**Don't miss the Max Video Tour in the 'Links' section located under the Rate details! Saba Winds is a premier Captiva Island private home estate with over 148 feet of white sand Gulf beach front as part of Captiva's continuous five miles of beach. Unlike any other!

You will find the house tastefully decorated, light & airy with spacious rooms, luxurious baths and comfortable common areas. The back doors at Saba Winds open right onto the very private warm sandy beach. A screened lanai, private deck, pool deck and the beach deck nested in the sandy dunes all afford comfortable exposure to the outdoors. The location is a prestigious and quiet residential section of Captiva. From the moment you enter the estate, you'll know you've arrived someplace special. Stately royal palms line the pristine drive, and the lush tropical gardens have an instant soothing effect as you pass the pool on your way to the house.

And Saba Winds Estate enjoys a full water view of those spectacular Florida Gulf sunsets. Watch for the dolphins playing along the shoreline. Located within walking distance of the end of Sanibel, makes it ideal for biking and roller blading. Also within easy access of the restaurants, and the local store near blind pass.

Saba Winds is very family friendly - it's so easy with children here. There is a lot of room to play outdoors, well away from the road. You can relax on the beach deck with the beach in plain view, or set beach chairs directly on the sand. There is a sandy backyard area that is plain view of the screened lanai, as well as a beautiful grassy tropical lawn area. Also consider the beautiful den which you can designate as a kids area: hook up the video games, pull out the sofa bed and hang out. Sanibel Rentals can make any and all arrangements you may require for a roll-a-way bed, crib, playpen, etc.

STANDARD WEEKLY RENTALS ARE FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. OFF SEASON EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE, PLEASE INQURIE.

Great house! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

Our family had the greatest time during our stay at Saba Winds in Captiva. It's a very comfortable and spacious home - the perfect beach house. The location on the beach was ideal, too. Not too far to carry the beach chairs and enjoy the sun, sand and sea - and seashells! If it was too breezy or the water too cool, the swimming pool was a wonderful substitute. We enjoyed many lunches on the screened in lanai and cooked some great family meals in the kitchen. Amazing amount of wildlife in the area - especially birds. We had a bald eagle perch on the ironwood tree outside of the lanai every morning. She came every day, so we eventually named her Betsy Ross. Lots of great memories of our stay and we really enjoyed the home and the location.

Great Stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a wonderful stay and found the house to meet our needs perfectly. The property was nice and private, with the beach a short walk and the pool a great addition for our kids. The beach was quiet and not crowded though our section of beach hadn't been cleaned and had lots of dead, smelly fish and debris, which was a bit unpleasant. We just moved a little further down the beach to avoid, which wasn't a problem since it wasn't crowded. The house was laid out very nicely, and we appreciated the large screened porch in the back. I would second the previous review in suggesting the house be stocked with basic spices (ie salt and pepper, cooking oil) since

its a bit of a waste to buy just for a week. Other than that, we found the house very comfortable and perfect suited for our needs. We very much enjoyed it!

It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This...

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 9 friends thoroughly enjoyed Saba Winds this past week. The weather was excellent, with each day being sunny and in the mid to upper 80's.

The house is beautiful and is well layed out with a huge kitchen and very open living area that leads to a phenomenal back porch/deck area. The was plenty of seating for all 9 of us on the deck and we spent much of our time there. The kitchen was stocked with lots of utensils and pots/pans, etc. However we didn't find a cake pan. We also would like to suggest having a few spices available.

There was a big refrigerator in the kitchen and another full sized one in the downstairs apartment as well as a small one in the upstairs laundry. Plenty of room for both food and your favorite beverages! The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. My favorite...they had shower heads for tall people and good water pressure in the showers! Each bedroom had a walk-in closet with lots of room for clothing. There was also a washer/dryer upstairs and downstairs.

The downstairs apartment was very nice as well. It has a full kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a very roomy living area. You do have to go outside to access the apartment which presented no problems for our group.

The house is stocked with plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella. We saw some fishing poles, a few sand toys, and they furnish lots of nice beach towels. The pool area is also very nice with lots of seating and beautiful, lush vegetation (which surrounds the house).

Overall, the house is just phenomenal. The owner checked on us when we arrived and we had no problems during our stay. One of our highlights was we saw a bald eagle land right in front of the house! We were pretty sure he/she was gathering nesting materials. We later saw a biologist walking the beach taking counts and asked her about the eagle. She said they are beginning to nest at this time! The beach was wonderful, although a red tide had come through just before we arrived and there were lots of dead fish on the beach. The water was a little murky because of Hurricane Matthew, but by the end of the week the water was clearing. We found lots of small conch shells (2 to 3 inches) as well!

