What’ll it be this morning? A round of golf at the Maggie Valley Country Club, or maybe a scenic drive with the family to ooh and aah at the sunset-colored fall foliage on the Blue Ridge Parkway? Some boating on Lake Junaluska, or snowboarding at Cataloochee Ski Resort, followed by a mug of cocoa in the hot tub?

Maybe another cup of coffee by the crackling fire while you think it over. This is your vacation, after all, and at Everview, you’ve got all the time in the world.

WHY EVERVIEW?

1. Because there’s nothing like the Great Smoky Mountains in the fall, and Everview has 360-degree vistas from its two-story back and front decks. Because you’re only minutes from the slopes in winter and a short drive from Sliding Rock--nature’s funnest waterslide--in the summer.

2. Because our 4-bedroom cabin’s open layout and smartly designed master suites give you family time when you want it, privacy when you don’t.

3. And because you don’t need to overthink your vacation. Everview comes stocked with everything you need to feel at home, from shampoo and conditioner to olive oil and laundry detergent.

Wake up in one of TWO main-level master suites, each equipped with its own full bath and luxurious king beds made up with the coziest Egyptian cotton sheets. Start your morning with breakfast on the open-concept main level, with its stone fireplace, breakfast bar, and formal dining room.

Spend the day exploring the great outdoors or shopping in town, and unwind in a rocking chair on the back deck with a glass of wine as the stars twinkle into view.

By evening, leave the lower level to the kids. The downstairs den has its own fireplace, books, games, and an HDTV to keep them entertained for hours before they retreat to the 2 lower-level bedrooms: one with a queen bed, the other with two twins.

CLOSE TO EVERYTHING IN WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA

Planning activities for a group can be a challenge, but not at Everview, which is nestled into the mountains of Western North Carolina, just outside of Waynesville. Foodies can eat their way through nearby Asheville, just 30 minutes away, where each restaurant is better than the last and a new craft brewery seems to crop up every week. History buffs are only 30 miles from the awe-inspiring Biltmore Estate. And thrill-seekers are perfectly positioned to explore the region’s best mountain biking, downhill skiing, zip-lining, white water rafting, boating and more.

And did we mention there are five golf courses within 12 miles of the house? Or just stick close to Waynesville for a Main Street, USA experience -- we’ve got a whole list of our favorite local spots to share with you when arrive. With eye-popping views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Everview puts the excitement of Western NC at your fingertips.

If you have any questions or would like additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me via telephone (786-412-0912) or email (marilyn@mountaingetaways.net). I would love to help make your trip to Western North Carolina the best you have ever experienced!

About Marilyn Butler

We find that many of our guests are extended families, which is how we love to travel ourselves! The layout and spaciousness at Everview gives folks an opportunity to spend time gathered around the kitchen or grilling out on the deck and helps build wonderful memories together in a gorgeous setting. When you want to get out, there is no shortage of attractions and activities the whole family can enjoy year-round. We have owned our home a number of years now and still haven't visited all of the places of interest nearby!

Many of our guests return year after year to Everview. They know they will find everything they need here - they just need to pack clothes, pick up a few grocery items, and enjoy the comforts of their home away from home. Like having their own vacation property... but without the expense!

Even though we live in Florida and only get to greet guests by phone or email, they have been some of the nicest people we have ever encountered. Hotels can't offer the warmth and comfort an actual home provides. We want our guests to feel like family and hope that by making their stay as stress-free as possible, they will consider us a part of theirs too.

Marilyn Butler purchased this house in 2011

Why Marilyn Butler chose Waynesville

This area of North Carolina is absolutely gorgeous any time of year. We love to visit and want to share the experience with others who want to get away from the grind of daily life and take some time to just enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds Everview.

What makes this house unique

No matter where you are in the house, you will be able to gaze out a door or window and just say ...ahhhhh. The views and neighborhood are absolutely magnificent. Doing the dishes will not seem like a chore anymore when you see what's beyond the window by the sink.

We've supplied you with the many conveniences you expect to find at home, so that you can spend most of your stay for its intended purpose. And when you finally get a chance to relax on the rockers, you'll forget your troubles and feel like you've experienced a spa treatment.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Hello Marilyn,

We had a wonderful time, your home was everything and then some. It was clean, neat, and in a great location for doing all the area attractions. I am looking forward to doing it again next year. The neighborhood was safe, quite and upscale. You provided everything one could want from the hair dryers to the wine opener. Thanks for letting us share your beautiful home. If any one would like to contact me with reference to my above comments to help them determine if this is the right rental for them please do so.

