1 Bedroom/1 Bath Sleeps 2 Romantic Bali Cottage w/hot tub across Kehena Beach
Aloha! We call the Big Island Home! As a Native to the Hawaiian Islands, my husband and I fell in love with this area for it's remote beauty & charm. You can really connect with the Aina and feel the Mana around you. We made the house open to our guest after years of living here. We love Hosting Guests from all over the world and making new friends. We are a Licensed STVR in the State and County of Hawaii and we also live in the same area, so no worries. We greet all our Guests and treat them like our own Ohana! Mahalo again for giving us this opportunity and we look forward to Hosting you and become part of our Ohana!
Why Iliahi chose Kehena Beach Estates
We love the Puna area for it's remote beauty, green forest, rugged coast and deep pacific blue waters. We love the east side of the Big Island as we experience no Vog due to our constant Easterly trade-winds and we experience less rainfall than Hilo. Our area is also known for it's Sunny days and Rainy nights one of the reasons why it is so green and lush. It is one of the most beautiful areas in the Hawaiian Island chain. This place holds so much History of the Hawaiian People and is sacred. This is Pele's Home! This area feels like old Hawaii, full of Beauty ,Tradition, friendly people and the Aloha Spirit truly Lives here! Malama pono!
What makes this Cottage unique
The inspiration to build the The Bali Cottage as another place for our own Ohana to stay with when they visit us from other island and the mainland they came to visit us . The Cottage was Custom built using imported woods from Bali. We tried to use as much renewable and reusable materials in it's construction. We wanted to create a place that our Guest would enjoy year round and have a place that could be affordable yet elegant. The Bali Cottage has an amazing unobstructed oceanfront view of Kehena Bay & the deep blue Pacific Ocean and is only 200 ft away from Kehena Beach. It has its own hot tub, garden and is gated and has covered parking and has kitchen and on suite bathroom with a covered Lanai upstairs. With privacy in mind, the Bali House and Cottage are 2 separate structures and only share the carport. Aloha and E Komo Mai!

I'm not good on these sort of things so I hope what I write is sufficient rather than an injustice. I believe my wife and I both went into the visit with expectations of a cozy place by the beach. Instead, we were blessed with the most unimaginable place one could think of. We wanted to sign up for additional time but were simply unable to. Next time, we will plan on weeks. Please plan on an extended stay for yourselves. The beach is across the street has amazing black sand and scenic views. Make sure you take the drive up the coastline to see all of the natural beauty of the island. Then come back to the Cottage for the best R&R

This was such a Unique and beautifully appointed house,
We were blown away by the lovely appointments and completely thoughtful touches the owners arranged throughout the property which made it the best air bnb we’ve ever stayed at!
The road noise drove me nuts on Sunday cuz that’s the day 10,000 hippies gather on the beach accross the street to do drums, but that’s only one day a
Week to deal with, small price for
Paradise! Well worth every penny and would surely return (but not on a Sunday)!
Many many mahalos again for staying with us and giving us this amazing review! We are so glad you both loved your stay with us at the Bali House and we cannot wait to Host you both again soon :) Love your comment about about Drum Circle Sunday at Kehena beach it is very popular event by everyone LOL!
With much aloha,
Tim and Ilaihi
Absolute paradise sums it up. The cottage was perfect. An off the grid feel, but modern amenities tucked away for comfort. Tim and Iliahi really go above and beyond to make sure every last detail is accounted for.
Many mahalos again for staying with us and we are so happy you both enjoyed your stay at the Bali Cottage :) We cannot wait to Host you both again soon. A Hui HO!
With our warmest aloha,
Tim and Iliahi
Awesome place and location
Spent 10 days here and was blown away with weather ,did not expect to have only 1 rainy day.We have always just driven over to this side for a day due to wet weather, and expected the ocean to be too strong for us to get out into as its wintertime here, but we were able to swim 8 out 10 days, amazing .Our plan was to explore this side and we never left except rainy day and to visit Uncle Roberts market on wed evening which is a must for the music, vendors and food..The people here were so friendly and helpful. It is so nice to have a beach you can enjoy and be free to sun bath and swim au naturel!
The neighbood is so beautiful with all the tropical plants for getting our evening walk in.The cottage is what you see on website. We were very happy with accommodations and our hosts. They truly want to make this a memorable stay. The kitchen is well stocked with little extras....tinfoil, saran wrap, paper towels, storage containers, snorkel equipment, umbrellas, beach mats and cooler.
Loved hot tub and appreciated being able to set it at the temperature we enjoy. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine(even my favorite)and lei's to enhance our experience. It took alittle getting use to going outside and up and down stairs to get to bedroom/bathroom and kitchen. The only thing missing for us was on outdoor shower which we have grown to enjoy having here in the tropics. The lighting is dim which is romantic ,as they use low lighting to conserve energy. I would recommend wearing your flip flops to hot tub as the stone walk way doesn't
go all the way unless you have island feet.😁The views off the lani are stunning, especially watching the full moon and all those stars as there is no light pollution. No roosters or dogs barking and frogs were just in evening .The road noise isn't to bad and very quiet during the night. We will definatly be back and letting others know of this little gem .Mahola
Awe... you guys are soo sweet and many many mahalos again for writing this review for us and staying with us! We really loved Hosting you both during your time here and we cannot wait for you both to come back soon!
With our warmest aloha and a hui ho,
Tim and Iliahi
