East Cottage is beautiful and in a lovely setting. It is very clean, well maintained and well appointed. It is in a quiet setting but close enough to the A66 for sight seeing purposes. There is plenty to see and do in the area and we would recommend this property.
Thwaite Cottages are set amongst some of the most scenic countryside in the North East of England. Come and enjoy the natural beauty and tranquillity the area has to offer. Nearby Barnard Castle is a thriving historic market town with an array of fascinating antique shops. Local attractions include Raby Castle, offering medieval majesty and Victorian splendour with a 200 acre deer park surrounding the Castle and 18th century stables housing a coach and carriage museum. The Bowes Museum near Barnard Castle is a magnificent French style chateau housing one of the most superb decorative and fine art collections in Britain. Other attractions include Auckland Castle, Durham Castle, Bolton Castle, Green Howard’s Regimental Museum, Beamish Museum, Low Barns Nature Reserve, Darlington Railway Centre and Museum, Dales Countryside Museum and National Park Centre and Eggleston Hall walled gardens.
