This authentic 1 bedroom hand hewn log cabin will make the perfect honeymoon experience for the couple that wants to retreat to the mountains for an intimate getaway.
The most striking feature is the rustic frontier atmosphere this home creates. The living room has a plasma 32' TV/DVD/VCR and comfortable furniture as well as a fireplace constructed out of mountain stone from the park. This home is uniquely designed so that the wood burning fireplace is built into the wall separating the living room from the bedroom. The result is that the fireplace opens onto both areas providing an intimate atmosphere in either space.
The bedroom has a king size bed with a delicate iron wrought bed frame and a second plasma 32' TV. It opens into the Jacuzzi room which is windowed on all sides, overlooking the wooded seclusion of the surroundings. The front porch has a 2 person swing and rocking chair great for taking in your wooded seclusion. Just Added a new HOT TUB!!!
The kitchen is fully furnished with all the amenities you might need; you'll never have to leave if you don't want to! Additionally, the home has a separate full bath and washer and dryer.
Located on a secluded drive with only one other home, this cabin is a perfect place to come if you want to escape the world.
There is a 3 night minimum on all bookings unless there are only 2 nights open on the calendar. this is the only way to keep our rates low as the 3rd night basically covers all the fees. we also try to only book full weeks during holiday weeks and if it is more then 2-3 months away. But we also try to accommodate all our Guest who want to stay with us!!
I try to give honest feedback and feel bad if I have to leave any negative comments, but I want to bring attention to things that the owner may not realize could be an issue for some renters. First of all, the road getting to the cabin is kind of scary. It is narrow, with a drop off on one side and when you reach the driveway, it is shared with another home. This home has lots of junk in the yard. It didn't give me a great impression pulling up to the cabin. When you get to the cabin, the driveway was scary for me. Not much room for my full size SUV to turn around. When we arrived, we noticed several cameras outside pointed at the door and parking area.It kind of made me uneasy because I wondered if the cameras were because of crime or if someone was watching my every move. When we first went into the cabin, the door to the patio was wide open. It was very cold and windy that day so we assumed that the wind just blew it open. You could tell it had been open for awhile because it was 57 degrees in the house. When we shut the door, the knob was broken. We picked this cabin because it was pet friendly and near the area we needed to be at for our son's wedding, but as we were unloading the dog and our bags, I was regretting my decision and almost decided to take a loss on what we paid and stay somewhere else. I was just disappointed in the cleanliness. It looked like the basics had been done: clean toilet, empty trash, bed made, etc...there were many areas that had been overlooked for awhile. To be fair, I can be a little OCD about cleaning. The back of the couch is what you see when you first come in the door and it was filthy. It looked like a drink had been spilled on the back. There's a thick layer of dust on the curtains and things hanging on the wall. The sheets on the bed had mold on them. Someone didn't dry them all the way before making up the bed. When I sat down at the kitchen table, I sat in a cobweb that was between the wall and chair. There isn't a lot of yard to walk your dog and you don't want to walk your dog down the drive to the other house because they have several dogs who bark constantly. The electric can opener and the manual one, neither one worked. Most of the electrical outlets are worn, so everything you plug in, falls out. The toaster would only work if you held the button down. I was surprised to see a tip envelope for the cleaning person. It's not a bad place, just needs a scrubbing and some updating
We really enjoyed our Christmas in the Smokies and Cody's cabin felt like home for a week! The bed was super comfy! The fireplace was cozy! Super convenient to shopping and activities. Bring extra towels! Because of the fires, the cable was out but we didn't miss it all... Was nice to unplug from NEWS! We brought lots of movies with us to watch in the evenings! We are already planning our return trip here in the spring hopefully!!! Thanks Cody for sharing your lovely cabin in the woods!
First thoughts, I had my doubts paying by check in the mail, but everything went smoothly and the owner was great the entire trip through, everything as promised! Anything we needed, he answered calls or texts within an hour or less. From the moment we pulled into the driveway and saw the cabin, we knew it was perfect for us! My husband, myself, and our two dogs went and stayed at this cabin. It is VERY close to the National Forest, yet VERY close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge both. There is one other house on the driveway, but we never heard or saw them. The hot tub was perfect, the patio furniture was nice for relaxing, and the space inside the house was just enough for us to feel cozy and relaxed. The bed and pillows were so cozy, it was hard to want to get up :). We did not use the indoor Jacuzzi, though it did have a wonderful view that we could also see upon waking up. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend it.
