Overview

About the property

Apartment with 2.5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, sleeps 6

This totally renovated rustico apartment is in Costa d'Oneglia a small village surrounded by olive trees situated on a hill crest kissed by the sun all day . It is only 3 km away from the centre of Imperia yet in a totally quiet place.

The house is hundreds of years old and the stone walls almost 1 metre thick. Every room is colored differently in warm mediterranean colors.

Adults and children alike will experience a color therapy staying in this fairy tale apartment.

A car is recommended but not necessary as there is a bus service to Costa d'Oneglia every few hours.

Imperia is the capital city of the province. It is known for its high quality olive oil production. Unlike most tourist towns on the coast Imperia is lively all year round but not overly crowded.

The new yacht harbours have attracted some of the biggest yachts in the world. Imperia is going to be the new St. Tropez in the coming years.

Clean and lots of space. Typical small town location, unique for us Canadians. Easy to access.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very clean and had all the amenities we required. We liked that there were towels we could use to take to the beach. The children thought the decor was really neat, and they liked to have their own bed.

We thought this was one of the most neat little towns we've ever been to. We felt like we experienced the heart and soul of the village being so close to the town square. Local life, scooters, people walking, older Italians sitting on benches speaking very animated.

It was very warm in the house and difficult for us Canadians to sleep but this is to be expected.

Thank-you for sharing your home with us!

Owner's Response: Dear Jeremy, I am glad you had a wonderful experience and thank you very much for nice review. I hope you used the two portable aircons, they manage to cool the house to a level that sleeping should not be a problem. Temps won't go much below 24 degrees though. I wish you a very good continuation of your holidays in Europe. Best regards Placido

very nice surprise

  • 5 of 5

We were impressed with the whole experience we had in Costa d'Oneglia. The house is exactly as the previous reviewers described it. We were two families with 3 children, the owner actually provided an extra inflatable mattress to suit us. It's easy to get to the village from the highway, but make sure you follow the instructions for where to park your car, if you get inside the village with your car things might get difficult. If you see the sign that says "Costa D'Oneglia" you're too far. The street where you can park your car is just before that sign, it's a steep road on your right. We took the entrance from Imperia Est, I'm not sure if there is another entrance. We found the house easy, it's a 5 minute walk from where you park your car. The village and the house were a nice surprise, very rustic, the house is very clean and well equipped for any needs. The only thing we found ourselves in need for and couldn't find is instructions on how to use the washer. Not a big thing, we managed eventually. Right around the corner from the house there is the village bar, where you can find something to eat. We got there late at night past 10pm and the bar lady was kind enough to bake a couple of good and cheap pizzas for us. About the beaches around the area, when we went they were very crowded and finding parking was a bit of an issue. You might consider going to a private beach, 25EUR will get you 2 beds and an umbrella. Look for a lot of identical umbrellas and that's a private beach. A nice little beach was at San Lorenza al Mare, also Andora. The one in Imperia is the biggest one. All these three are sand beaches, there are also a lot of beaches with no sand, just rocks. All in all, a great experience, thank you, Placido, you've done a great job with the house, congratulations to your designer/decorator!

Abounds with charm and comfort!

  • 5 of 5

What a joy to find this wonderful apartment and stay there for 5 days. The owner is SO helpful -- gave perfect directions to the apartment, the town and things to do in the area. The listing is quite accurate -- there are beds for 6 in three separate areas with two large well-equipped bathrooms (rare in Italy). The kitchen area is small but quite adequate (espresso machine!) and there is an extra refrigerator in the living room area for keeping drinks cold. (The living room also had two futons which could sleep 2-4 more people if needed). We enjoyed eating in both the dining area and out on the terrace/roof. The living room was very comfortable for watching TV and playing games as a family -- we really liked that.

You need a car and also good legs for walking up from the town's parking area to the apartment. There is a little grocery and a bar in town, but you'll want to do your major shopping in Oneglia, about 3 km down the narrow road into town.

From here we went to Porto Maurizio (a wonderful restaurant recommended by the owner, Oneglia, Alassio, Andora (lovely sandy beach, no crowds), Albenga and all sorts of other small towns. A terrific vacation based in a GREAT apartment -- everything you need is there and style abounds! Highly, highly recommended.

Great place - wonderful rustico!

  • 5 of 5

We did find this place by chance and spent a wonderful week in this lovely apartment. Everything you need is there - from the original italian espresso-machine to a full equipped playstation (for our twelve year old). The flat is very romantic, having rooms on different floors. There is also a lovely terrace on the rooftop.

A small and very italian shop is just around the corner. There you can find everything for breakfast and also some pasta. As there is a well equipped kitchen you easily can do some cooking.

The rustico is located high above the city of implenia in a romantic, very little village. So you have to have a car. We did some great excursions to Monte Carlo, Alassio and many other nice places.

The owners are very nice, italian people. Besides italian they speak english and german perfectly.

We can strongly recommend this place and we are looking forward to going to this charming italian apartment again soon.

Sehr schöne Ferienwohnung

  • 5 of 5

Swiss standards in Italia

  • 5 of 5

Fazit: Sofort zulangen!
