We own a small local Law Firm and love to travel.
Shari Zwirn purchased this house in 2004
We love this location for it's privacy as well as its proximity to the actual beach. We have small children and love that we are so close that we can hear the baby monitor from the beach.
We are actually ON the beach. As well as that we are so close to the Clearwater Pier as well as Clearwater Marina and so many great places to eat and see.
Our overall experience was good. The view was gorgeous and it was wonderful to be able to walk right out to the beach. The house could use a little attention. The closet door in the downstairs bathroom/laundry room was off its hinges, leaning against the wall. We noticed some mold around the air registers. The cookware utensils are a little worn. Several of the games are missing essential pieces and the movies are not in the cases. We called the owner and asked for help getting the main television downstairs to work. She wasn't familiar on what to do and said her husband would help us in the morning. We called and left a message the next day asking him to call when possible and never heard from him for the rest of the week. We didn't spend a lot of time watching television so we didn't want to go through a lot of hassle getting it to work but it would have been nice to use it at times. Overall the house was good, not great.
The location is perfect with a grass lawn leading through natural vegetation to the beach. We could sit at ground level in the yard, patio, or hammock, or on the second story balcony for a wider view. It is spectacular! The beach is great, and we enjoyed walking, wading and sand castles with the grandkids.
Shari has outfitted the house with everything we could have wanted. The furnishings are beautiful and tasteful. The kitchen is very functional . There are games for all ages. We used the grill on the private deck nearly every day. There are toys and floats for the beach and the beautiful pool. Oh, and the pool is really warm even on those cooler days. There are two beach tent canopies available, and we used one every day. We had a baby and a 3 year old, and there were booster seats, a pack 'n play, and other needed equipment.
The house is in a quiet area, but only a 10 minute drive from Clearwater, which has many activities. We were happy to just stay home on the beach except for a cruise on a pirate ship- a winner for our 3 year old grandson!
Shari was very accessible when we had questions and did everything possible to make this a wonderful, memorable trip. Thank you!
Perfect beach location in a quiet neighbourhood. The house is old but well maintained and very cozy. Size worked well for us (4 adults + children) but good to know the bed in the small bedroom is a bit on the small side for two adults. We enjoyed our stay!
Myself and family loved this beach home and ocean view so much that no one wanted to leave to do anything else, the water was crystal clear perfect temperature and the waves were different every day, lets not forget about the daily dolphin sightings. We arrived late and found the home with lights and AC on, the home itself was clean and supplied with everything we needed. What was also nice was the home was located in a residential area quiet, with supermarket just a short drive anyway, so much better than hotel. The owner was very helpful and accommodating would definitely give 5 stars and would return. JP Massachusetts
We were four adults and two children and stayed at this property for a week in December. It could not have been better for a family vacation. It has easy access to and from Tampa International Airport (30-40 minutes depending on traffic). The best thing about the house was it's direct access to the beach and the Gulf from the sitting room and patio. The main bedroom on the second floor opens to a deck overlookng the beach. The hypnotic sound of the waves was everywhere. At certain times we would close the windows and use the central A/C against the humidity. From the front door there was immediate access to a clean and heated pool, and the children easily shifted between the pool and the beach.
The house was clean, well-furnished, and well-equipped with wi-fi, games, and cable tv. There was plenty of kitchenware and all the appliances, showers, etc. worked well. We made good use of the charcoal grill. When we needed service or had a question, the owner was very responsive. On Christmas day we discovered one of the toilets was splashing, and the owner had a repairman at the property the next day.
Belleair Beach is a pleasant area of low-rises, and does not have the high-rises and commercial clutter of nearby Clearwater. We liked the Bonefish Grill, ten-minute drive away in Belleair Bluffs (reservastions needed for large groups), and were disappointed in the Spanish-themed "Columbia" Restaurant two miles north in Clearwater. There is easy access to supermarkets and other shopping within ten-twenty minutes by car. We also chartered a fishing boat from "Dos Amigos" for a 4-hour trip out of Clearwater. We caught enough gray snappers and porgies to make two dinners.
The only unpleasant part was a sudden attack of sand fleas on the beach one afternoon. At that time we could take refuge at the pool until the winds shifted.
We would highly recommend this villa for a maximum of four adults and two children.
