Located in a beautifully updated Victorian home, this rental property is situated along historic oak-lined Carrollton Avenue. This 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment is one of six flats in a lovely historic home that has been faithfully restored to its original grandeur with a mix of the historic and the modern accents. You’ll love the wonderful views from your private balcony overlooking Palmer Park, a cozy living room with an inviting day bed, a flat-screen Cable TV, and WiFi. The master bedroom has a Queen-sized bed and a full closet while the second bedroom features a Full-sized bed and a stunning bay window. The heart of the home is a sleek kitchen with a large dining and lounging area. There is plenty of room here for family and friends to gather and pass an evening, host a dinner party, or settle in for a quiet dinner.

Prior to becoming a section of New Orleans, this area was a summer resort community where the well-to-do vacationed and enjoyed the shady woodlands, meadows and breezes from the nearby Mississippi river. Palmer Park hosts many community and cultural events. The last Saturday of every month the park comes to life during the Arts Market with tents of arts and crafts vendors, refreshments and live music. The St. Charles Streetcar - the oldest streetcar line in the world - runs directly past your accommodations, rolling on to destinations such as The French Quarter, Canal Street, The Garden District and Lafayette Cemetery. Beautiful apartment & location, but NEEDS BETTER CLEANING CREW! NASTY!

We stayed from the dates of June 24-27 and were really excited about the apartment! The pictures and reviews online were great! We booked it several weeks in advance and thought it would be the perfect place for us! We arrived and the exterior was lovely, but the interior.. not so much! From stains on the walls in the bedrooms, to a nasty toilet and tub, and bugs in the bed! I had to go to the store and purchase toilet cleaner, tub cleaner, sheets, blankets, and pillows. The sheets did not look so clean, so I decided to look underneath and there were 3 dead bugs.. not sure what kind they were, but they definitely made me uncomfortable! I usually clean the shower anywhere I stay, but the toilet & bed & linens should be cleaned! The towels had stains in the bathroom, it was just very unclean! and it could not be this dirty from a week or so.. it showed nastiness like it had never been truly cleaned, the furniture also had stains! And the outlet in the bathroom does not work! You will have to do your hair elsewhere if you stay here.. On the plus side, we liked the keyless code entry, that the a/c kept the apartment cool in the front of the apartment (the back room stays hot), the owner did leave a basket with goodies in the kitchen, the kitchen was clean, and it is on the streetcar line (but, the very end of the streetcar line.. so it is a ways to downtown - which we liked, because of the scenery.. but it was HOT! and crowded.) We can not wait to come back to NOLA, but sadly we will not be staying here or at his 3BR rental. We were super excited about planning another trip in November and had planned to stay in the 3BR, but after this.. no way! I will find somewhere else, whether it is the Westin or another rental recommended by a friend! If you do not mind nasty bathrooms or bedbugs, this is the place to stay!

Pretty House, But needs a BETTER cleaning crew!

This apartment is so pretty, if you can look under the uncleanliness. My family and I were really excited about our visit after reading the good reviews. We were excited for nothing! The tub and toilet were gross! I didn't even want to use the bathroom in the apartment. And after seeing that I decided to look under the comforters.. well I found bugs, they were dead but they were of good size. I'm not sure if the bed had bed bugs or what, but it grossed me out enough to go to the store and buy gloves, sheets and blanket.. I had to clean while on vacation! and pray that I didn't bring home bed bugs! I slept on the bed and it was not comfortable either.. it caved in. My parents said the queen size was not so bad, but it was very hot in the room. The walls, throw pillows, and furniture were all filthy with stains. It's ashame. I was planning on writing a recommendation on my blog and recommending friends, but I do not have much good to say. The kitchen was well stocked, but I did not use anything. The a/c worked good in the front of the house, which was nice to come in to from the NOLA heat.. My parents were hot staying in the back bedroom. The bathroom plugin did not work. Had to do our hair in the bedroom with no mirror. I liked that the doorknob was electronic and that we did not have to keep up with the key. The apartment is at the end of the streetcar line.. which takes forever to get to the city, but it was better than driving in the traffic. The other people that were staying in the other apartment were really friendly, but they said that they rented from Steve too and that they cleaned too. Hmm?? I was wanted to come back and stay again, but I will just stay elsewhere. My family was fine with the stairs, but I would not recommend this apartment for elderly people.

Cozy Carrollton (NOLA) Crib

We've been to New Orleans several times, so we were wanting a slightly different experience. We decided to stay in the Uptown-Carrollton area of New Orleans to experience that area of town. The apartment did not disappoint. It had plenty of character and the kitchen was roomy and well-appointed. The living area is small, but with two bedrooms and the large kitchen, my family had plenty of space. Plus, we don't come to New Orleans to hang around the room! The streetcar line stops just out front and there is a nice park across the street. Steven, the owner, replies promptly to text, if you have questions. We would definitely stay here again!

Palmer park condo

We had a very nice stay. The apartment had all the amenities we needed. Being next to the street car line was perfect. The outlet in the bathroom needs repaired. Has a very bad connection and I had to do my hair in the bed room . It was still over all a good experience.

Super easy for traveling within the city

Easy to locate, parking in the back, location is great. It is in quiet neighborhood, the streetcar runs right in front. Lots of little restaurants down the road. About 30-40 minute ride to Canal street. Street car runs until 4 in the morning so its great for getting home after a night on the town. The couch is very comfy for sleeping. Bedding needs updated. The kitchen is roomy as is the whole apartment. Great for a family or multiple couples to stay in. It is up steep stairs so would not be compatible for handicap. Washer and dryer located downstairs. Walgreens within a block for any missing necessities.

Nice location, responsive property manager
