About Michael Baietti

I'm an Englishman living in San Francisco and part-time in Puerto Vallarta. I also run safaris in South Africa, Botswana and Namibia. Previously I lectured in Economics and Political Science and then had a successful business career in Silicon Valley. I'm a skier, road biker, horse rider, golfer and father of two adult kids.

Michael Baietti purchased this villa in 2007

Why Michael Baietti chose Puerto Vallarta

The villa offers me seclusion and serenity with the very best views of both the Bay and the jungle with bougainvillea, birds and butterflies everywhere.Yet we are only a short 5 minute car drive to the beach, restaurants, clubs and the shopping of Old Town. I love this place.

What makes this villa unique

We are a small village-type community of 14 villas set up the hill from Old Town. To say the place is beautiful is an under-statement. Neighbors are friendly. Pets are welcome. And you have free use of the Ford Escape to get around. This is a very special place.

Quietly beautiful

  • 5 of 5

This home is so well suited for a family. We come to pv often and love this area. This yr we had family come stay with us so we rented this home. It was clean (super important to me ) private and had stellar views. Fernando (care taker) was super helpful and kind. We hosted a party for my in laws 50th anniversary and the space was perfect. (About 20)

Beds are conformable and bedding is good. Plenty of towels.

Kitchen has all the basics

Hardly ever turned on the ac as the breeze flows thru the home perfect.

Bob ( owner) was great to deal with. Emails were prompt and clear.

Would not hesitate to rent it again!

Thanks for a great visit.

A Little Bit of Paradise - no really a lot of Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Six of us stayed for six nights at this accommodation. The view is absolutely gorgeous from the private patio. Two lovely pools with extraordinary views! The accommodation was excellent, comfortable, clean with everything we needed. The car is a definite bonus as one would not want to walk up and down the hill - and the car helps avoid the expense of taxis (although they are cheap)! Fernando picked us up from the airport as arranged, to us to the accommodation and showed us around the house. He was very helpful and great to deal with. Bob - loved the accommodation and would not hesitate to book in the future - recommend to groups and families - super accommodation. Only negative - there were no hair blowers but then again it is pretty warm here!

Absolutely AMAZING

  • 5 of 5

Me and other 6 six friends stayed at this lovely Villa and it was incredible!

We expected a nice place, but when we got there it was so much more than we expected! Seriously! The pictures do not do justice to this place, it is absolutely amazing! When I go back to Puerto Vallarta, I will book this property again! It is safe, fun and beautiful, and the view will take your breath away!! Also, Fernando was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and the whole experience was just amazing! You will have the time of your life!! :D :D :D We left really happy and thankful :)

great time

Casa Passion,is a property that has a lot to offer young and old for relaxation and fun, it is situated up from the old town , It's exterior grounds in the gated community are beautiful with a cobblestone driveway and lovely flowers ,a car is a must as the road to town is very steep ,it can be walked but one must be in shape .Fernando the care taker was excellent even though he did not pick us up at our arrival as planned , he dropped by the villa at least 3 times per week to say hello and make sure all was ok and to see if we needed anything it was appreciated .Ogla the maid all I can say was excellent thank you .Manuel the grounds keeper, you could not meet a nicer and friendlier person willing to help you make you stay more enjoyable. I must say all the people I met in the complex were wonderful .I gave the villa 4 stars not 5, reason 1) The villa needs screens on the windows and doors ,we had several unwanted visitors ,insects ,bees, birds, even iguana, all are harmless but a nuisance .2) The villa needs a new television if you are there for a week or two you would not watch ,but being there for two months you would like to watch the television occasionally ,the sound and picture are not good plus there is no English channels . 3)Lounge Chairs there were two when we arrived ,one had a hole we patched it with tap but with in a week we could no longer use ,Fernando took it away saying it would be repaired or replaced which never happened so for the remainder of the time which was 7 weeks we only had the use of one lounge chair for four people .I would like to thank Bob for the use of his villa ,it was the villa and the Mexican people who made are stay in Mexico a most enjoyable experience ,I would certainly recommend the villa to any persons looking for a place to stay while in Puerto Vallarta .thank you Bob.Jim

Owner's Response: A quick note to say the lounge chair and the TV will be replaced directly. And there are 4 regular beach chairs in addition to the lounge chairs. As to the comment regarding the screens the villa has transparent meshed roller blinds that let in the sunlight and fresh air but keep out the unwanted insects. And I should mention that I include the Ford Escape at no cost with the rental so as to make the journey up and down the hill an easy and comfortable one.

Beautiful location, missing on details

  • 3 of 5

I want to start off by saying that Jorge, the contact in Puerto Vallarta, was really great. He did the best he could with a bad situation when the people before us had broken the car and it had to go into the shop twice. He picked us up and even got beer for us when we were stuck at the house for over 4 hours waiting for the keys. It did really suck but I can't ding the place for that unfortunate situation. A car really is necessary for the house's location though so we took a lot of taxis. Partly because when we did get the car, it didn't have A/C so warning, don't plan on going farther than to town and back.

All of that aside, the view is awesome and we loved our privacy in the gated community at the top of the hill at the end of the road. The community pools were clean and we never saw anyone else any of the 4 or 5 different times we were at either of them. A few shortcomings on the details at the place: There was a giant soaker tub inside but it didn't work and the real downfall was that the hot water tank couldn't even fill it up 1/4 of the way. Actually, we couldn't all take showers after one another because of the small water tank. The other bummer was the lizards that snuck into the house through the cracks in the ceiling and doors - a bit creepy when they get into your bags. And although all of the fans and A/C units worked they were very noisy and squeaky. Lastly, the beds were hard! We didn't sleep the first night and moved rooms where it was a bit better but it was uncomfortable to say the least.

Overall, it was a lovely place and we had a good time and aren't at all sad about our trip but the little details that are missing means I must give it 3 stars. Thank you for sharing your place with us Bob!

Located on the gorgeous Banderas Bay on Mexico's Pacific Coast, surrounded by mountains, rivers, coastline and beaches, Puerto Vallarta is a mecca for tourists and holiday-makers. It is also a party town with more excellent bars, first class restaurants and night clubs than you can shake a stick at.

According to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board: “We have everything a visitor could want, from zip lining in Mexico’s longest line to ATV to swimming with the dolphins to releasing crocodiles and turtles to whale watching and mountain climbing.'

PV is also home to both local and international residents, including many Canadian and U.S. expats and retirees who now call PV home. Time and again Puerto Vallarta has been named one of the best places in Mexico to retire, which speaks volumes about its safety and desirability.

According to AARP, “Our choice in Mexico is the Puerto Vallarta region, located on the Pacific Coast in the state of Jalisco. Its combination of first-class amenities and charming, palm-fringed villages have made it an appealing retiree draw, as well as a popular tourist destination.”

Puerto Vallarta,,,Vacation Paradise.
