Known as “Skytop” to locals, our home is a prominent landmark overlooking downtown Winter Park. The 280 degree views of the Continental Divide and the entire Fraser Valley are breathtaking. Bringing a bit of Aspen to Winter Park, the home was built by a well know Colorado builder with great attention to detail and quality. It is professionally decorated with the finest of furniture, art and accessories.
Built for family use this home accommodates several generations with complete comfort and privacy. It also functions beautifully as a corporate retreat. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful house. We loved the roulette and the Wii(kids). We loved the big sledding hill & we also built a snowman. We were here for Mary Janes's birthday and had a fantastic view of the fireworks!
We had a group of 14 people and it was a perfect location, we were 2 min from town, and 5 min to the ski slopes. Very clean and had all the accommodations needed for a comfortable stay. We plan to return yearly. Oh and the hot tub overlooking winter park at night is a very beautiful site! I would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a luxurious get away in winter park co.
It's a great house for a family or large group vacation! The common areas are spacious yet cozy allowing large numbers to gather and socialize. There is also plenty of privacy on the upper and lower levels if needed. The whole house is clean and well equipped.
After meals the adults mostly congregated on the upper common area while the kids played games, watched movies etc in the lower den. The hot tub was a hit after a long day on the slopes!
The bedrooms were a good size with super comfortable beds. We had a large party and everyone had plenty of space.
The only downside is the WP shuttle is down the hill a ways from the house. We did not have a vehicle the first day , so it was a pretty good walk back up the hill. After our vehicle arrived it was not a big deal we just shuttled down and back up.
Overall a great place to stay! We had a great time with family and friends.
The house is beautiful and very large. There is so much to do in and around the house that we really didn't feel the need to leave most of the time. There are a lot of games, books, and movies to keep one or many occupied. Most of the Queen/King beds have dents on the sides and a lump in the middle, but they're only a little uncomfortable. There are no bedrooms on the main floor. Most of them are downstairs. This is not a problem if everyone is mobile. Ms. Linda was super nice and available on a minutes' notice when we had questions. There are SO many dishes & kitchen gadgets! I wish I'd known there was a Keurig; I'd have taken hot chocolate. Our experience would have been incomparable, if not for the altitude sickness. Do your research! Everyone in our group had a negative reaction, but I ended up in the hospital because my body couldn't handle the elevation. Talk to your doctor before you leave home and be sure you know what to expect. It caught me by surprise and I had to be life-flighted off to Denver on the third morning. My family ended up having to leave early. This is no reflection on the property. I just wanted to mention it so others can prepare better. If not for my severe reaction to the altitude/elevation, I'd be trying to book the property for next year already.
We had a family vacation with three generations from age 3-1/2 to 72 and all had a wonderful time at Skytop! The house is beautiful, very well decorated, very comfortable and very clean. The views all around are spectacular! Having most of the bedrooms ensuite is a real plus.
The kitchen is very well equipped and having two very nice grills on the deck made meal prep very easy. The hot tub and the fire pit made for very enjoyable evenings watching the stars over the mountains. The house is equipped with everything including a full closet with toys & games for all ages. It is a great location -- 5 minutes from town and 5 minutes from Winter Park Ski Reaort. Rocky Mountain National Park is a little more than 45 minutes away.
Linda Stone is wonderful to work with, very helpful and very responsive. A wonderful vacation in a beautiful place!
I am writing this review sitting in the wonderfully equipped kitchen surrounded by family after a wonderfully scrumptious dinner fixed on one of the two state of the art grills. I have been using VRBO for a very long time and have been satisfied always, However, all 14 of us agree this is the very BEST house yet. It is roomy with a place to all get together or for the kids and adults to separate for their own time. The hot tube is perfect, and the views from it and the multi-tiered decks made watching fireworks on the 4th one of the most memorable we have had, and we have had a few. The pictures of the house do not do it justice. The views are majestic and allow you to just sit and chill after a day of fun. I wish I would have thought to video everyone's first impressions of the house. As the one who puts it together, I am always a little nervous on my first entrance, but this house, amazing, felt like home, welcoming and decorated with impeccable taste! I have never felt compelled to write a review before we left, but every thing about this home is beyond expectations! Thanks so much Linda and Woody!
If you are staying in the winter park area look nowhere else other than this home. Beautiful inside and out. The view is better than expected, absolutely breathtaking! We usually stay ski in ski out but due to the size of the group we were going with we needed a larger home. Staying here was the best move we could have made. Was a little worried about the drive to the slopes since we all have kids. No need to be worried, takes about 5 minutes and you are ready to ski. Hopefully we can stay here again next year!
