On quiet child friendly site in rural location, with pool and near to sea.
We are a family from Cardiff who like to spend time away from the city in the peace and quiet of west Wales, where the pace of life is very relaxing.
Sue purchased this Chalet in 2003
Why Sue chose Carmarthen
We spent a couple of years holidaying in west Wales and fell in love with the area. When we were fortunate enough to take up the opportunity to buy a chalet, we were delighted with our decision. We've had years of happy experiences and memories exploring the beautiful coastline and local attractions. Why the name Milkwood for the chalet? This is the wonderful landscape that inspired Dylan Thomas, the writer of Under Milkwood, who lived close by in Laugharne.
What makes this Chalet unique
We loved the fact the chalet site is on a river estuary, close to the seaside village of Llansteffan, which boasts a medieval castle and the tranquil Scott's Bay. We can jump in the car and in a couple of minutes, we're in Llansteffan for a country walk, play on the beach or sitting eating ice cream, taking in the sea view. Fantastic.

Very clean, lovely location
Spotlessly clean chalet, perfect location for some lovely day trips. We visited Colby gardens national trust and national botanic gardens which were both fantastic for adults and children. We also had a great day on Llansteffan beach and a visit to Carmarthen town for shopping and tea, both of which are within 10-15 minutes drive. Great for families, our 5 year old and 1 year old really enjoyed their stay. Great communication from Sue as well - thank you for a great bank holiday weekend
Lovely chalet in a great location
We had a lovely 4 night stay in this chalet. Sue was very welcoming in her emails and had kindly provided us with a cot and high chair for the baby. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The chalet is in a great location close to lots of places. The only thing was that the swimming pool wasn't open when we were there but Sue pointed us in the direction of a local pool that was great.
Great chalet, perfectly situated for an event at the adjacent Mansion House
Clean and tidy, the chalet was ideal for a short break in this most stunning part of Wales. Sue, the owner, was a pleasure to deal with. Thanks.
Well equipped, well located.
The chalet had everything we needed for our family (2 boys aged 4 and 1). Great location within easy driving distance of lovely beaches, Folly Farm and lots of other attractions.
Home from home in the heart of the Welsh countryside
The chalet is situated in a quiet but friendly community, there is a pool and a small play park on-site and good restaurants and pubs in the nearby village. The chalet itself was comfortable and clean with every amenity provided. Additionally, we really appreciated Sue's personal touches like the welcome folder which gave us a lot of excellent local advice and helped us plan our day trips. Would definitely stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay
Stayed for 3 nights for a wedding in a nearby hotel and absolutely enjoyed the chalet. We were 4 adults and 2 little children. The chalet was really clean and well equipped. Fixtures and fittings all very comfortable and in great condition. We were a 5 minute walk from the hotel and location wise it was brilliant. All the family enjoyed the chalet and would recommend it. The lady we corresponded with was really nice and helpful. In summary,a great choice of accommodation and an even better weekend at the wedding.
This is an ideal location to visit the many wonderful attractions in west Wales, which include the Victorian seaside town of Tenby, St Davids and Ramsey Island, the market town of Carmarthen and the National Botanic Garden of Wales.
Dylan Thomas' boat house at Laugharne is another popular local attraction about 35 minutes away.
There are several great children's theme parks including the ever popular Folly Farm, Heatherton adventure park and Oakwood.
Also, there are other coastal attractions including Penclacwydd bird sanctuary near Llanelli and Pembrey Country Park..
