SAY IT LOUD! I HATE CROWDS! (MOST THE TIME...)
Your very own Saugatuck secret getaway. Trust me, you'll tell no one of your new discovery, this private, pleasure place. Of course, friends will want to know where you found a renovated, 12-acre farmhouse just under 2 miles from town and a five-minute drive to the beach. BUT damned if you're saying a word. After all they don't need to know THE ZOO offers the best of both worlds... the private, RUSTIC, country setting with star-filled nights or the crowds awaiting you in town by foot, bike or car. Morning coffee on the front lawn and drinks around back at the fire pit. Long country walks, shopping in town or days and sunsets at the beach. You decide.
Nothing fancy, just fun. Nothing beats your Daze at The Zoo.

Spacious Casual Comfort
We enjoyed the spacious casual comfort of the quiet & quaint ZOO! It has wonderful rooms to take meals with family in the area and great space for young adults to have fun and games. Appreciated some of the provisions like waters to take to the beach and charcoal and grill! Great location!
Rustic Retreat - Everything as Promised
We had a great stay at the Zoo. The property description is accurate and the other reviews are helpful. We loved the woodsy setting close to downtown Saugatuck. This is not a five star hotel, more like glamping. We spent a lot of time on the front porch and that's the best bedroom in the house. Lots of room to socialize together or spread out. The kitchen is cute. We did not use the fire pit, but it was tempting. The host was helpful and accessible, but not intrusive. We appreciated the local tips. Our 21 and 18 yo girls liked it, too. Recommend and would stay here again.
A Great Saugatuck Option for Zoo...I mean you!
The Zoo is a unique place to stay when visiting Saugatuck! The home is close enough to town to get there in under 10 minutes' drive but far enough away to be more secluded in the woods. The space was open, airy and spacious for our family with room to spread out and relax. It was well equipped with cable, Internet, games, and a backyard for grilling and bonfires in the fire pit. Our host was very helpful in providing advice on restaurants and activities. Definitely consider this property if you prefer to avoid the hustle/bustle of downtown for a more quiet and peaceful stay.
3 Nights AT THE ZOO
My wife and I were looking for a 3-day getaway while our kids were at summer camp. This location was appealing because it was close to Saugatuck (2.7 miles) but offered some seclusion and privacy. The home is surrounded by mature trees which offer great shade and a cool breeze. The home was clean and contained all the advertised amenities. We spent most of our time on the large screened-in front porch which offered a cool breeze and a unique atmosphere. We also utilized the fire pit on our last evening and enjoyed grilling some steaks next to a roaring fire. Overall, I would describe the interior of the home as rustic. It has some great features like exposed beams and skylights in the kitchen, but it has the rustic features of an old farmhouse. If you're looking for quaint, clean, and peaceful. This is the place for you.
A Wonderful Getaway
A great place to stay that has character. Lots of nearby activities and plenty of room to have bonfires or grill outs. Overall a wonderful place to plan a getaway.
A quirky cottage, full of spaces to catch up
This quirky cottage was a great setting for my friends to have a mini college reunion during or friends wedding weekend. Barb had many great suggestions and had we been there longer we would have explored even more. Although the bedrooms don't have a ton of privacy, what it doesn't lack is space to hang out and catch up. We took advantage of the bonfire outside and the many areas with open windows to sit and eat food and play games together. Thanks for a great stay!