Thanks,

Beautiful home but some issues

  • 4 of 5

We were thrilled when we pulled up to the front done of this home. It is a beautiful home BUT there were somethings I was so disappointed with.

When we tried to go out on the deck the frenchdoors are DIFFICULT TO OPEN. . . . couldn't get one open at all. Both screen doors on the deck were totally off the tracks and you couldn't use them.

Also this is a home for 8 people. There were hardly any towels and wash cloths. If we hadn't taken some with us we would have had to go out and buy some. Ridiculous. I was so disappointed.

BUT the one thing that bothered me the most was when I read the checkout instructions it said it would be a great help to the clean up person if we removed the sheets off the beds we used AS THIS WOULD ENSURE CLEAN BEDS FOR THE NEXT GUESTS! I read that the first day and I worried that the person before us did not remove the sheets and the cleanup person did not clean them. It really upset my senior citizens ladies when I read that PLUS we paid $120 for cleaning fee. We pulled the sheets and towels we used and put them in the laundry room so that the next guests would be sure to have clean beds.

It is a beautiful home but the doors need to be repaired and towels and wash cloths need to be replenished. There were not dish towels or dishrags at all.

Owner's Response: Dear Teresa, I’m sorry that we did not live up to your expectations during your stay. We provide all guests with several means of contact including a sign on the refrigerator should any issue arise. Unfortunately, you decided not to reach out to me or these concerns could have been mitigated and misconceptions avoided. Regarding the French doors/screens, we are now searching for a fourth company to make the necessary repairs to the screens. Prior guests have walked right into them and bent the tracks. The first three companies have failed to keep appointments or provide me with an estimate. I was not aware that the doors were difficult to open until now, but will have those looked at as well. Thank you for pointing that out and we will make sure to advise all future guests prior to check-in until repairs are made. We keep an inventory of all items and make replacements as needed for all supplies. Our current count is 16 bath towels, 8 hand towels, and 8 washcloths. Plus, if you use the hot tub, there are additional towels available in the box right next to it. Your reservation was for a 3-night stay with seven guests and that quantity has proven to be more than adequate for my prior rentals. We also have a drawerful of dishtowels and dishrags for your use. Perhaps you didn’t search all the drawers as they are kept in one located in the kitchen island. Again, a quick phone call or text would have allowed me to direct you to it. The one thing I would like to stress more than anything is that cleanliness is our utmost priority and our housekeeping team does a tremendous job in ensuring that it meets our standards. You can be absolutely assured that all bed linens are washed after each rental. The reason we asked to start one load of towels or sheets is that since most of our rentals are back to back, waiting on the washer/dryer to finish their cycles caused delays for the arriving guests. The checkout details state that it is to “ensure that the house is ready for the next guests,” NOT to ensure clean beds as you have erroneously pointed out. Our new washer/dryer set runs more efficiently. It was our error and I apologize for not updating the checkout instructions to remove the request to start the first load. Our home is beautiful and we have been happy to offer it to many satisfied guests in the past few years. We’re sorry we didn’t please you 100%, but hopefully you’ll give us another chance soon to make it up to you.

Fantastic Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our time at this home. Everything was as pictured and the house was immaculate. The town of Waynesville is just 20 minutes away. We regularly go to Asheville for vacations but Waynesville and this house may be our new favorite destination!

You Simply can't miss at this property

  • 5 of 5

Just as advertised!

A quiet setting in the rolling countryside with the mountains in the distance coupled with a home in excellent condition made for a terrific stay in early June '17. The property made us feel right at home and were reluctant to leave.

The national park visitor center is about 45 minutes away , the Cataloochie Valley access road into the park is a short drive up I 40 and the Biltmore about 30 minutes or so.

Beautiful home and views.

  • 5 of 5

This property is beautiful with gorgeous views. The owner was responsive to all questions, I highly recommend staying here. We stayed with our three children (young adults) and my wife's parents. The house is situated on two floors which allowed everyone comfort as well as privacy. While there was an initial issue with the hot tub, the owner responded immediately with a remedy. We were able to enjoy the hot tub throughout our stay and the views, while in it, are spectacular. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, utensils and dishes. Spices were provided for cooking and starter packets where available for the washer and dryer as well as the bathrooms. They even supplied towels for the hot tub! We will definitely stay this property again when returning to the area.
