The cabin was quaint and decorated as if at a resort lodge. The sleeping quarters were if you were staying in a high priced Bed and Breakfast. An additional treat was that we were always visited by wildlife (deer and one morning wild turkeys). The jacussi was always inviting and used almost every night.
Day times were spent on the lake. Fishing in the morning, at the beach or the spacious pool in the afternoons. On one occasion we spent an afternoon in Jim Thorpe visiting the rail station and the shops.
The restaurants were diverse, reasonably priced and excellent cuisine.
The owners Jim and Natalie were always available (via phone or e-mail) though there was little need to contact them.
It's too late now, but I should have booked two weeks, not one.
Comfy, cozy little place in a quiet, but not remote area. The convenience store down the road was a real plus! We loved the well maintained hot tub as well. Perfect for a relaxing weekend with friends!
Spent our third summer vacation in a row there and it was fantastic as usual! Cozy place in a beautiful location with all the right amenities for fun as well as relaxation. The owners are always friendly and responsive.
This is my third or fourth time staying at the Kegelman's Log home and I absolutely love it. Its so quiet and relaxing, the house is clean and well taken care of. The hot tub is absolutely sensational. Natalie Kegelman is a delight on the phone and in emails, always willing to answer questions. I really hope to keep this tradition going for many years to come. Thank you so much Natalie!
Place is much nicer and spacious than it appears in the photos. Hot tub was the perfect treat after a long day of skiing at blue mountain 30 min away. Entire neighborhood is beautiful and worth a walk around to view the other houses and nearby lake. Cabin is close to philly ~1.5hrs but feels like you're in the middle of the wilderness. Would def recommend and we're looking at weekends to rent for next year
I should have posted this a long time ago but have been super crazy with my job. Anyway… I stayed in the cabin this past fall with my mother and my brother to celebrate our birthday and it was a really amazing experience! Better than expected!!!
Natalie was very helpful with the information about the place. The first thing I have to say is that the photos on the website don't show the reality, because after you see the cabin in person, you realize that everything is even better that what you saw in the pics.
The cabin looks like one of these from the movies, very cozy, warm and with everything you need and more. I was impressed with the amount of space, inside and outside. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. And of course one of our most favorite features was the hob tub that was very clean and easy to use. We spent a lot of time there relaxing and talking and enjoying the nature that surrounds the cabin.
Other feature that we loved was the gas fireplace which makes the cabin super comfy. However, the first night we had some problems making it to work, but after emailing Natalie we got the fireplace to work properly. And btw, Natalie answered very fast to our emails. She was very helpful.
And of course, besides the cabin, we love the location. The surroundings were very beautiful and with a lot of places to go. But if you are looking to a place to relax, this is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet long weekend .
Without a doubt I definitely recommend this place.
