Nevertheless, depending on specific circumstances (e.g., disabled, seniors, a family with seniors, availability, etc.), I sometimes rent to a family for 30 days, but at a substantially reduced rate. This 2 bedroom 2 bath unit is on the beach/front in south Hermosa Beach, one of the Travel Channel “Top 10 Beaches” in the U.S. It boasts a panoramic view of the water, white sand, and the coastal beauty of the entire South Bay from Palos Verdes to Malibu, and Catalina Island. This home is about 1200 sq. ft. and on the ground level unit of a two unit building. It is BEACHFRONT, ON “The Strand”, the renowned beachfront “boardwalk”, where you can watch beach goers and strollers, ride bicycles, roller blade/skate, play beach volleyball, or just relax. The large living room (with fireplace), dining room , and kitchen all overlook the ocean, with front door access to a stone patio/The Strand. This unit is fully furnished and includes all that you would have in your own home, including linens and towels, kitchen items and small appliances, and more. Great/Convenient Location: Just steps to the local bus systems that provide connecting service to the Los Angeles area Rapid Transit District system (RTD) with transportation to downtown Los Angeles and the many Los Angeles area attractions, entertainment, and cultural centers. Excellent, fully furnished unit right on the strand. Includes all appliances, utensils, wireless, cable TV, etc. Owners Jack and Piassa live upstairs and are very friendly and respond immediately to any problems.
They provide placards for free parking, although you don't really don't need ac car, except for local touring, since restaurants and grocery stores are in easy walking distance.
This family was with us for almost 1 ½ months. It was a pleasure having them stay with us, we became good friends, and they have already requested another month for this coming year. Since they live locally, we also look forward to them dropping by to visit whenever they can.
The best accommodations and location, especially for the price.
A totally different experience being on The Strand - the only place to stay.
A wonderful month long vacation
It was truly a unique and wonderful experience living on The Strand - constant entertainment every day either on the beach, or just sitting in the front yard watching the those passing by walking, roller skating, or bicycling. The apartment is wonderful and fully updated, especially the kitchen with new cabinets and granite counters., and equipped with phone service, internet, TV, and our own laundry. It didn't take long to feel right at home, as the owners gave us a complete tour of the unit, and even a tour of the surrounding area. All beach items are provided, including chairs, umbrellas, mats, towels, boogie boards, and even toys for the kids. - even an outside hot/cold water shower to clean up after the beach. All is within talking distance with a shopping cart with wheels provided for nearby super market, or outdoors farmers markets (2 days/week). Countless great restaurants and entertainment nearby within walking distance (north) at downtown Pier Plaza, including the world famous Comedy and Magic Club, and (south) water front King Harbor Marina and Redondo Beach Pier (with harbor tours and ocean sports lessons available.
A+ Location - Sweet Homeowners - Spectacular Ocean Views
We stayed in this beautiful and clean 2 bedroom unit right on The Strand for a couple months. The owner was very welcoming and made it easy for us. There's parking (with the pass), many local eateries close by, a jacuzzi, sand toys for kids, the beach, and so much more! The view from the living room of the ocean is phenomenal. You can't get any better than this!
The unit has everything you could possibly need for cooking, watching TV, Internet, bunk beds, 2 showers, plenty of towels, toilet paper, closet space, and probably more than I'm even listing.
The best part is the patio, BBQ and people watching available on the ocean side. That's an experience in and of itself.
You must stay here! The owners will take great care of you and always make sure you're in good hands.
Clean, comfortable, on the Strand, a short walk to center of Hermosa.
Owner goes out of his way to make sure that you are going to enjoy your stay. Unit is clean, well maintained and stocked with everything that you need but a toothbrush. Beds are comfortable. View and location are tops. You will feel at home, if home had acres of beach in front and a view from Malibu to PalosVerdes.Short walk to restaurants, comedy club and the Pier. Rent a bike at the Pier for 2 hours and ride all the way to ElSegundo and back on the Strand.
Beach Front Location But............
This is a two bedroom, first floor unit in a two-story house right on The Strand in Hermosa Beach. The plus is that you literally walk out your front door to the beach. Large windows adorn the unit; you have a clear view of sunsets and the beach from the interior of this unit. The downside is that folks see you too. This may bother some people. There are, of course, dated vertical blinds to close out your view and folks from looking in.
The kitchen has all the appliances that you'll need; actually is cluttered. And I guess since you're at the beach there are no real "glasses" just plastic, plastic, plastic. So one does not get the ambiance of a fine glass of wine while viewing the sunset with a plastic glass. The owner plans on updating the kitchen, which is currently the 1970s tile motiff. The age of the kitchen wasn't really bothersome to me, but other things were. I have stayed at numerous VRBOS in the LA area. The best ones decide to treat each customer as a "new guest". By that I mean, there are plenty of decent hangers (NOT dry cleaner ones and those you bring home from buying a garment at a store) among other things. Good VRBO owners realize that replenishment of hangers, towels, whatever....is the cost of doing business and will have the correct items on hand for their guests. This is not the case here. The owner takes his past experience forward i.e. the hangers are stolen, therefore he supplies only crappy ones. Also, I think owners should live in their rentals for a few days. Where can I put my bathroom products? Where can I hang up a jacket without trapsing to the bedroom and where can 2 people hang a towel in one bathroom. These are issues for this unit. This is why hotels will stay in business. Finally, the most disappointing part is that the jacuzzi was not operating. I have a feeling (can not be proven), that it is rarely operational. True the contract explicitly states that the jacuzzi is a BONUS, therefore, I warn all future renters that just don't plan on the jacuzzi operating. Lastly, not a huge deal but one to consider is that parking is two blocks away and in the usual way of LA streets, the streets are cleaned once a week from 8-10am so you'll have to move your vehicle. The owner does have garage space, but again from past experience, is not into allowing VRBO tenants to use it unless absolutely necessary. The owner is nice and informative but lacks the big hospitality picture
Unfortunately, this is just an unhappy woman angry at not receiving a free ride. While it is true that the outdoor Jacuzzi was not operational a few days of her stay (pump failed, but replaced), she was upset that I did not give her more than a $100 per day rent reduction. As is clear from numerous prior reviews, the remainder of her review is obviously nonsense - fabricated, contradictory, and untrue.
