About Marilyn Lawenda
I am very active and love hiking the trails, dirt biking and quading (4 wheelers) with my son. I go to Lake Arrowhead every chance I get, to unwind, relieve stress and center myself. I am a warm and caring women and the cabin is a reflection of that. I spend my free time volunteering in third world countries, building schools, working with orphans and disaster relief.

Why Marilyn Lawenda chose Lake Arrowhead
Lake Arrowhead - The 'Alps' Of Southern California Nestled in the majestic mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest, widely known as "The Alps of Southern California," is the best kept secret on the West Coast - Lake Arrowhead. What makes this Cabin unique
As I travel up the mountain from L.A., only a 90 minute drive, I can physically feel the layers of stress peel off. By the time I get there I am already in a renewed and relaxed state. Most noticeable is the lack of traffic and noise, just the quiet sounds of nature. I love the four seasons, each for their own unique character. I originally thought this was a winter resort, but actually it is popular all seasons, and especially summer with the lake and beach access. I am located on a private lane, away from the highways, surrounded by trees and the most spectacular lake views. You can usually find me on the deck staring aimlessly at the forest and listening to the birds and the wind blowing in the trees. I am a dog lover, and my dogs love Lake Arrowhead, where they can run on the trails and explore. The close proximity to Los Angeles is a plus, because whenever I need to escape I just get in the car and make the short drive.

Great weekend getaway
Excellent place to spend a weekend in the mountains!
Really enjoyed it
Marilyn was very helpful and responsive. We had a wonderful time
Clean, perfect fit for our trip
Great Weekend Getaway
Super cute and well maintained cabin. Property was close to everything and our stay was very comfortable. Would definitely use again if in the area.
Cozy cabin in the woods
Charming little cabin with a nice backyard for spa dips, bbqing and our dogs. The front porch was our favorite for dining and s'mores around the fire pit. The cabin was also located close to Lake Arrowhead village which was great to run down to for groceries, dining options or just to walk along the water. The only minor issue we had at the house was that the baby/dog gates did not really fit the stairwells and the upstairs bedroom and downstairs bunk rooms do not have doors so noise travels easily. Other than that, the beds were incredibly comfortable, there were fans throughout to keep the house cool, the kids loved sleeping in the downstairs bunk room (kind of like a walk out basement) and Marilyn was an extremely proactive and responsive host. Overall, we loved our stay here!
We took our family of 5 up to celebrate Father’s Day. It was the perfect amount of space to spend a cozy yet fun filled weekend. Very close to the village which was great for meals with a lake view and quick grocery runs. Access to beach club was great to spend time in the water with the kiddos. Even found a few starter hikes for our toddlers to explore. Home was extremely clean and had everything we needed to spend good quality time together. Thank you again for sharing.
At almost a mile high, Lake Arrowhead is truly above it all. As you drive up the scenic Rim of the World highway, those breathtaking views are just the beginning—the "jewel" lies just beyond those trees and over that ridge. The city life washes away as you descend through the shade of the Dogwood trees. Fourteen miles of epic shoreline enclose the sapphire blue water of Lake Arrowhead. The lake is lined by century old pine, oak and cedar trees. With its famous relaxed lifestyle and most of the modern conveniences of any city, Lake Arrowhead has it all.
There are two main retail Villages at Lake Arrowhead. There is Arrowhead Village on the lake and Blue Jay Village nearby. Both villages have a grocery store, shops, restaurants and bars. For Winter sports, the closest resort is Snow Valley Mountain Resort for skiing and snowboarding. Next door is the Snow Drift Snow Tubing park. .
In Big Bear, there are both Snow Summit and Bear Mountain Ski Resorts.
Travel time is approximately 1 hour from Lake Arrowhead.
