Great spot for a weekend getaway in Shenandoah
Really enjoyed our stay here last weekend. The house is charming and well-stocked, and it accommodated our group quite nicely. It is an updated but older farm house, so just include that in your expectations - not a bad thing in the slightest, but just good to bear in mind. The star of the property is the outdoor space. The fire pit, outdoor dining area with fireplace, and hot tub - all with beautiful views - are fantastic. We only stayed inside to prep meals and sleep.
It's in a great location - we biked to several wineries (Stone Mountain was probably the best, certainly in terms of the views, even if it was a slog to get up there), and there's a Food Lion just a few miles away (recommend that over the other options for the freshness of the produce and overall selection).
The only thing I'd warn people to be mindful of is that you are not completely isolated. There are a few other houses in close proximity, most of which posed no issue, but there is a house towards the main road with a pack of hunting dogs that bay frequently and kids who enjoy riding loud ATVs around the property (though this only happened during the day). So, if you're expecting total peace and quiet, this may not be the place for you.
All in all, we were very happy with the weekend and would recommend it for an outdoors-oriented group.
We rented this home on a very cold weekend for a quick getaway from the city and traffic. Unfortunately because of the cold weather we weren't able to enjoy the outdoor amenities available, however, we did stay warm and cozy in the home overlooking pastures filled with beautiful horses and mountains in the background. It was not completely secluded, but very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed watching the neighbor's puppies run around. The kitchen provided everything we needed to cook our meals, including spices! The upstairs cozy den provided games and comfortable seating with another great view of the mountains. I left with no stress! I would love to return when the weather warms up to be able to enjoy the fire pit and outdoor fireplace.
Beautiful property with friendly horses, amazing hot tub, grill and fire pit. The owners were very responsive to our needs.
Echo Valley was the Perfect Getaway!
Echo Valley was an absolutely lovely place to get away from the city for the weekend. My friends and I made good use of the hot tub with the mountain views, the hammock facing the pastures, and the comfortable kitchen and living room inside for cooking and playing games. Check in was super simple and easy and clear instructions were given for the day of arrival and departure. We would be happy to come back again.
The only minor inconvenience was some neighboring dogs (could not tell where exactly they were located) were barking and whining at all sorts of random times, though once inside the house you couldn't hear them.
Very nice and quiet farm home.
Very clean and very pleasant stay. Owners were very responsive and we appreciated it!
We had such a nice stay at Echo Valley Farms. It was so quiet out in the country! It was a nice change of pace from the hustle & bustle of the DC area. There were 5 horses very close to the property, which were awesome to watch. The hammock was great, as was the hot tub!!! The view of the mountains from the hot tub was so nice. There was also a large grill that worked great. Having two options of where to make a fire outside (small & large fire pit) was also great. The house was nice. Modern decor and appliances. Very relaxing sitting room on the top level with great views.