We will definitely be back! This house is a keeper in makes you want to come back again and again! In fact, our group of friends has done quite a bit of traveling all over, and they all agree this is the best house ever!

Good time was had by all

  • 5 of 5

The House is spacious, clean and well cared for. All of the appliances and furniture are relatively new and in good condition- The Ocean View from the living room window onto the beach is spectacular, especially with the sun setting in the middle of the deck window. The beach is just footsteps away through a tropical plant lined path. The beach is very private with very few people walking by during the day. plenty of beach towels chairs and umbrellas for use right there for the guests. We rented stand up paddle boards for the week and launched them every day from our private beach area- dolphins, manatees , tarpon and snook along with a variety of sea birds where everywhere. fished right off the beach. My sister and her two boys occupied the downstairs apartment , plenty of room and all appliances TV's beds etc.The pool area is beautiful and well maintained also has new lounge chairs. Pool temp around 85 degrees. The fact that it was sunny and warm every day with little rain for the week was a positive factor. All things said:If You are a beach / sun person this is paradise .there are stairs going to the upstairs section of the house to be dealt with that could be an issue for some people, however there are no stairs involved with the downstairs apartment area.

Private piece of Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house in August of 2016 for our growing family of 8 adults and one baby. We used all the bedrooms and the downstairs beds, we didn't need to use the den for sleeping. The den space is really very nice and easily could be used for another private bedroom. It was nice to have 4 full bathrooms. The pool was shaded in the afternoon and great if you felt like you got too much sun earlier in the day. The baby monitor that we brought with us reached from the back bedrooms to the pool. The kitchen has recently been remodeled and have nice modern appliances! The full size grill was great for fixing fresh fish!

The beach was very private and beautiful! It was wide, with beautiful white sand and shells. The sand was hot in August, but flip flops were adequate, you don't necessarily need water shoes. We brought water shoes but only used them for long walks on the beach. We were excited to see multiple turtle nests, marked to keep humans away! Easy walk to Sanibel to the south, take your shoes so you can walk across the bridge. The water of the gulf was calm with mild waves mostly, we had rain a few days and some stronger waves those days. We still managed to get out of the beach every day. The rain made us miss the sunset a few days, but it is beautiful from this house (no need to go anywhere to view the sunset).

There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs and two umbrellas. I noticed beach toys as well. I brought a few inflatable floats, which were fun in the pool and in the gulf! They don't take up much room in your suitcase. The only thing I wish I had rented was maybe another umbrella or two or a beach tent of some kind, because in August the sun is pretty strong. It was cloudy the beginning of the week and once it got sunny we just took turns under the umbrellas. If you have multiple children you may need more beach toys, but there are some there.

The house is a little difficult to find, the sign is very small with the house name and there is no indication of house number at the street. Watch the other house numbers to find it.

This was a wonderful house and we all intend to come back in a few years! When we come back we want to stay here again (which is unusual for us)!

Owner's Response: Thank you for the review on our home, we strive to make our guests stay as easy, comfortable and fun as possible. We have to agree the beaches are wonderful as well as the sunsets, and are glad you enjoyed it. In follow up on your comments, we will add another umbrella or two as you suggest. For tents, they are more complicated to put up and take down so we encourage renters to bring one if they prefer using them

Best Vacation Ever. Gorgeous Property!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this house for its location, screened porch ocean view and separate living space downstairs. We were not disappointed! This was our third rental on Captiva and was our favorite for the size group we had - 5 adults and 2 kids. We loved it. The views were great from the porch and the master bedroom. Everyone from my 5 and 10 year old kids to my 70 year old father had the best time. The "flex" space den could easily accommodate more - kids/teenagers especially. Location was perfect for us. Short path to beach and tons of extras. Comfy furniture and lots of rooms to spread out! Was very clean. Pool is perfect for younger kids - two shallow ends. Pool furniture was also clean and comfy. We loved that is was private and shaded at different times of the day. Landscaping was gorgeous. Kitchen had everything needed to cook in and the outdoor grill worked great. Directions to tv, etc. were all there and easy to follow. Appliances easy to use. We stay at many rentals and this is a big deal to us! Two maintenance issues were identified to us upon check-in but rectified with no inconvenience to us. Beach towels, small coolers, lots of bath towels/sheets and blankets were available there. Two things I would request - hair dryers and more hooks/or foldable drying racks for towels/swimwear. We will be back!
