Davaar Hideaway is perfect for a couple or a group of 2 couples wishing to get away from it all to a quiet, romantic, clean, centrally located close to the main village property set within beautiful surrounds.
Davaar Hideaway is a ground floor apartment of a c1904 Federation home accessed by a fully paved garden path (not suitable to children under 15, elderly or mobility impaired guests). Just recently fully renovated with a brand new kitchen, brand new mattresses and all linen provided. The entire apartment is heated and cooled by a reverse cycle air-conditioning unit which is separate to the main house and can be controlled from inside the apartment. The kitchen boasts a new fridge, stove, small dishwasher and Crisp/Grill microwave oven. There are two sofas to sit and chat whilst cooking plus a 4 seated dining table. The bathroom is decorated in a quiet federation style with a modern toilet, shower, vanity and a 6 foot original Victorian cast iron bath and has underfloor heating. There are 2 Queen bedrooms with new mattresses and toppers, built in wardrobes, one with an additional Edwardian wardrobe, both with dressers and mirrors. All linen is deluxe hotel quality plus heavy cotton sheeting and is professionally laundered. The snug boasts a 3 seater and a 2 seater leather couch plus a large, flat screen TV. A DVD and CD player is supplied, recent movies are available from the DVD kiosk at Woolworths Leura. The snug also has a huge selection of books which visitors may browse through at their leisure. We are very amenable to books being 'borrowed' for longer than visitors stays but do request visitors check with us first as some books are precious. There is a original fireplace in the snug but it is unusable as the chimney was unfortunately disconnected many many decades ago.
The garden is accessible to guests who are very welcome to wander through all the grounds. This garden has been a past participating garden for some years in the Leura Garden Festival. There is a veggie patch and an espalier orchard where guests are welcome to help themselves. Pictures have been taken in Spring which is the peak garden time, however there is generally something always flowering or interesting to see.
WARNING!: This property is not suitable for children under 15, elderly or mobility impaired. There is a open pool located next door which is partially fenced. As we have no neighbouring fences, this can pose a danger to children. We also have a working bee hive in an completely inaccessible part of this property. Therefore you may see our bees in the garden during the Spring to Summer period (they go very quiet in late Autumn and during Winter). They will not attack unless pestered or interfered with. We can arrange an EpiPen to be available if requested - please see optional extra costs as a bond is required for this.
LOCATION: The property is located on the corner of Megalong and Woodford streets. Parking is plentiful and safe on Woodford Street which is a quiet local street.
GUESTS ACCESS AREAS: Guests have full access to the garden areas, laundry and outdoor clothes line (which is under cover). All areas of the ground floor are accessible with the exception of the garage. This does not impact on the apartment area.
