Hinoki House, featured in Custom Wood Homes, is an architectural gem nestled on 18 acres in a gated community overlooking our 50 foot cascading waterfalls, granite pool and trout stream.
We are 10 minutes from Lake Glenville, 20 minutes from Cashiers, and Highlands (through the back gate) and 20 minutes from Western Carolina University.
Clad in glass and wood, this luxury home is based on a Japanese country home. The house is surrounded by charming gardens with outdoor recreation and eating areas. With its refined spaces and comfortable seclusion, Hinoki House is great for a family reunion, business retreat, or honeymoon...all of the above.
There are five bedrooms, two master bedrooms with private baths on the main floor and an additional three large bedrooms and two baths on the other floor.
The main floor of the Hinoki House has an open kitchen as a part of a large dining and living area which opens to the outdoors on all sides with beautiful vistas. The kitchen, with soapstone and granite counter tops, is well-equipped and well stocked. The main floor has vaulted 40 foot ceilings. There is a 4k flat screen tv with surround sound, and music system. Also on the main floor are two large master bedrooms each with vaulted ceilings, king sized beds and private baths. There is also a half bath for guests on the main floor.
The lower level has 14 foot ceilings and opens up to the outdoors from every room There is a full kitchen, and open living area with flat screen tv, xbox and ping pong table. There are three large and comfortable bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and private bath, and two with queen sized beds, and 14 foot ceilings which share a bath. One bedroom also contains an additional bunk bed with role away. The lower floor affords a place for activities equal to the upper floor.
There are also two hot and cold water outdoor garden showers.
In addition to the expansive decks and well planned gardens, outdoor entertainment and enjoyment includes a covered outdoor dinning gazebo, picnic table, gas grill and large fire pit with seating and walking trails on the property.
Below the house, are our 50 foot cascading waterfalls, granite pool and trout stream. You can also hike up the stream to High Falls and a beach area at Lake Glenville. Or, you can follow the Cashiers/Highlands guidebook to many more local mountain top vistas and waterfall hikes.
Fly fishing guides and trips can be found at the fly shop in Cashiers. Also, kayaking, rafting, mountain biking and horseback riding and other outdoor activities are close by.
Boating and water skiing are available nearby on Lake Glenville (the highest in elevation fresh water reservoir east of the Mississippi).
Fine and casual dinning are plentiful in Cashiers and Highlands. There is a popular famers market at the center of Cashiers selling fresh fruits, vegetables and baked goods among other things.
You can enjoy golf at the many highly regarded golf courses in the Cashiers/Highlands area.
Western Carolina University is 20 minutes away and provides many educational, cultural and sporting opportunities.
Finally, in addition to Cashiers and Highlands, guests can enjoy a visit to Asheville and the Biltmore Estate for the arts scene, restaurants and history.
