pet friendly, homey and just the way a beach house should be. We have a fenced in back yard. We are proud of our home!!

We had a great stay. The weather was awesome, the house very comfortable, the beds just right and we loved all the outdoor decks and porches. This is our third visit, and there have been many improvement. We will definitely be coming back.

Awesome place !!

Perfect house for what we needed. Easily slept 12 people. Just a block and a half from the beach!! Owners were very nice and responsive - fixed an AC problem we had within 2 hours. Would definitely recommend to others and stay here again!

Family fun

What a great place to spend Thanksgiving with family. The house is ideally located a short block from the beach, allowing for long walks in either direction. The large dining table allowed us to gather everyone for our Thanksgiving dinner. With 4-bedrooms, we had ample space for all. We look forward to a return trip.

Great location

Our family of 7 (4 generations represented) stayed here in May of 2014. This year we were here during the month of August. We really enjoyed the close proximity of the beach as that is where we spent most of our time. However, when we entered the house on the first day there was a strong smell in the master bathroom. Also, the downstairs porch was in disarray as all the beach chairs and toys were in one huge pile. The dishwasher was full of dishes that hadn't been cleaned. We didn't want sand from the beach on the floors so we swept up each day and when we did the rugs had HUGE amounts of dirt and dog hair in them. The outside trash cans (all of them) were filled to the brim-had to wait until the garbage truck arrived until we could use them. The enclosed porch was very nice but one chair had a broken leg and it looked as if someone tried to fix it-it wasn't! Upstairs deck rocking chairs were nice but again one was broken and couldn't be used. My family loves the Isle of Palms and we have wonderful memories of this home but I really missed the way it was in 2014.

There hasn't been a change in cleaning company since your last visit so I am surprised to hear about your experience. I also am surprised to hear about the broken furniture as I would have worked to get that taken care of earlier. Vacation with baby and in-laws

The home is in a great location; you can easily walk to the beach, or explore the safe back roads. The marina is a nice distance away and makes for a perfect evening stroll. The house wasn't ideal for us, a family with a baby and two sets of parents (with bad knees/legs!). There was no powder room on the main floor, forcing everyone to go to their bedrooms (down steps), to use the bathroom. The master bath was nice, but the other bathrooms were quite small (and one was VERY dated). We didn't use the upper deck, or the screened in porch off the den, as they appeared old and uninviting. A lot of the furniture and amenities were uncomfortable, and could use updating and/or cleaned. The house didn't seem well cleaned when we arrived, as all of our feet were black after walking around without socks/shoes. While the house was overly full of books, games, etc., it lacked in useful features, such as a dresser in which to put clothes (master). Lastly, the kitchen was small - so if you plan on having more than two people in the kitchen at one time, this may not be the house for you.

Owner's Response: Marisa, We are sincerely upset that your stay was less than wonderful. I have addressed the cleaning issues with our cleaning company and will make make sure this doesn't happen to anyone in the future. We also plan to refund your cleaning fee as the house did not meet our standards for cleanliness. As for the house layout, I am sorry it didn't meet your expectations. The description does show that it is a reverse floor plan meaning the bedrooms and bathrooms are on the first floor and the kitchen, dining area and family area is on the second floor. We hate that you felt the first floor and upper decks were outdated as we had just replaced some of the furniture. I would be interested if you could send me a better description of what you felt was not what you expected so that we can address the concerns.

Map

13 miles to Charleston, 4 miles to Mt. Pleasant, good shops. Close to the Charleston airport, close to historic attractions in Charleston, museums, outstanding restaurants, great markets, and discount shopping, as well as high end specialty stores. We have two golf courses on the Island, a water park in Mt. Pleasant, and multiple cineplexes. You can rent bicycles near by, and the surfing is great in the spring and fall as well as winter - with a wetsuit. A new Harris Teeter just opening on the island for very convenient grocery shopping. We have a great recreation center with a playground and basketball courts. Lots of classes are available such as yoga.
