Easter Weekend get away
We could not have stay in a better place. Everything was orderly and tastefully decorated and close to the beach. House was within walking distance to restaurants and music. We recommend and will return.
Perfect place for a long term stay
My wife and I stayed here for 2 months while I attended a school in Dahlgren. The commute was easy enough (30 minutes) and it was so nice to have a home to return to. The place is modest but comfortable and fully equipped for both vacations and longer term. Pete was very responsive and helpful when assistance was required. Colonial Beach was dormant for the early winter but we enjoyed daily walks with the dog. The river, and the path that follows it, is just a few houses down the street. Overall a great stay!
Just what I was looking for!
I stayed for little over 3 months. I am a traveling nurse and found this cute little cottage in which I fell in love with! Perfect yard for my dog! Great location: walking distance to restaurants, the boardwalk, and so much more. Loved looking at the river each day! Pete was very easy to work with and responded very quickly to questions/concerns. If I am ever back in Colonial Beach, I will definitely stay here again!
Cozy, well decorated cottage, extremely comfy beds, close to everything and owners provide tons of extras - beach toys, margarita glasses and matches and candles! Will book again.
Comfortable place in a very quiet town.
We stayed for six weeks in May & June and enjoyed it! The house is comfortable and clean. Probably better suited for a shorter stay, but we made it work fine. We have a kayak and could carry it by hand to put in no problem. The neighborhood is extremely quiet — even on a holiday weekend, it was not busy. For us, the only hitch was that the queen bed is extremely soft, which is not our preference, but certainly may be for others. The twin beds are quite firm.
Nice place near the beach
We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and had just about everything we needed. Pete was great and answered any questions I had. There are quite a few restaurants within walking distance of the house and almost everyone in Colonial Beach is very friendly. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again given the chance.
Glad you enjoyed the house and your stay. Thank you.
Quiet waterfront, golf cart community on Potomac River just over an hour from Washington, DC.; an hour from Richmond, VA. Beautifully maintained sandy beach and marinas with great amenities. Some of the best crab cakes you'll find anywhere with live music available most weekend nights at some of the friendliest watering holes. This is a fantastic little town that's close enough to DC to make it a perfect weekend getaway, and far enough away to leave your stress behind and relax. You can walk to almost everything in town and there's plenty to do for all ages. Great Gourmet food shops, antique and specialty shops, classic car shows, old fashioned ice cream and a wonderful coffee shop!
