Linden Hall Farm Guest House
A Sojourn in the Country
Our Northern Virginia Guest House is your home in the country for a week or a weekend -- a peaceful and central location near the many attractions in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Western Maryland, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Enjoy a rural setting with upscale accommodations and privacy in a newly renovated farmhouse (circa 1790's) located on 35 acres in historic Loudoun County. The guest house is unique and separate from the main house, giving you your own private entrance, a fully equipped country kitchen, a living room and studio, so guests have plenty of space for privacy or gatherings. There are two beautifully decorated bedrooms upstairs, a small bedroom downstairs off the kitchen, and a newly renovated bathroom. The guest house features two porches, with one overlooking the gardens and the Blue Ridge mountains. There are stables and a ring available for horses. You are welcome to walk the grounds or swim or relax in our Endless Pool.
It just is a wonderful, peaceful, private setting!
Come hike, bike or ride your horse on the 184.5 mile long Chesapeake & Ohio Canal located along the north bank of the Potomac River, starting in Washington, DC and ending in Cumberland, MD. Hike the Appalachian Trail. Raft or kayak on the Potomac or Shenandoah Rivers, or visit historic Leesburg, Harper's Ferry or the many local Civil War battlefields, all within an hour or less scenic drive. Or, you can relax and enjoy the view of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains from your private porch, while sipping wine from the local vineyards. Or cool off in the same setting in our Endless Pool.
Visit award winning Virginia wineries, just minutes from the house. Dine at excellent restaurants within 30 minutes drive. Shop at antiques shops, Leesburg Outlets Mall, or in prominent locations such as Middleburg VA. Spend an evening at the Charles Town WV race track and casino. See museums, from the Brunswick Railroad Museum (5 min) to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum (40 min).
A commuter train to Washington is just 5 min away. Or just relax and enjoy the quiet setting.
Initial continental breakfast makings provided in a complete country kitchen.

About Bart Hodgson
Bart and Carol are your hosts at Linden Hall. The property was acquired in 1997. The previous owners had purchased the home in the 1960s and spent over 20 years restoring the rundown buildings, for which they won the 1984 Loudoun Preservation Society Merit Award. Since then, the Hodgson’s have continued to enhance the home inside and out. The Guest House was previously a rental home. In the Summer of 2009, the Hodgson’s decided to create an upscale lodging which would emphasize the rural setting and availability of local attractions. Over the following months, they labored to upgrade the kitchen, bathroom and furnishings throughout the residence. The doors to Linden Hall Guest House opened in November 2010.

COMFY AND CLOSE TO EVERYTHING
Just got back from this lovely place. Owners- outstanding! We had everything we needed. Any question answered. The back porch ahhhhhhh. The critters- dogs, mini donkeys, sheep- so cute! The house has every thing you need AND is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. I have stayed in many vrbo/homeaway properties and this is possibly the cleanest I have ever stayed at and clean is always my first priority - it makes everything comfortable.... Close to tons of wineries, Harpers Ferry and other cute country towns. Ate at WK Hearth- $$$ but worth EVERY PENNY!!!!!!!! Didn't use the pool because it is still too cold but I suppose that would be great too! Don't second guess yourself and just stay here!!!!!
Thank you, Pam. Beautifully put, and we will feature your review on our web page for a while. We work hard for reviews like this! Hope to see you again.
A wonderfully well-kept farmhouse with great views, amenities, and friendly hosts. A lovely spot to relax and enjoy. We loved our stay!
Loved Lovettsville and Linden Hall
Beautiful in all ways ... the farmhouse, the furnishings, the scenery and the warm and welcoming hosts. Everything to make you feel at home including farm fresh eggs. Lovettsville is a great location for horse folk ... central to many nearby show grounds and competitions in northern Virginia and Maryland. Great restaurants and tourist sites nearby too. Fabulous area for exploring.
Thank you Bart and Carol for the wonderful experience and we hope to be back again.
Cathy & Natalie,
Love the 'Ville with Bart and Carol
Our sincerest thank you for opening up your beautiful farm home to us, you have thought carefully about every detail one would need ... while staying away from home. 'Your property is beautiful, safe, well maintained, and you feel right at home the minute you arrive!" Your location is supreme for daily touring trips into Washington DC, Gettysburg and the list goes on and on. The area is well know for it's wineries and fine cuisine, and we have to agree. Thank you again for our lovely stay. Sincerely, The Ferguson's
Dear Scott and Belinda
Thank you for choosing our Guest House for your vacation in the DC area. While the city is 50 miles away, you seemed to handle that well, and found lots to do closer by, as well. You were the perfect guests! You really went all out leaving the Guest House in pristine condition. Thank you! We hope to see you again, soon.
Bart & Carol
A pastoral setting in a 1790’s house perfectly restored over the past 20 years by the gracious and hospital owners.
Thank you, Pack. It has been a labor of love.
Truly lovely and special place
The property is gorgeous. The furnishings are thoughtfully picked and placed. Bart and Carol thought of everything. Even when we had a hard time getting a table at a restaurant they called on our behalf and got us a seat on a busy Friday night. They left us some beautiful fresh eggs and other items to get us started. They also provided an incredible booklet of information about local activities as well as the history of the farm. I would recommend staying here.
Thank you, Liz. It was a pleasure having you and your parents stay with us. We believe that part of hosting is to help our guests enjoy themselves in the local area, since that is one of the many reasons our guests come here. We hope to see you again soon.
