Great Escape boasts one of the largest residential freshwater oceanfront swimming pools in Cayman Kai. Offering a white-sand barefoot beach and a very spacious interior, Great Escape is perfect for a large family vacation or multiple couples on a getaway.

Great Escape’s Unique Features:

-With a screened-in covered porch of more than 1,000 square feet, guests can enjoy the outdoors even on that occasional rainy day.

-Optional pool heat ($250/wk) means the pool will be inviting to all guests year around.

-The cove, nicknamed Bioluminescence Bay, is one of the most unique eco-systems in the world, with glow-in-the-dark phytoplankton and luminescent marine life... lighting up the bay most every night if disturbed by kayaks or paddleboards. The cove is also perfect for boating, kayaking, or just lounging on your beach while taking in the views.

-The best barefoot swimming beach in Cayman Kai and the Rum Point Club—offering watersports, drinks, lunch and dinner—are diagonally across the street 200 yards.

-Great Escape’s interiors are clean and modern, with cool tile floors and modern decor.

-Plenty of windows and sliding glass doors open onto the pool area and fill the home with sunlight.

-The gorgeous kitchen is just off of the front porch, offering an eclectic dining table, bar seating, granite countertops, and the full range of modern stainless appliances (oven, range with hood, dishwasher, full-size refrigerator). Cookware, dishware, cutlery, and coffeemaker are all provided.

-The large, beachfront screened porch has lounges chairs and a ping pong table, so guests can play or just relax without losing the breeze.

-The cove behind Great Escape it is more for boating than swimming, and has a private dock if you decide to rent a boat or hire a private charter during your stay. The cove bottom is soft and there are no corals to attract the fish… so for barefoot swimming or snorkeling, guests simply walk across the street to the sandy beach.

-One oceanfront King master suite opens to the screened porch and offers a small sitting area and enormous walk-in shower in the master bath

-King bedroom and Queen bedroom in main house share a full bath. The King opens onto the screened porch; the Queen opens onto the front porch.

-All bedrooms have flat-screen TVs

-Optional Guest Cottage has a king bed and trundle/day bed (sleeps 2 children), flat screen TV, private bathroom, and kitchenette, as well as a private screened porch with plenty of comfortable seating.

-Central A/C

-Free WiFi

-Custom Charcoal Grill

-Linens, towels and beach towels provided

Your very own resort In paradise

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed the property. Plenty to do to keep our party of 8 satisfied because getting to Seven Mile beach from Rum Point is quite a long trip and driving at night was not easy. If you want peace and quiet this is the place. We had a little trouble getting in touch with the property manager but to his defense there was a wind storm on the island and he was very busy. The pool was very dirty from the storm - we cleaned it ourselves because we were unable to get in touch with Ron and the safe was locked but after it was open it still did not work for us - could have Been operator error. Small issues - great time! We will return to CAY MAN - the island is beautiful!

Wonderful time and amazing property!!!!!!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented Great Escape for a week and absolutely loved it. We have traveled all over the world and stayed in numerous accommodations. This was by far our favorite. The property was immaculate and accommodated our family of six adults and two children perfectly. Everything about this property was great!!! We spent our days swimming in the pool, fishing off the dock, lounging in the screened in porch, playing games, grilling, and kayaking in the cove. We have stayed on Seven Mile Beach twice before and all agree that staying at Great Escape and near Rum Point was far better. It's a much quieter pace, low key, and very safe with no crowds. We loved walking down the street to Rum Point, grabbing coffee at the Kaibo Expresso Bar, and dancing at the Kaibo Tuesday night Barefoot BBQ. We highly recommend this property and can't wait to go back. One recommendation we would make is to pay the extra and have the pool heated. We are so happy that we had it heated. Thank you again to the owners for sharing this wonderful property and allowing our family to have such an amazing time in Grand Cayman.

Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family of four, two teenagers and two adults stayed at the property and it was perfect. The home was very clean and the perfect layout for hanging out. We really enjoyed the outdoor area around the pool and the screened in porch...very private so we could play music and hang late if we wanted. We used the paddle board and the two kayaks everyday to cruise up and down the inlet. Really nice being so close to Rum Point...yes, just a walk away to see the ocean, grab a bite to eat or relax with a drink. People very friendly and nice.

Nothing negative but I will mention that we were there the first week of June (start of rain season) and if the wind was not blowing, the mosquitos were a problem. All the outdoor restaurants came to the table with bug spray just in case. We had lots of ocean air so was only a problem one evening. I would definitely stay at Rum Point versus Seven Mile Beach for the privacy and beauty. Great vacation.

Wonderful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

My family of ten stayed at the Great Escape in July 2014 for one week. We had three adult couples who stayed in the main house and in the cottage four female cousins aged 20, 16, 16 and 7. This house was perfect for us and we all loved it!! I cannot say enough about this house, the island, and Rum Point Beach! We used the paddle board and kayaks every day and just loved the pool area. We barbecued a few times and had whatever we needed in the kitchen. The store is about a 20 minute drive. Be advised that everything is closed on Sundays. We were met upon arrival by a nice woman who showed us around the house and gave us information we needed for the week. The beds were comfortable, the house was very clean, the grounds were beautiful. It was a perfect vacation and we cannot wait to come back to this wonderful house. My family plans on visiting again soon!! You will be very happy you rented this house in the quiet, beautiful area of Cayman Kai.

Our family of four had the most wonderful week at Great Escape. The house was perfect in every way. With its open floor plan and large bedrooms, we were very comfortable. The amenities are fantastic from the well stocked kitchen to the immense amount of beach and bath towels. Our 8 and 5 year olds loved swimming in the large L-shaped pool multiple times a day. The outdoor dining table next to the water was our favorite spot for dinner. This side of the island is much quieter than the Seven Mile Island, which we loved. We walked to Rum Point almost every day to go to the beach, grab lunch or rent jet skis. I would recommend stocking up on groceries at the larger grocery store near the airport so that you can just relax. You will never want to leave.

The entire island is only 22 miles wide from west to east; so you are never too far from anywhere on Grand Cayman. The cove-front homes in “Cayman Kai” (within Rum Point) offer calm serene water for docking a rental boat, permitting charter captain pick-up or just safe shallow water for little children. Adults won’t swim in the cove (rum point is too nice by comparison) —the water is shallow and has a softer bottom and there is no reef here for fish life...but AT GREAT ESCAPE...the best white sand beach is literally right out the front door. You get the boest of both worlds at Great Escape; a private backyard, pool and boat dock well as proximity to the Rum point Club...AND a perfect beach across the street. The beaches are flat white barefoot sand. There is usually little breeze here to speak of. Many homes in Cayman Kai offer a screened porch. The big draw to this area is the proximity to the “Rum Point Club”; a public beach club that offers a fantastic barefoot beach…many watersports, a restaurant, bar, grill, gift shop and pick-up beach volleyball games. ( ) It is from the Rum Point pier that the 65’ catamaran departs to stingray sandbar for snorkeling trips. Also near Rum Point is the Kaibo Yacht Club restaurant, bar and marina ( Just a great neighborhood dotted with million-dollar oceanfront villas. Click our map on the home page. Lastly…about 20 minutes east we have (2) large resorts in the east end ( and ) that offer manicured beaches as well as restaurants, a modern grocery store, liquor store, gift shops, SUBWAY sandwich shop (and even a coffee/pastry shop). These two resorts also offer scuba, snorkel trips, jet skis, windsurfers, kiteboarding, ocean front pools and bar service. and offer snorkeling tours, paddle boards, jet skis, etc.
