Saba Winds is a premier Captiva Island private home estate with over 148 feet of white sand Gulf beach front as part of Captiva's continuous five miles of beach. Unlike any other!
You will find the house tastefully decorated, light & airy with spacious rooms, luxurious baths and comfortable common areas. The back doors at Saba Winds open right onto the very private warm sandy beach. A screened lanai, private deck, pool deck and the beach deck nested in the sandy dunes all afford comfortable exposure to the outdoors. The location is a prestigious and quiet residential section of Captiva. From the moment you enter the estate, you'll know you've arrived someplace special. Stately royal palms line the pristine drive, and the lush tropical gardens have an instant soothing effect as you pass the pool on your way to the house.
And Saba Winds Estate enjoys a full water view of those spectacular Florida Gulf sunsets. Watch for the dolphins playing along the shoreline. Located within walking distance of the end of Sanibel, makes it ideal for biking and roller blading. Also within easy access of the restaurants, and the local store near blind pass.
Saba Winds is very family friendly - it's so easy with children here. There is a lot of room to play outdoors, well away from the road. You can relax on the beach deck with the beach in plain view, or set beach chairs directly on the sand. There is a sandy backyard area that is plain view of the screened lanai, as well as a beautiful grassy tropical lawn area. Also consider the beautiful den which you can designate as a kids area: hook up the video games, pull out the sofa bed and hang out. Sanibel Rentals can make any and all arrangements you may require for a roll-a-way bed, crib, playpen, etc.
STANDARD WEEKLY RENTALS ARE FROM SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. OFF SEASON EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE, PLEASE INQURIE.

Perfect location on Captiva! Lots of Space
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Saba Winds! It is the perfect location on Captiva, just over the bridge from Sanibel. You basically have your own private beach! The home is spacious beyond belief. Plenty of room to spread out and not feel crowded. We were a family of 6 and didn't even need to use the lower level. Loved having the adirondack chairs for the beach and beach chairs. The pool was perfect! Kids loved taking breaks from the beach to play in the pool. Property was exactly as described and in photos. We were close enough for a short drive to Doc Fords, Bubble Room, Mucky Duck and also not far to get to the tourist areas of Sanibel. You can't go wrong staying here. Highly recommend.
Thank you for your review on our guest home. We are happy that you and your family enjoyed your visit with us and were able to enjoy all that Captiva and Sanibel have to offer. We hope to see you in the future.
A very nice property. Great location, right on the beach. Water was unbelievably warm, and we gathered well over 100 beautiful shells. The pool was exceptional - large and clean, a nice break from the beach. House was as advertised, the bottom apartment worked well for our group that included a couple with a small child. Had a problem with the dryer, but the management company had it replaced within a few days. Overall, we enjoyed it tremendously!
Thank you for taking the time to review our vacation property. We are happy you enjoyed your time at Saba Winds. Our family, as well, has always enjoyed the beach and the unique shells we find. Hope you will come back and stay with us again.
Great location on the beach
A great location on the beach with lots of foliage providing privacy. With no public access nearby, the beach is very secluded. The pool was great for small children, having two shallow ends and a middle not too deep. The house itself had nice furnishings and appliances (although strangely not a garbage disposal--maybe because of the septic system?). The amount of linens and beach towels provided was extremely generous. The only negative is that the bathrooms were in need of some refreshing--grout and the like.
Thank you for taking time to review Saba Winds, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the privacy and seclusion our beach home offers as well as the pool area. Thank you for your suggestion about refreshing the bathrooms we always try to improve our home and guests reviews help us. Thank you.
Great house! Great location!
Our family had the greatest time during our stay at Saba Winds in Captiva. It's a very comfortable and spacious home - the perfect beach house. The location on the beach was ideal, too. Not too far to carry the beach chairs and enjoy the sun, sand and sea - and seashells! If it was too breezy or the water too cool, the swimming pool was a wonderful substitute. We enjoyed many lunches on the screened in lanai and cooked some great family meals in the kitchen. Amazing amount of wildlife in the area - especially birds. We had a bald eagle perch on the ironwood tree outside of the lanai every morning. She came every day, so we eventually named her Betsy Ross. Lots of great memories of our stay and we really enjoyed the home and the location.
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Saba Winds and enjoyed the wildlife. We find it is always hard to leave and hope that you will consider us should you decide to return to Captiva in the future.
We had a wonderful stay and found the house to meet our needs perfectly. The property was nice and private, with the beach a short walk and the pool a great addition for our kids. The beach was quiet and not crowded though our section of beach hadn't been cleaned and had lots of dead, smelly fish and debris, which was a bit unpleasant. We just moved a little further down the beach to avoid, which wasn't a problem since it wasn't crowded. The house was laid out very nicely, and we appreciated the large screened porch in the back. I would second the previous review in suggesting the house be stocked with basic spices (ie salt and pepper, cooking oil) since
its a bit of a waste to buy just for a week. Other than that, we found the house very comfortable and perfect suited for our needs. We very much enjoyed it!
It Just Doesn't Get Any Better Than This...
Our group of 9 friends thoroughly enjoyed Saba Winds this past week. The weather was excellent, with each day being sunny and in the mid to upper 80's.
The house is beautiful and is well layed out with a huge kitchen and very open living area that leads to a phenomenal back porch/deck area. The was plenty of seating for all 9 of us on the deck and we spent much of our time there. The kitchen was stocked with lots of utensils and pots/pans, etc. However we didn't find a cake pan. We also would like to suggest having a few spices available.
There was a big refrigerator in the kitchen and another full sized one in the downstairs apartment as well as a small one in the upstairs laundry. Plenty of room for both food and your favorite beverages! The beds were all comfortable and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. My favorite...they had shower heads for tall people and good water pressure in the showers! Each bedroom had a walk-in closet with lots of room for clothing. There was also a washer/dryer upstairs and downstairs.
The downstairs apartment was very nice as well. It has a full kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a very roomy living area. You do have to go outside to access the apartment which presented no problems for our group.
The house is stocked with plenty of beach chairs and an umbrella. We saw some fishing poles, a few sand toys, and they furnish lots of nice beach towels. The pool area is also very nice with lots of seating and beautiful, lush vegetation (which surrounds the house).
Overall, the house is just phenomenal. The owner checked on us when we arrived and we had no problems during our stay. One of our highlights was we saw a bald eagle land right in front of the house! We were pretty sure he/she was gathering nesting materials. We later saw a biologist walking the beach taking counts and asked her about the eagle. She said they are beginning to nest at this time! The beach was wonderful, although a red tide had come through just before we arrived and there were lots of dead fish on the beach. The water was a little murky because of Hurricane Matthew, but by the end of the week the water was clearing. We found lots of small conch shells (2 to 3 inches) as well!
We will definitely be back! This house is a keeper in makes you want to come back again and again! In fact, our group of friends has done quite a bit of traveling all over, and they all agree this is the best house ever!
We strive to make our guests feel welcome and at home in our guest house. We will order cake pans and spices for future guests, and appreciate your letting us know. We try hard to make sure that our guests have everything they need to enjoy their stay and are glad that you got to experience watching the local bald eagle(s), it is always a beautiful experience to see them.
