Bryson City House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-11)

This dramatic custom designed home is situated at above 3000 feet elevation, it overlooks a rushing creek, and a small waterfall, both situated on the property. You can access the creek from the stairs cut into the hillside, or just sit on the terrace above the falls. The large back deck is situated above the road, and gives a panoramic view of the treetops. The firepit is perfect for an evening marshmellow roast. The creek is suitable for wading, and the melody of the rushing water provides for many a relaxing afternoon. There is an area suitable for swimming and sliding less than 2 miles from the house.

The back deck is ideal for outdoor dining, or just relaxing after a busy day. Our guests often comment that while we are a little out of the way, the peace and quiet and serenity at the end of the day is well worth it.

The home is ideally situated. We are 7 miles off of the Smokey Mountain Expressway, which provides easy access to many attractions. Some local attractions include Nantahala Rafting, Zip lining, Deep Creek Tubing, Great Smoky Mountain RR, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, Lake Fontana, Bryson City, Cherokee, Dillsboro, Sylva, Waynesville, and Maggie Valley. Other destinations within 1 to 2 hours drive, including Pigeon Forge, TN, Gatilinburg, TN, and Ashville, NC.

About Linda Carter

We are Kenny and Linda Carter from Crawfordville, Florida. We love to travel whenever we get the chance.

Linda Carter purchased this house in 2005

Why Linda Carter chose Bryson City Area

The sound of the waterfall is what sold us on this vacation home, It is quiet & secluded, and the melody of the water can be heard in the bedrooms,

The Bryson City location is central to many activities.

What makes this house unique

This home was a custom designed home. It has slate floors in the foyer & kitchen, tile floors in the baths. There is rustic wood paneling and catherdral ceilings in the livingroom. Most of our guests comment on how restful it is, and everyone enjoys the creek & falls.

A great place for a vacation in the mountains!

We were delighted with the cabin. It was comfortable, clean, well-furnished and just what we had been looking for. There were no surprises as the listing description was very accurate. The deck across the back and the screened porch on the front allowed us to spend many hours enjoying the outside. The falls provided a constant melody that was soothing to the soul. At first it seemed rather far from Bryson City and other destinations, but soon we discovered we enjoyed the drive to and from the cabin and being in the woods away from it all. We would definitely enjoy returning to this cabin another time.

Waterfall house

  • 4 of 5

Nice peaceful house with plenty of room and all the amenities of home. Creek with waterfall outback was nice also. It takes 15 minutes to come down each time though.

Beautiful property

  • 4 of 5

Our stay was awesome. We had plenty of room for our family. Kitchen has everything you need. Just bring clothes & food. The waterfall out back was so peaceful to listen to at night. Only issue we had was it is 8 miles up the mountain. It takes about 20-25 minutes to get to it, just so you know. Other than that, its a fantastic place.

Fals Melody

The Cabin:

The falls were right at the edge of the back yard; the sound of the water tumbling over rocks was peaceful, and we were able to forget any stress and enjoy the cabin. We arrived a little before dusk, and found a small lamp lit up inside welcoming us. We have rented other cabins a number of times and have been disappointed. This was a very well stocked cabin, as others earlier have mentioned, and we were very pleased and grateful. Thanks again for the use of this wonderful cabin!

Driving to Cabin:

The only problem we had was the gravel road to the cabin. We had a very small car (Honda Fit) and there were pot holes and washouts which really made driving a challenge. I would recommend future cabin renters use an SUV, as they are not so low to the ground and can handle mountain roads better.

Could stay forever

  • 5 of 5

This has to be the best place I've ever stayed! The first morning we were there I looked out the window over the kitchen sink and counted 8 wild turkeys in the yard! The amenities were excellent and absolutely more than we anticipated. The sound of the falls were so soothing and I slept better than I had for weeks. The owners are very responsive and a pleasure to work with. The location is great for day-trips to see waterfalls, to visit local craft venues and to visit out-of-the-way places like Fontana Dam.
