INCREDIBLE PANORAMIC VIEWS OF COVE MOUNTAIN AND THE ENTIRE WEARS VALLEY! It is truly 'A Sight To See'! We offer a Lovely 4 Bedroom, 3 Bath cabin with well appointed floor plan and lots of style. The open living area has a towering cathedral ceiling, gleaming hardwoods, stone gas log fireplace and lots of glass to bring the outside indoors and allow you to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views. There is a KING LOFT MASTER SUITE with a view, and three additional queen private bedrooms, a spacious recreation-media room also has spectacular views, wrap around deck where you can enjoy the sounds of nature in the Smokies, and plenty of level easy access parking. A large hot tub is on the top deck. A lovely soaking bath is in the master bathroom & an 'extra queen' size Sleep Number bed is in the master bedroom. There are only 5 steps to the main floor & master suite, making access easy and convenient. Your comfort and enjoyment is our goal for your Smokey Mountain destination!
NOT PART OF A RESORT: 'A Sight To See' sits on over 1.5 acres of mountainside property with only one other cabin in proximity to us at approximately 40 yards to our west. No other cabins on Hatcher Mountain are visible from our deck in the summer and Fall. Note that the other cabin to our west is called Cherie's Chalet, sleeps 6, and can be rented through VRBO #428364 for larger parties wishing to stay close together.
We vacationed here several years ago and fell in love with the cabin, the beautiful views, diversity of outdoor activities, wonderful restaurants, entertaining shows, and multitude of shopping venues. We are a family who loves to spend time together. We are residents of Alabama but our family ancestry and heritage hails from Tennessee. We feel like we're at home when staying at our cabin.
Penny Erwin purchased this cabin in 2011
This house has one of the best views in Wears Valley sitting high atop Hatcher Mountain with 180 degrees unobstructed visibility. We also love the comfort & beauty of the house itself. Finally, the location of the home is ideal because of it's seclusion and proximity to Pigeon Forge, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and Gatlinburg. We never want to leave but we enjoy sharing our special mountain getaway with others. We want our guests to have the same experience as we do when we stay in the Smokey Mountains!
Our location high atop Hatcher Mountain makes this cabin unique because of the beautiful unobstructed views of Cove Mountain and Wears Valley. The comfortable rocking chairs on our large wrap-around deck allow you to sit back and relax with family and friends in complete privacy. The air is so clean and refreshing! We love grilling out on the deck, relaxing in the hot tub, or listening to music while watching the sun set over the mountain skyline. The early morning yields spectacular views above the mist covered valley floor. It's truly a magical experience!
It was a great stay. Thanks for the great cabin with great views. we all loved it and had memorable time.
I also thank you for all the support provided during late hours. The care you took to make our trip comfortable is really commendable.
Beautiful setting, awesome view, great set up and very clean! Perfect family get away spot!
Other than home itself, there is no better place to spend the days leading up to Christmas than in a cabin in the mountains around Pigeon Forge. This cabin felt like a home away from home for sure as it fit our family of five (me, my wife, and my three children who are 21, 18 and 14 with the youngest being the girl). The downstairs with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a large TV, pool table and separate small fridge was perfect for the dudes who wanted to stay up late and play video games or pool. It's separated so that we could have some peace and quiet in the main floor bedroom to go to bed a little earlier thant the rest. The den area, dining room area and kitchen being open was the ideal place for us to spend some time together eating and playing games. My daughter enjoyed the loft bedroom and it was a great fit with the reading area; she is a reading fanatic. I am usually up a few hours before everyone else, so having the sliding door that seperates the main floor bedroom and bath from the living area, was perfect and allowed me to do my morning routine of personal devotion, breakfast and news, while planning the days events, while everyone else slept. The views from the decks were majestic. It was great to have a nice grill at a rental for a change; it was the same Weber model I have at home. The kitchen, appliances, cookware, dishes, glasses, silver-ware, etc. was as functional and well-equipped as any we've ever stayed in! The owner was in touch and very accessible which makes you feel very comfortable. She seems to be a wonderful lady! The only thing that kept this cabin from being 5 stars for us, was that there was not enough hot water for all of us to take showers. We're used to an 80 gallon water heater at our home and even having two at a time taking showers. The owner was willing to call someone to check it out, but I'm not sure that anything was really wrong. We may simply desire more hot showers than the average bears. The only other negative was the 10:00 am checkout. Again, probably not an issue for most, but we'd like to have until noon to leave a little more casually and have one more breakfast before hitting the road. In case you haven't noticed, functionality is king for us. If 4.5 stars was an option, we'd probably give it that rating; it wasn't perfect for us, but it was very close.
Thank you for the beautiful cabin and wonderful view. Booking was pleasant and easy-Penny was great! The cabin is far enough from town to really enjoy the rural aspect yet close enough to be in town in minutes. I never saw a neighbor and hardly saw a car. It was no problem for us, but if you don't like stairs, pick another cabin. The cabin was well furnished and everything was so convenient. Thank you again.
Penny, Our stay this year was just as wonderful as we had last year, your home is lovely and I hope we left it as we found it.
The leaves weren't as gorgeous as other Octobers but still they were still very beautiful. Thank You for letting us share your
home. The Harris' and Hamilton's
Love love love!!
Beautiful view ! Clean, nice well stocked with everything you need .. and love Penny the owner , so nice & helpful . It is "a sight to see"! We loved it! ❤️
This cabin, "A Sight to See" was pretty amazing. Not only were the views breathtaking, but everything we needed was provided. We cooked a couple times while we were there, and there were plenty of pots, pans, dishes, etc. to use. There were even spices in the cabinets (the salt and pepper definitely came in handy). Penny was very helpful and responded immediately during the booking process, as well as after the fact, and she even called the morning we left to see if we enjoyed our stay. We had plenty of room for our party of 6, with plenty of seating for everyone. The cabin was very clean and nicely kept up. The key pad on the back door seemed to stick a little, but that's not a complaint. We didn't use the hot tub but did lift the cover to check it out. I don't know anything about hot tubs, but it smelled a little musty on lifting the cover but, as I said, we didn't use it. The gas grill was great and looked new - we did grill steaks while we were there, and it worked out great. Overall, this is a great cabin for anyone looking for a getaway. Thanks for a great stay!