Provided was a small amount of dish soap, a small amount of dishwasher detergent, a small amount of laundry detergent, a bar of soap for the bathroom, trash bags for the trash cans, a sponge for the sink, all towels and linens, some toilet paper, and some spices and some tin foil.
A couple of tips/ things we would do differently if we came back (and this is only because we stayed an entire week that we needed some of these things). We didn't see any firewood, but my husband likes splitting wood and happened to bring his ax so he split some logs for us and we got a lighter from a nearby store. The fire was great, we loved that it could be seen from both sides. We should have brought (but did not think about it): firewood, a lighter, extra paper towels and toilet paper from home (we use a lot), extra dish soap, another sink sponge (maybe), extra laundry detergent (we did two loads of laundry before leaving), a fluffy beach towel for getting out of the hot tub, plastic baggies (big and small) and Tupperware for storing cooked or uncooked foods. These are only things I think we needed, but it was not any kind of inconvenience and does not affect our view of the property. They are simply things I had at home that could save a couple $$ here and there. Also I wish we had brought extra of this stuff to leave there, as we used the last of a couple of items and had seen a few things other's may have left behind to be kind.
I can't say enough great things, great stay, hoping to come back very soon!!
This property is at the end of a drive with only 2 houses on it. It is quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. A very clean and comfortable cabin in a wonderful sitting. When you look out the large windows (away from the drive side and where the deck is located) you are up in the trees and it gives the impression that you are staying in a tree house. My wife and I spent the most part of a week here for our anniversary and we both loved just the place. We have had 6 stays in the last 5 years in this area. We have been very lucky to have stayed in some awesome rentals from a few in Wears Valley just outside of Pigeon Forge, over to the East in the Cosby area, and now to this cabin just outside of Gatlinburg. Even though we have not had a bad stay yet and all the rentals have been wonderful, we both agree that this is the one we most want to come back to. It is pet friendly and we love the fact that it was cleaned so well we could not tell that there had ever been a pet stay there. The location of the cabin makes you feel like your miles away from everything, but in reality you are just a short drive of less than 5 minutes to the very center of Gatlinburg and all its restaurants, shops, and sights. The owner, Cody was great to work with from start to finish. We had one small glitch with the dish washer when we first arrived and Cody got a repair man there quickly, and he also kept us very well informed of what was being done to correct the problem so we weren't left wondering what was happening and when a repair man would be there. We give Cody 5 stars for attention, correspondence, and correction of this minor problem. In closing... Cody, both Lori and I wish to give our thanks to you for sharing this wonderful cabin with us and making sure our stay there was so enjoyable. We are looking forward to working with you again for another stay at your cabin if the good Lord is willing and blesses us with the chance. Curtis
This cabin is perfect for couples, no matter their age. It's in a nice wooded & secluded location yet close to the Smokies and all the the attractions. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking or walking around town. The fireplace was the perfect end for a busy day. I always wanted to visit the Smokies after driving thru them in 2004. Finally got my wish and this was the perfect place from which to explore them.
We come to the Smoky Mountains 4 or 5 times a year and this cabin is always our 1st choice. Unfortunately, a lot of other people love it too so it is tough to get a reservation without some early planning. This last trip was very last minute so I didn't think we had a shot, but Cody came to the rescue and worked it out so we could stay two nights here and move to his other cabin for the remainder of the week. He even had the larger cabin cleaned early so we wouldn't be inconvenienced by waiting until standard time to check in. You could not ask for a better owner or cabin.

After Staying at other rental properties I learned that charging extra fees, hidden fees, taxes, and anything else they can come with just confused and irritated me. So that's why i am proud to announce no fees just flat rates. And there is also no reason to hike up prices just for holidays. My bank dose not charge me more for holidays why should I charge you more??
