My family and i had a wonderful time....rooms are very clean.....views are spectacular...priced right. Only frustration was the sporadic tv working and not working. The remote didnt work mlst of the time..we had to manually change. We would stay there again
This was great. Only issues were that the couch in front on the TV is worn out. Not a big deal but it rained a lot (surprise!) and we spent a lot of time there. Mattresses and pillows might need an update.
Stayed here with my husband, 5 year old, dog and mother for her 60th. Was great weather for Septmeber and 5 days was the perfect amount of time. The 3 bedrooms were great. We pulled the trundle out on my daughters bed and I even slept with her a couple nights. That bed was softer than the queen beds that were form (how my husband prefers). Lots of space in the rental. There is a did player if you want to bring your own movies (or a Redbox at the local IGA). Plenty of pots and pans, toaster, microwave, coffee pot, blender and more! We purchased a wine screw and left it for the next guests. The jetted bath tub in the master bath was a hot for my 5 year old every night. Was also great to have a washer and dryer, but bring your own front loading detergent! The water is not to my taste, so next time we will bring lite of bottled. A few minute walk to the beach which we found was the best and calmest of the beaches after visiting a few. The driving beaches are just too windy to beach comb and build castles. The beach right here was perfect! And dog friendly!
I was honestly a little hesitant to rent a condo for our Labor Day weekend trip. We've only rented houses up to this point but the location of this home was great so I took a chance. I'm glad I did because it was perfect for the 6 of us (8 with our 2 dogs). Plenty of room to spread out and great views. Yes there are a lot of stairs to contend with but it was a minor inconvenience for an otherwise amazing stay. Very close to the beach and there is parking at the access points as well in case you need to set up a beach camp/fire. Overall I am very happy with our stay. I would definitely recommend it to others.
This was our third year in a row staying at the Bristol Court condos. The view from the top floor makes the hike up the staircase worth it. We'll be back next year.
PROS: The condo is modern, spacious, neat and clean. It’s close to the beach, and the views are lovely. Having a washer, dryer and dishwasher is a plus. For a three-bedroom, it’s a good price.
CONS: Inside, the condo has some minor maintenance issues: a bar stool with a large Disney princess sticker stuck to it, scratch marks and chips on painted furniture, stained cushions on bar stools. The bookcase could use a handful of board games and books. Outside, caulking on the siding needs to be painted over. Small details, but the condo is billed as a luxury unit.
My main complaint, however, is the wifi. We have a child with special needs, and I worked very hard to find a rental with reliable wifi. Unfortunately, on the third day, the wifi went out around 7 a.m. and was still out when my kids woke up a few hours later; resetting the router didn’t help. I contacted the owner and he said he’d get right on it. An hour and a half later, there was still no wifi. Meanwhile, the property manager called me and said the booster was in the condo next door, and because the tenants were friends of the owner, he wasn’t allowed to enter the unit. After having the internet company ping the location, the manager verified the issue was with the booster and suggested I knock on the neighbor’s door. Weird, but I did it. They weren’t home, so we had to wait until they arrived early evening, and they had trouble getting it reset. Meanwhile, my child was becoming increasingly agitated. Ultimately, the internet came back on 12 hours after it had gone out.
Because it was chilly (low 60s in August) and we were eager to get to our next destination, we left a day early. I emailed the building owner and said we didn’t expect a refund for our changed plans. However, I did ask for a partial refund for the 12 hours of lost wifi, explaining the issue with our child.
The owner responded that he was sorry for the brief wifi outage, but that he had sent someone to the next-door unit to reset the modem right after we talked. I truly believed he thought the problem had been fixed right away, so I wrote him back with the whole story. He never responded.
Truly, missing wifi is not like a flooded bathroom or bug infestation. But I hope my story is a cautionary one for parents traveling with kids with special needs. I doubt I will do a VRBO again for a short stay; there’s no financial flexibility in leaving early when things don’t go as planned.
