Love my visit to this cabin. Angie is so sweet and helpful. Definitely I recommend this cabin to everyone. It is really 5 stars cabin. You will find everything you will need and feel so cozy. The view is awesome even better the pictures. My kids enjoyed the trip and the cabin. I will love to visit again
This property is unlike anything we've ever come across. It is such a find and we were so fortunate to have experienced it. Our two daughters, their husbands and one 15 month old grand daughter stayed here mid August. We are from Michigan and plan a family vacation each year to be together. The girls, my husband and I drove it and our son-in-laws flew into Asheville as they didn't have as much vacation time as our teacher daughters. We arrived in the early afternoon after getting groceries in Waynesville (shout out to Montgomery Street market with exceptional meat and service!) Angie allowed us to check in early and was there with fresh flowers to great us. She made sure to have a pack and play for the baby. The cabin and view took our breath away! The porch is so incredible I had to wake up early every morning to just experience the view as the sun came up and we lingered after dinner out there each evening - laughing and enjoying dinner and watching the sun go down behind the mountains. The property was perfect for adult kids as well because each one had a queen bed and there were 3 full baths. We had so many plans but weren't sure if our little grand daughter would need afternoon naps so the property choice allowed for most to hike right there on the well marked and maintained trails (thank you Arturo and Georgina) She of course rose to the occasion and we had a few day trips to Maggie Valley (including an amazing meal at Frankies Italian off of Soco road) , Asheville (Biltmore), Brevard (twin falls hike and sliding rock). We had many more trips planned but our views to the summit of several hikes were on par with our amazing cabin view and the place was so great that we just opted two days to cancel plans and hike around there. Definitely a 5 star place and definitely the nicest place we've ever stayed...we've been to some really nice places. A final nice touch was that Angie allowed us to leave our leftover food there in the frig and promised she would take it to a pantry as well as we didn't have to strip all the beds, etc. It was nice to get driving early morning without those extra responsibilities. We got back today and there was already an e-mail that our deposit had been returned. Thank you and we hope to be back.
Milky way was an exciting and comfortable home for 5 days to six of us ranging from 6 years old to 73 years old. Plenty of activities within a few minutes. Everyone loved it and can't wait to go back.
We just spent 5 nights at Milima Ranch in the Milkyway Cabin. Everything about it surpassed our expectations. From the moment of arrival, when we were welcomed by Angie's husband and given a tour of the property (along with a healthy dose of North Carolina warm hospitality), we were enchanted by the breathtaking views and the quality of the house itself. The "cabin" is really more like a luxurious dream home than a typical mountain cabin. Beautiful finish-out, a top-notch, fully stocked kitchen, more than enough space for 5 of us and my 4-month-old grandson, and our favorite spot...the screened in porch with the incredible views of the Smokies surrounding the valley below. We ate almost every meal on the porch & so enjoyed the peacefulness of hanging out there, reading a book, listening to my son & son-in-law play the guitar & mandolin, watching the hummingbirds & the yellow finches constantly nibbling at the bird feeders, waiting for the fireflies to come out at dusk.
The beds were very comfortable. Slept with the windows open. Loved the way each bedroom had its own porch/patio. No shortage of great places to relax!
We took a day trip into Asheville, another trip to Hot Springs (wish we would have just stayed at the Milkyway that day!), and several hikes up & down the mountain on the trails that were well-marked & beautifully maintained. The best memory of all was our last night there. Fire in the outdoor firepit, all of us sitting on the soft grass talking & singing & laughing together, mesmerized by the view and so happy to be taking the time to do things we never seem to make time for at home.
Thanks, Angie & Troy for making us feel so welcome there. Truly cannot wait to return!
Perfect rural surroundings with beautifully manicured trails, breathtaking views, which switch from verdant, rolling hills to pinky-purple sunsets and morning streaks of misty light. We cannot wait to return to this serene, private piece of paradise..........
As we drove up the gravel road to Milima Ranch, there was a bit of concern. We weren't sure where we were going. But once we arrived to the cabin, all of our concern disappeared. Angie did a fabulous job of showing us around the cabin and introducing us the surrounding property. We had a few rainstorms while there, but the view still remained magical. Loved seeing the rain come across the valley. There were times that we were literally in the clouds. The Milky Way cabin is gorgeous. Well appointed with updated furnishings and appliances. My husband and I worked while there, but we so enjoyed seeing the visiting birds, and the resident horses and cows throughout the day. We also hiked on the property trails. Loved the quiet and serenity of it all. It was the most restful sleep I've had in months. Wish we could have stayed longer, and we look forward to visiting again one day.
