Many will recognise this farmhouse from the Gourmet Farmer SBS TV series, with its big farmhouse kitchen and Rayburn wood-burning stove. It’s a relaxing base for a southern Tasmanian holiday, under an hour from Hobart. Tour the gorgeous Huon Valley, hang out in our north-facing sunroom enjoying the garden and forest views, and snuggle in front of the fire on a winter’s evening. Puggle Farm offers surprising privacy and solitude, only two minutes’ drive into the charming village of Cygnet.
On a birthday weekend in Cygnet in 2017, we fell in love with Puggle Farm, which had just come onto the market (quite a birthday, as it turned out). We hope you love it too.
The farmhouse has a big kitchen, living room and bathroom downstairs, plus the sunroom with paddock and forest views. The three bedrooms are upstairs, two with a queen bed, one double. The house is set in a garden and five acres of land.
There are board games and beach towels for fun times, and Randall's Bay Beach is 15 minutes' drive away.
Free internet access.
We have focused on providing you with a really comfortable night's sleep. Our linen is luxurious, there's plentiful extra bedding (spare warm and cool quilts and blankets) for hot sleepers and cold sleepers, and a mix of pillows – high, low, soft and firm.
For your first breakfast, we provide bread to die for from the Cygnet Woodfired Bakery, homemade marmalade, eggs from our 'girls', oranges, muesli, and coffee, tea and milk. There are several ways to make coffee, and a juicer, microwave and gas stove (as well as the Rayburn). You'll find rice, pasta and essential cooking supplies (such as olive oil, s&p), and the freezer is stocked with gourmet meals made by the Wursthaus Kitchen in Salamanca, Hobart for those who'd like to kick back in the evening. Simply transfer into our bank account if you buy a meal. Tasmanian wine is also available.
There's a washing machine in the bathroom, and an outside line and pegs. Please be mindful we are on limited tank water. (There's an iron too, but you're on holiday, right?)
You're on your own, so absolutely make yourself at home. Feel free to wander about the garden and paddocks, explore by the stream and collect eggs from the chooks. Please shut the gate at night to keep the native marsupials out of the garden.

Perfect place to relax
Mel has thought of everything and the sun room is the perfect place to enjoy the spoils of the local area in the afternoon - especially the cider! The location is so peaceful and Cygnet is such a beautiful town and eating out there was amazing too!
Perfect in every way!
We’ve just enjoyed a truly memorable Christmas at Puggle Farm and will definitely return. Our teenage girls had a fabulous time feeding the resident hens, collecting fresh eggs and picking raspberries. The cottage itself is warm, cosy and beautifully
presented. Everything we needed was there helping us to relax quickly and get into holiday mode from the get-go. A prettier spot would be hard to find.
