Why Laurie Bixler - George Bixler chose Scanlonville
We take pride in our unique large home and surroundings. The house is continually updated. We attend to every detail and supervision of cleanliness and styling. We live on the property and so, of course, treat it with extra loving care. We were drawn to the unique waterfront property with the southern feeling and privacy, with location, location, location. The waterfront private dock combined with beaches and downtown make this a perfect spot. ** It is very important to us that you are aware that we live in a full and private apartment attached to this house and have been here over 20 years. We live on this unique property in a private and separate apartment with a private entrance. We like our privacy, and we like to give you privacy. We love renting the house and we appreciate it if you choose this rental. We want you to be comfortable and we want to earn your 5 star review. **
What makes this House unique
Only 3 miles into Charleston just over the bridge ! This house is super convenient to Charleston and great restaurants. And the beach of Sullivan's Island is just 6 miles down the road. Truly a "perfect location". Gorgeous surroundings plus the dock. Aside from the private property peninsula, this property is encircled by water and marsh, and has water views of the creeks, the rivers, and the marshes. The water views and the tidal changes really make this property spectacular. It is all about the fabulous waterfront location, the ebb and flow of the tides, the natural wildlife, and the privacy, combined with a comfortable savvy home. What a way to enjoy Historic Charleston, the Beaches and the marshes! The location can't be beat, as is evidenced by the mega multi million dollar homes in the area.

Our family took children and grand children and really enjoyed our stay in this home. Although it’s a drive to the beach the house and it’s ammenities were great!
What an awesome place! Caught enough blue crab on day one to have a crab boil with leftovers for the morning omelette. Perfectly equipped kitchen and bath. 10 minutes to downtown, 30 minutes to Folly, 20 minutes to Sullivan's island and Isle of Palms. Fishing pier within walking distance. Will be back!!!
Had a great time, beautiful area, lovely house! Very accommodating!
Beautiful house, great location!
This turned out to be a wonderful place for us, our two daughters, and three grandchildren under the age of 4. The very hot weather kept us indoors more than we might have liked, but it was only a short drive to aquarium, downtown Charleston, beach, and dock for sailboat ride. The house was well appointed and very comfortable. We would do it again - Highly recommended.
Our family enjoyed this quiet treasure! Enjoyed the porches, fishing, crabbing, and kayaking!
The house was as beautiful in reality as it appears online. Front and back porches with comfortable chairs. The back of the house has a beautiful view of the marsh. It is a very quiet setting but also a short drive to restaurants and grocery stores. Updated kitchen and bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Laurie, the owner of the house, was very helpful getting us acquainted with our surroundings. A great house! We had 5 women staying 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it. I highly recommend The Big Chill.
isle of palms, sullivans island, i'on, creek club
Other Activities: Kayak, bicycle, fishing, shrimping, crabbing off the dock. Stand Up Paddle board too. Very centrally located to downtown and beaches.
